This article examines the maqasid al-shari‘ah formulated by al-Najjar, a Tunisian thinker who was born on May 28, 1945, in his work maqasid al-shari‘ah bi Ab’ad Jadidah. This research shows that maqasid al-shari‘ah according to al-Najjar is the purpose (al-ghayah) of the Islamic law’s application at both the universal and particular levels. This definition is in accordance with previous maqasidi thinkers, such as Ibn ‘Asyur and ‘Ilal al-Fasi. The innovation about maqasid al-shari‘ah which was initiated by Al-Najjar lies in the classification of maqasid al-shari‘ah into four main objectives: protecting the value of human life (hifzh qimat al-hayah al-insaniyyah), protecting human essence (hifzh al-dzat al-insaniyyah), protecting society (hifzh al-mujtama’) and protecting the physical environment (hifzh al-muhit al-maddi). Furthermore, al-Najja r also emphasized that all of these purposes originate and lead to the universal purposes of the shari’a (maqasid al-syari ‘ah al-kulliyah). Al-Najjar also tries to make the orientation of maqasid al-shari‘ah from the partial-individual benefit to the universal-social benefit. Abstrak. Artikel ini mengkaji tentang pemikiran maqasid al-shari‘ah yang rumuskan oleh al-Najjar, seorang pemikir asal Tunisia yang lahir pada 28 Mei 1945, dalam karyanya Maqasid al-shari‘ah bi Ab’ad Jadidah. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa maqasid al-shari‘ah menurut al-Najjar adalah tujuan (al-ghayah) diberlakukannya syariat Islam baik pada level universal maupun partikular. Definisi ini sesuai dengan para pemikir maqasidi sebelumnya, seperti Ibn ‘Asyur dan ‘Ilal al-Fasi. Adapun inovasi yang digagas oleh Al-Najjar dalam kajian maqasid al-shari‘ah terletak pada klasifikasi maqasid al-shari‘ah menjadi empat tujuan utama, yaitu melindungi nilai kehidupan manusia (hifzh qimat al-hayah al-insaniyyah), melindungi esensi manusia (hifzh al-dzat al-insaniyyah), menjaga masyarakat (hifzh al-mujtama’) dan menjaga lingkungan fisik (hifzh al-muhit al-maddi). {"title":"RE-READING HATTA'S THINKING IN MOVEMENT: BETWEEN ISLAM AND NATIONALISM","authors":"Rian Wahyudin","doi":"10.15408/mimbar.v38i1.21005","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15408/mimbar.v38i1.21005","url":null,"abstract":"Abstract. This article reviews the perspectives of Mohammad Hatta as one of the Indonesian founding fathers in regards between Islam and nationalism. Many scholars, historians, and intellectuals have deemed that Hatta was a secular nationalist who separated national propositions from religious values. Whereas, on the contrary, both his actions and thoughts were in line with the noble of Islamic values, not only when he wanted to establish the Indonesian Islamic Democratic Party in 1967 with several other activists such as alumni of Islamic Students Association (HMI), PII, the Indonesian Islamic Syarikat Party, and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figures, but also Hatta's Islamic integrity already seen during the movement, when he was active in both the Indonesian Association (PI) organization in 1921-1930 and the Indonesian National Education (PNI Baru) in 1931-1932. For instance, Hatta proposed his thoughts on peace, which he took from Qur’an surah al-Fatihah verse two. According to him, the concept of peace is the highest law in Islam; therefore, every free nation must uphold peace. He continued, the statement \"God is the Most Gracious and Most Merciful\" must be applied to create security and convenience among human beings. In February 1927, while serving as the administrator of the Indonesian Association in the Netherlands, Hatta and Nazir Pamontjak, Ahmad Subardjo, Gatot Tarumihardja, and Abdul Manaf were serving as the administrator of the Indonesian Association became delegators at the presidium meeting \"Congress Against Imperialism and Colonial Oppression.\" This event was organized by the “League Against Imperialism and for National Independence” in Brussels, Belgium. There Hatta and his fellows sat on a par with delegates from other countries such as Chen Kuen and Liau Hansen (China), Roger Baldwin (United States), Jawaharlal Nehru (India), Willi Munzenberg and Georg Ledebour (Germany), and several delegates from France, Belgium, Latin America, England, and Czechoslovakia to oppose all forms of oppression and demand the independence of Indonesia and other occupied countries to achieve world peace. Moreover, the identity of Mohammad Hatta is known well as a figure who came from a family of well-known merchants and scholars in Minang, coupled with his expertise in associating with nationalist figures, made Islamic integrity not appeared by attributive religious symbols, but rather by his behavior, thoughts, and attitudes in everyday life. This study aims to