Abstract

Numeracy has been an issue in mathematics education. Numeracy is not only used in daily life but it also useful in work life. Previous research showed that numeracy at the elementary level can affect numeracy skills in the future. As the foundation in building the numeracy skills of elementary school students, it is important to know the numeracy skills of elementary school teachers. To predict its competencies, the numeracy test can be done to the prospective elementary school teachers. With the development of educational technology, the online assessment by Quizizz application can be chosen as the tool for taking the test. 237 respondents were involved in this research. Most prospective elementary school teachers are at a fair satisfactory level. The data shows, there is only 29.6% of prospective elementary school teachers can achieve the Essential of Numeracy title. This title shows the skill of prospective teachers to confidently deal with numbers in daily life. This low achievement shows the need to provide numeracy resources and a special program to improve the numeracy skills in the elementary school teacher education study program.
