This way, this work presents a probabilistic analysis of the slope stability of a pier under construction, located in the city of Barcarena / PA , which failed a few months after the constructions of a compacted landfill on soft soil to access it. In order to evaluate que possible causes of the failure, several cenarius were simulated using the software Slope, developed by Roc Science Inc, involving situations of tide fluctuation and fill loading, to calculate the probabilities of failures and their corresponding factors of safety. The deterministic factors of safety were in all situations very close to 1 or less. These results were not able to explain in a reasonable way how could the slope be stable for approximately 5 months. Such explanation was possible only based on the probabilistic analysis and the calculated probability of failure which showed that the most critical situation was in low tide with the fill load completely applied. In this situation the probability of failure was close to 60%, what means that the slope was very likely to fail, but not necessarily the failure would occur. The samples were taken with thin-walled tubular samplers, with outsider diameter of 76.2 mm, without inside clearance and with fixed piston. The techniques applied for sampling and trimming the one-dimensional consolidation test specimens provided excellent quality specimens close to the deposit surface and good to fair quality specimens at higher depths. The results showed that the velocity of water rising through the capillaries of soil increased when the soil was compacted with a higher dry unit weight. The expansion of soil started to manifest after the capillary water reached an average of 1/3 of the total height. Over time, the coefficient of permeability decreased in all cases from 0.0005 cm/s to 0.0003 cm/s. It was found that the air intake was located at 25 cm in height and that the matric suction in the soil registered values of 600-800 kPa for saturation degrees between 90%-100%. The technological control of a stapled soil work aims to test the capacity of these injections, not only through the normative criteria of cement grout resistance, but also in response to the interface with the soil when consolidated, by pullout test. This work aimed to evaluate the use of the stapled soil technique in a residual granite soil in a work located in the city of Porto Alegre / RS, using some technological controls, such as: RCS (Resistance to Simple Compression) of the grout staple injection cement and staple pullout test to check the adhesion tension (q s ) in prototype staple. For the verification of the RCS, more than 50 specimens of cement grout and some concrete from the construction site were molded in loco. The pullout test, on the other hand, was carried out at the construction site 28 days after the injection of the cement solution, whose specified water-cement factor was 0.5 for the CPII-32 cement. The pullout test result can be related to the direct shear test performed for the system anchoring soil. It was possible to make a map of the resistances of each injected clamp. From the clamp pullout test, it was possible to obtain and interpret the force-displacement relationship through loads and discharges with a monkey-pump-manometer set, observing that the value of q s must be interpreted as a function of the displacements obtained. Even with the curing of the specimens in the air, 85% of the samples tested ranged from 20 to 32 MPa, with 15% being around 19 MPa. O critério de ruptura de Mohr-Coulomb será utilizado para determinar a instabilidade e a envoltória de ruptura foi obtida a partir de retro-analises das componentes de tensão normal e cisalhante, obtendo os valores de coesão e ângulo de atrito que usados para calcular os valores de σ 1max para todos os valores de σ 3 obtidos na modelagem fatores segurança rampas permanentes fatores segurança, 1.3, pontos ABSTRACT: Preventing events that promote instability is fundamental to a rock mechanics department at underground mines. In order to analyse this, it is crucial to understand the rock mass behaviour due to the stress conditions. This study aims to identify regions at the Mine III decline where is expected instabilities promoted by stress variation. It will be estimated by numerical modelling at MAP3D software, considering the planned openings in 2020 and 2021. The methodology consists in simulate the stopes opening and check the variation of σ1 and σ3 at the roof along the decline. The Mohr-Coulomb failure criteria will be used to determine the instability and the rupture envelope was obtained from retro-analysis of the normal and shear stress components, obtaining the cohesion and friction angle values that will be used to calculate the σ1max values for all σ3 values obtained in the modelling. The results obtained have indicated that some crosscuts to access the oredrives presented safety factors less than suitable.