describe the value of local wisdom contained in the Tomanurung period. This research uses ethno pedagogical method. The technique of collecting data through interviews, interviewed informants came from several academic circles (lecturers) as many as 6 people. Researchers also interviewed 6 community leaders. This post-chaos period is called the Tomanurung period with a character named Simpurusiang in Bugis language, “Simpurusiang” implies “a strong and unbroken binder”. The condition of society is in a state of chaos and divorce. Because of this, they are looking for figures who can unite societies that have been divided and in chaos. Through a long search, they found the person they needed, namely a Tomanurung (the descendant) and they agreed to make him king through a “collective agreement” that is between Tomanurung and people's representatives. According to the perspective of the Luwu community, Tomanurung means a person who descends from heaven or heaven. Tomanurung did not know the news of his arrival beforehand, suddenly appeared and his presence was being awaited to fix the chaotic situation. Therefore, Tomanurung for the people of Luwu and Bugis-Makassar is generally considered a savior, unifier and continuation of royal life. So the value of human behavior in the past, which was the source of the lontaraq pappaseng script, such as adele’ (fair), lempu' (honest), getteng (firm), Abbulo Sibatang. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengambarkan nilai kearifan lokal yang terdapat dalam periode Tomanurung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnopedagogi. Teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui wawancara, informan yang diwawancarai berasal dari beberapa kalangan dari akademis (Dosen) sebanyak 6 orang. Peneliti juga, mewawancarai kalangan tokoh masyarakat sebanyak 6 orang. Periode pasca chaos ini disebut dengan periode Tomanurung dengan tokohnya bernama Simpurusiang dalam Bahasa Bugis, “Simpurusiang” mengandung makna “pengikat yang kuat dan tidak putus-putus”. Karena kondisi masyarakat dalam keadaan kacau dan bercerai berai. Karena itu, mereka mencari tokoh yang dapat mempersatukan masyarakat yang telah bercerai-berai dan dalam keadaan kacau (chaos). Melalui pencarian yang panjang, maka ditemukanlah orang yang mereka perlukan yaitu seorang Tomanurung (orang turun) dan mereka sepakat menjadikannya raja melalui suatu “perjanjian bersama” yaitu antara Tomanurung dengan wakil-wakil rakyat. Menurut persfektif masyarakat Luwu, Tomanurung artinya orang yang turun dari langit atau kayangan. Tomanurung tidak diketahui berita kedatangannya terlebih dahulu, tiba-tiba muncul dan kehadirannya memang sedang ditunggu-tunggu untuk memperbaiki keadaan yang sedang kacau. Around 2017 women wearing face-veil has been increase in Indonesia. Nevertheless, high perceptions and behavioral discrimination are still experienced by most face-veiled women in their daily social life. This can be harming happiness which is an important psychological condition for every individual furthermore. Through sample of 199 participants of early adult women who wearing face-veil from big cities area, OHQ scale (Hills & Argyle, 2002) was used to measure happiness, MMS scale (Dasti & Sitwat, 2014) for Islamic spirituality, and IPC scale (Levenson, 1981) for locus of control. Validity test is done firstly by CFA method and Lisrel software. Then a multiple analysis method (MRA) was carried out to test the effect through SPSS software. Analysis results of this study indicated there is a significant effect of Islamic spirituality and locus of control towards happiness of face-veiled women in big cities, with statistical value at 55.1%. Whereas regression coefficient results showed that four sub-variables that contributed significantly are self discipline, feelings connectedness with Allah, meanness-generosity, and internal locus. The author hopes that the implications of the research results will be reviewed and developed in further research by further examining what factors are the fourth factors and deepening the information on things that will increase happiness, especially in certain groups, such as women wearing face-veil. Abstrak. Sekitar tahun 2017 perempuan yang memakai cadar di Indonesia meningkat. Meski demikian, persepsi dan diskriminasi perilaku yang tinggi masih dialami oleh sebagian besar perempuan bercadar dalam kehidupan sosial sehari-hari. Hal ini dapat merusak kebahagiaan yang merupakan kondisi psikologis penting bagi setiap individu selanjutnya. Melalui 199 sampel partisipan wanita dewasa awal yang memakai cadar dari wilayah kota besar, skala OHQ (Hills & Argyle, 2002) digunakan untuk mengukur kebahagiaan, skala MMS (Dasti & Sitwat, 2014) untuk spiritualitas Islam, dan skala IPC. (Levenson, 1981) untuk lokus kendali. Uji validitas dilakukan terlebih dahulu dengan metode CFA dan software Lisrel. Kemudian dilakukan metode analisis berganda (MRA) untuk menguji pengaruh tersebut melalui software SPSS. