The objective of this work was to evaluate the feasibility of stabilizing a plastic soil in the Metropolitan Region of Cariri with the use of plasterboard and hydrated lime residues for use in base and sub-base strategies for highways. A methodology consisted of conducting soil characterization tests and plaster residue and mechanical characterization of mixtures of soil, plaster soil and soil of varying content or content of plaster residue (5%, 10% and 15%) and time curing time (0 and 14 days), the lime content remains constant (5%). It was observed that stabilization with plaster does not promote an increase in resistance, nor does it maintain the characteristics of the soil, on the contrary, or cause a reduction in resistance in the soil. However, when adding lime as soil mixtures, there was a significant strength gain.
