These supervisors oversee the curriculum articulation for over 200,000 Filipino learners in 85 Philippine public schools. Results showed that technology-assisted supervision (Mn=3.18; Md=3.26) outscored in-person supervision (Mn=2.88; Md=2.95), with the former mode of supervision obtaining higher perceived challenges than the latter. However, the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test found an insignificant difference in their degrees of challenges when grouped according to the mode of supervision used (p-value=.191>.05), indicating the need to further explore the supervisors’ experiences to improve their supervision quality.","PeriodicalId":19430,"journal":{"name":"New Educational Review","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136304522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the study investigated the correlation between self-concept and aggressive behaviour among undergraduate students of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The stratified random sampling technique was adopted to select 720, with 386 male and 334 female participants. An instrument titled “Self-concept and Aggressive Behaviour Questionnaire (SABQ)” was used to collect data for the study. The instrument was subjected to test-retest reliability, and a value of r=77 was obtained. The research questions were answered using mean summation and average, while the hypotheses were tested with Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation and the t-test statistics. The results revealed a low level of self-concept among respondents; males have a lower self-concept than female undergraduate students. There was a high level of aggressive behaviour among respondents; males have more aggressive behaviour than females. There was significant mean difference between male and female respondents in their self-concept and aggressive behaviour. It was recommended that school guidance counsellors design and implement programmes that could enhance self-concept and reduce aggressive behaviour among undergraduate students of universities.","PeriodicalId":19430,"journal":{"name":"New Educational Review","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136305948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aimed to investigate whether the emotional relationship with the child and work with behavioural boundaries that are the basis of parents’ parenting style relate to the degree of adolescents’ attachment. The theoretical background of the research problem was based on the theory of attachment and the theory of parenting styles. The research sample consisted of 1011 adolescents aged 10 to 15 (mean age 12.75 years, standard deviation 1.483) from all Slovak regions. Data were collected using the Parenting Style Questionnaire and the revised version of The Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment. We assumed that the degree of adolescents’ attachment strongly relates to their perception of their parents’ parenting styles. The results were significant and indicated that the character of parenting affects the perception of the closeness of the relationship between adolescents and their parents.","PeriodicalId":19430,"journal":{"name":"New Educational Review","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136305949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data were collected by questionnaire method. The questionnaire battery consisted of nominal variables and the EDE-Q Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire scale. 776 secondary school students participated in the research. The mean age of respondents was 17. The empirical research identified 247 (31.8%) respondents displaying symptoms of eating disorders at least in one of four examined dimensions of the EDE-Q scale (Restraint, Eating Concerns, Shape Concerns, Weight Concerns). Significant differences were found in eating disorder symptoms regarding the preferred eating form. Respondents ticking the option “I buy my food” achieved the highest scores. Also, a significant difference in eating disorder symptoms was identified according to the accommodation type, where students living in “sublets” can be considered to be at the highest risk in this regard. A significant difference in the prevalence of eating disorder symptoms was also recorded in terms of gender, where girls scored statistically significantly higher than boys in the monitored dimensions.","PeriodicalId":19430,"journal":{"name":"New Educational Review","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136306140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