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara spiritualitas Islam dan locus of control terhadap kebahagiaan perempuan bercadar di kota-kota besar, dengan nilai statistik sebesar 55,1%. Sedangkan hasil koefisien regresi menunjukkan bahwa empat sub variabel yang memberikan kontribusi signifikan adalah disiplin diri, perasaan keterhubungan dengan Allah SWT, sifat-sifat murah hati, dan lokus internal. Trend ekonomi Islam (ekonomi syariah) terus mengalami kemajuan yang signifikan seiring dengan kebijakan pemerintah yang terus mengupayakan agar ekonomi tersebut dapat diterapkan di berbagai segi kehidupan, termasuk di dalamnya untuk menggerakan kemajuan Majelis Taklim (MT). Keberadaan MT telah memiliki aturan resmi pemerintah berdasarkan Undang Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional (UU Sisdiknas) Nomor: 20 tahun 2003 dan Peraturan Pemerintah (PP). 55 tahun 2007 serta Peraturan Menteri Agama (PMA) No. 29 tahun 2019. Jumlah riil MT di Indonesia diyakini mencapai ratusan ribu tempat mengingat di setiap ada komunitas muslim di situ muncul kegiatan MT. Mereka memerlukan sosialisasi tentang ekonomi syariah sekaligus memberdayakan mereka dengan program yang menggerakan ekonomi kreatif. Kesenjangan kompetensi di kalangan guru. Kesiapan keluarga (orang tua) dalam pembelajaran online. Artikel ini mencoba mengelaborasi dilemma pembelajaran online.Tulisan ini menyimpulkan bahwa sangat penting dan relevan bagi guru dan dosen untuk membekali diri mereka dengan teori dan prinsip pembelajaran daring sebelum melaksanakannya. Guru dan dosen wajib terus belajar meningkatkan pemahaman dan kompetensi mereka terkait pembelajaran online ini dengan segala variannya. Keberhasilan guru dalam melakukan pembelajaran daring pada situasi pandemi Covid-19 ini berdasarkan kemampuan guru dalam berinovasi merancang, dan meramu materi, metode pembelajaran, dan aplikasi apa yang sesuai dengan materi dan metode. Kreatifitas merupakan kunci sukses dari seorang guru untuk dapat memotivasi siswanya tetap semangat dalam belajar secara online dan tidak menjadi beban psikis. Abstract. Online learning requires a variety of preparations from various things, schools, parents and the government. Unfortunately, during online learning there are several phenomena that are important to note regarding its effectiveness, namely: unequal availability of internet service infrastructure networks. This paper concludes that it is very important and relevant for teachers and lecturers to equip themselves with the theory and principles of online learning before implementing them. Teachers and lecturers are required to continue learning to improve their understanding and competence related to online learning in all its variants. The success of teachers in conducting online learning in the Covid-19 pandemic situation is based on the ability of teachers to innovate in designing and concocting materials, learning methods, and what applications are in accordance with the materials and methods. The verses of the Qur’an are not revealed as a whole at once, but gradually. The letters he sent were not the same in length and in short, sometimes they were sent in full and sometimes only in part. Through the study of literature, the article concludes that the gradual revelation of the Qur'an a lot of wisdom that will be obtained that is to set the heart of the Prophet, weaken his opponents, easy to understand and memorize, the arrangement will be in accordance with traffic events. The gradual revelation of the verses of the Qur’an gives some wisdom among them: strengthening the heart of the Prophet Muhammad SAW; Easy to memorize and understand; the believers are enthusiastic in accepting the Qur’an and actively practicing it; Accompanying events in society and gradually in establishing a law; weakening his opponents (miracles), and challenging the disbelievers who deny the Qur’an. Abstrak. Ayat-ayat al-Qur’an tidaklah diturunkan keseluruhan sekaligus secara, tetapi secara berangsur-angsur. Surat-surat yang diturunkanya pun tidak sama jumlah panjang dan pendeknya, terkadang diturunkan sekaligus secara penuh dan terkadang sebagianya saja. Melalui kajian pustaka, Artikel menyimpulkan bahwa diturunkanya al-Qur’an secara berangsur-angsur banyak hikmah yang akan diperoleh yaitu menetapkan hati Rasulullah, melemahkan lawan-lawannya, mudah difahami dan dihafal, penyusunannya akan sesuai dengan lalulintas peristiwa atau kejadian. This study uses a causal relationship design with a quantitative approach. The study participants were 220 women who have partners from different cultures. