The research design used was quasi-experimental using two intact matched groups; the control group and experimental group. Results showed that the conceptual understanding of the two groups before and after the intervention was not significantly different. The independent t-test on the mean score and mean gain a score of the CUT of both groups before and after intervention were also found to be not significantly different. However, the control group had a higher mean score, and the mean gain score than the experimental group. Generally, students perceived GBT as a motivating and enjoyable method of instruction but more engagement time on the game and noncompetitive game directs a better classroom environment and learning experience. This study recommends that GBT is a helpful learning tool in class but teachers should note that too much competition during playtime can be destructive to the students learning as they lose focus on the important objective of gaming activity because of their eagerness to win the contest.","PeriodicalId":202217,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Education and Technology (ICET)","volume":"197 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115717119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numeracy is not only used in daily life but it also useful in work life. Previous research showed that numeracy at the elementary level can affect numeracy skills in the future. As the foundation in building the numeracy skills of elementary school students, it is important to know the numeracy skills of elementary school teachers. To predict its competencies, the numeracy test can be done to the prospective elementary school teachers. With the development of educational technology, the online assessment by Quizizz application can be chosen as the tool for taking the test. 237 respondents were involved in this research. Most prospective elementary school teachers are at a fair satisfactory level. The data shows, there is only 29.6% of prospective elementary school teachers can achieve the Essential of Numeracy title. This title shows the skill of prospective teachers to confidently deal with numbers in daily life. This low achievement shows the need to provide numeracy resources and a special program to improve the numeracy skills in the elementary school teacher education study program.","PeriodicalId":202217,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Education and Technology (ICET)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116780706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The competency level of junior high school science teachers was “satisfactory” as reflected in the mean of 3.13 using Friedman’s two-way ANOVA. Using Sandler’s, A test, the difference in the competency level of the teachers according to qualification is significant. Their strength is on Social Regard for Learning. The weaknesses are the Diversity of Learning and Community Linkages. For the Professional Index of TIPPD, 50% are experienced teachers; 41.67% are developing and 8.33% are experts. Statistical analysis revealed that no significant difference in the Professional Index of TIPPD according to work experience, number of training attended, and qualification. The length of service and number of training attended is not significantly associated with the competency level of junior high school science teachers, however, a marked difference in the competency level in terms of qualification.","PeriodicalId":202217,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Education and Technology (ICET)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114678231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