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used is a modification of the Marital Adjustment Questionaire (MAQ), Self Compassion Scale (SCS) and Assesing Emotional Scale (AES). Testing the validity of the measuring instrument used the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) technique and the data analysis technique used the Structural Equotion Model (SEM). The results showed that the model fit with data. The direct effect of self compassion on the marital adjustment of married women for different cultures is -0.17. Meanwhile, the indirect effect of self compassion on the marital adjustment of married women with different cultures through emotional intelligence is 0.209. This shows that emotional intelligence acts as a mediator variable for the influence between self-compassion and marital adjustments on women’s with couples from different cultures. This research recommends the importance of this model as a reference for making special pre-marital training programs for married couples with different cultures, by prioritizing the role of emotional intelligence. Abstrak. Tujuan penleitian ini adalah menguji fit model emotional intelligence sebagai mediator pengaruh self compassion terhadap marital adjustment wanita dengan pasangan beda budaya. Dinamika yang terjadi pada wanita yang memiliki pasangan beda budaya menjadi sorotan dalam hal kemampuan untuk menyesuaikan dalam pernikahan, guna tercapainya pernikahan yang sakinah mawaddah wa rahmah. For this reason, understanding the current situation and conditions is important to be a concern. This paper tries to explain the tendency of the current situation and conditions in the context of evaporation of the Pancasila values. The related literature study was used by the autor to compile the main idea points referring to the current situation and conditions and the need for a relevant mindset to contemporary times without losing the essence of strengthening the values of Pancasila. It was hoped that this paper may be a contribution of thought for stakeholders in relation to efforts to strengthen Pancasila as a unifying philosophy and life guide for elements of the Republic of Indonesia. Untuk itu, pemahaman terhadap situasi dan kondisi berjalan penting untuk menjadi perhatian. Tulisan ini mencoba memaparkan kecenderungan situasi dan kondisi saat ini dalam konteks penguapan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Kajian pustaka terkait digunakan penulis untuk merangkai pokok-pokok pikiran merujuk kepada trend situasi dan kondisi berjalan dan perlunya pola pikir yang relevan dengan masa kontemporer tanpa menghilangkan esensi penguatan nilai-nilai Pancasila. The four stages of Framing Entmant include: Define Problem, Diagnose Cause, Make moral judgment and Treatment recommendation. This study uses theanalysis method framing Robert N. Entmanwith a qualitative approach. The results show that the Define Problem in reporting related to government policy in cooperating with influencers is not considered the right choice, Diagnose cause is shown in the indifference of the millennial generation in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic, Make moral judgment in the form of affirming that influencers are not paid in this program as a form of their contribution to the country, and the treatment recommendation offered is for the government to provide influencers with a strong understanding of covid-19 before becoming a mediator to deliver messages for millennials. Online media is a public space that is considered important as a reference in increasing public information literacy, so that the news is expected to be more objective and educational. Abstrak. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentikasi pemberitaan terkait kinerja Bandan Penanggunalangan Covid-19 dalam tiga media online edisi 20-23 Maret 2020. Pembingkaian pemberitaan melalui empat tahap yaitu, definisi problem, diagnosis penyebab, penyusunan keputusan moral/etika dan rekomendasi. Kajian ini menggunakan metode analisis pembingkaian dari Robert N. Entwan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam tahap difinisi permasalahan dalam pemberitaan terkait kebijakan pemerintah bekerjasama dengan influencer dianggap sebagai pilihan yang tidak tepat. Tahap diagnosis penyebab ditunjukkan dengan ketidakpedulian generasi milenial dalam menyikapi pandemi Covid-19. Tahap penilaian moral dan etika dalam bentuk menegaskan bahwa influencer tidak dibayar dalam program ini sebagai bentuk kontribusinya kepada Negara. Sedangkan dalam rekomendasi pengobatan yang ditawarkan adalah agar pemerintah memberikan pemahaman yang kuat tentang covid-19 kepada influencer sebelum menjadi mediator untuk menyampaikan pesan kepada milenial.
