This article discusses to answer the question how is the strategy of Kyai Zainuddin Amir's da'wah in spreading Islamic values in the Baduy Tribe community? The Baduy tribe is an inland tribe located in Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, Republic of Indonesia. The Baduy tribe is divided into two, namely the Inner Baduy and the Outer Baduy. The results of this study indicate that Kyai Zainuddin Amir's missionary strategy is to use two approaches, the first is fardiyah propaganda or an interpersonal communication approach and the second is to establish the Sultan Hasanuddin Al-Jawi Modern Islamic Boarding School which is located around the Baduy community area in Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The Sultan Hasanuddin Al-Jawi Islamic Boarding School which he founded was part of Kyai Zainuddin Amir's da'wah strategy in spreading Islamic values to the Baduy tribe. A number of Baduy people choose Islam as their religion. Their Islamic procession was guided by Kyai Zainuddin Amir at his pesantren. The research methodology used in this study is a qualitative research methodology with a descriptive analysis approach. To obtain the validity of the data, the researcher will conduct in-depth interviews with sources relevant to the substance of the research problem. All data obtained in the form of documents, interviews, and observations were analyzed with a constructivist perspective.Keywords: strategy; da'wah; Kyai Zainuddin Amir; baduy tribeAbstrak. Artikel ini membahas menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana strategi dakwah Kyai Zainuddin Amir dalam menyebarkan nilai-nilai Islam pada masyarakat Suku Baduy? Suku Baduy adalah suku pedalaman yang terletak di Kecamatan Leuwidamar, Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten, Republik Indonesia. Suku Baduy terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu Baduy Dalam dan Baduy Luar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi dakwah Kyai Zainuddin Amir menggunakan dua pendekatan, yang pertama adalah dakwah fardiyah atau pendekatan komunikasi interpersonal dan yang kedua adalah mendirikan Pondok Pesantren Modern Sultan Hasanuddin Al-Jawi yang berlokasi di sekitar Baduy. masyarakat di Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten. Pesantren Sultan Hasanuddin Al-Jawi yang didirikannya merupakan bagian dari strategi dakwah Kyai Zainuddin Amir dalam menyebarkan nilai-nilai Islam kepada suku Baduy. Sejumlah orang Baduy memilih Islam sebagai agama mereka. Prosesi keislaman mereka dipandu oleh Kyai Zainuddin Amir di pesantrennya. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metodologi penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Untuk memperoleh keabsahan data, peneliti akan melakukan wawancara mendalam dengan narasumber yang relevan dengan substansi masalah penelitian. Studies should be able to measure a valid construct of tolerance in an effort to understand it further. Ferrar (1979) conducted a research focusing on the concept of political tolerance and theorized political tolerance to have three dimensions, namely flexible, approval, and allowance. This study aims to construct a political tolerance scale based on Ferrar’s concept and dimensions. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) is employed to test the construct validity and dimensionality of the Political Tolerance Scale. Participants were 300 Indonesian-Muslims. The results support the Political Tolerance Scale as a unidimensional scale consists of flexible, approval, and allowance dimensions. However, the limitation of the samples’ characteristic suggests future studies to conduct further researches on samples with different characteristics.AbstractDalam ilmu perilaku politik, toleransi adalah merupakan elemen penting untuk menjaga keharmonisan hubungan. Kajian saintifik harus mampu mengukur konstruk toleransi yang valid dalam upaya memahaminya lebih jauh. Ferrar (1979) melakukan penelitian yang berfokus pada konsep toleransi politik dimana toleransi politik diteorikan memiliki tiga dimensi, yaitu fleksibel, persetujuan, dan pengakomodiran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkonstruksi alat ukur toleransi politik. Analisis faktor konfirmatori (CFA) digunakan untuk menguji validitas konstruk dan dimensi Skala Toleransi. Pesertanya adalah 300 orang Muslim Indonesia. Hasil yang didapat mendukung Skala Toleransi Politik sebagai skala unidimensional yang terdiri dari dimensi fleksibel, persetujuan, dan pengakomodiran. Namun, keterbatasan karakteristik sampel mendorong studi selanjutnya untuk melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut pada karakteristik sampel yang berbeda. This article is discusses about the modernist issues in the development of Islamic intellectualism, such as pluralism, liberalism, and secularism. To respond to these difficulties, Muslims must take the following steps: 1) paradigm of thinking, 2) open-mindedness and liberation from religious authoritarianism to open the door of ijtihad so that it is not treacherous in religion, 3) foundation in thinking (world view), namely the principles of life, 4) becoming accustomed to always giving rational arguments and providing information in terms of truth, 5) understanding the function of reason and revelation and not being clashed. Intellectualism in Islam may be fostered through increasing the roles of reason and revelation, which should not conflict with one another. Revelation will be an extreme doctrine in the absence of reason, and reason will be tasteless and undirected in the absence of revelation.Abstrak. Artikel ini membahas tentang isu-isu modernis dalam perkembangan intelektualisme Islam, seperti pluralisme, liberalisme, dan sekularisme. Untuk menjawab kesulitan-kesulitan tersebut, umat Islam harus mengambil langkah-langkah berikut: 1) paradigma berpikir, 2) keterbukaan pikiran dan pembebasan dari otoritarianisme agama untuk membuka pintu ijtihad agar tidak berkhianat dalam agama, 3) landasan berpikir ( pandangan dunia), yaitu prinsip-prinsip kehidupan, 4) membiasakan diri untuk selalu memberikan argumentasi yang rasional dan memberikan informasi yang benar, 5) memahami fungsi akal dan wahyu serta tidak berbenturan. Intelektualisme dalam Islam dapat dibina melalui peningkatan peran akal dan wahyu, yang tidak boleh saling bertentangan. This study found that in the Buton sultanate, there was a side of the Tarekat Sammaniyah which had several features and shortcomings. First, Muhammad ‘Aydru, a sultan who studied the the Tarekat Sammaniyah from a Mekkah scholar. Second, the spread of the Tarekat Sammaniyah only developed among the nobles in the Buton Sultanate. The teaching style of the Tarekat Sammaniyah is not much different from the primary source text, specifically, al-Nafahat al-Ilahiyah by Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Karim al-Samman. This shows a strong indication of the interaction between 'Aydrus and local Sammaniyah role models through the lineage of 'Abd al-Samad. However, there are several traditions of remembrance that are slightly different from the Sammaniyah taught by 'Abd al-Samad. This can be seen when 'Aydrus puts recitation of tahlil at an advanced level, while 'Abd al-Samad makes remembrance at the beginner level. However, there was no difference at all in the procedures for remembrance of the adab.AbstrakArtikel ini membahas tentang sisilah sanad dan corak ajaran Tarekat Sammaniyah di Kesultanan Buton. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa di kesultanan Buton terdapat sisilah Tarekat Sammaniyah memiliki beberapa keistimewaan juga menjadi kekurangan. Pertama, Muhammad ‘Aydrus yang seorang sultan mempelajari Tarekat Sammaniyah kepada seorang ulama Makkah. Kedua, penyebaran tarekat Sammaniyah hanya berkembang di kalangan bangsawan yang berada di Kesultanan Buton. Adapun corak ajaran Tarekat Sammaniyah tidak jauh berbeda dengan teks sumber utamanya, yaitu al-Nafahat al-Ilahiyah karya Muhammad bin ‘Abd al-Karim al-Samman. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya indikasi kuat interaksi antara ‘Aydrus dengan tokoh-tokoh Sammaniyah lokal melalui jalur silsilah ‘Abd al-Samad. Namun ada beberapa tradisi zikir yang sedikit berbeda dengan Sammaniyah yang diajarkan ‘Abd al-Samad. Ini terlihat saat ‘Aydrus menempatkan zikir tahlil pada tingkatan lanjutan, sedangkan ‘Abd al-Samad menjadikan zikir pada tingkatan pemula. Namun pada akhirnya tidak ada perbedaan sama sekali pada tatacara berzikir padab-adab. This article discusses religious behaviour related to Hajj and Umrah which have become a form of commodification of religion. Hajj and Umrah, as two types of religious rituals in Islam, are extensively interrelated with other existing social institutions. Therefore, they have a more complex association compared to other religious rituals. Hajj and Umrah have not only given birth to various meanings for those who perform the rituals, but also become a tourism industry with a wide and promising market share. Hajj and Umrah seem to be able to change other religious behaviours such as the increase of obedience’s intensity in worshiping God. In addition, Hajj and Umrah in Indonesia are not only packaged and marketed as profitable commodities, but also used as tools for criminal acts. Abstrak. Artikel ini membahas tentang perilaku keagamaan terkait haji dan umrah yang telah menjadi bentuk komodifikasi agama. Haji dan Umrah, sebagai dua jenis ritual keagamaan dalam Islam, sangat erat kaitannya dengan pranata sosial lain yang ada. Oleh karena itu, mereka memiliki asosiasi yang lebih kompleks dibandingkan dengan ritual keagamaan lainnya. Haji dan Umrah tidak hanya melahirkan berbagai makna bagi yang menunaikan ibadah haji, tetapi juga menjadi industri pariwisata dengan pangsa pasar yang luas dan menjanjikan. Haji dan Umrah tampaknya mampu mengubah perilaku keagamaan lainnya seperti peningkatan intensitas ketaatan dalam beribadah kepada Allah. This research examines two tafsir works of Ahmad Sanusi Malja’ al thalibin fi tafsiri kalami robbil alamin (in Sundanese) and Tamsiyat al muslimin fi tafsiri kalami Robbil Alamin (Indonesian Bahasa), exploring the messages of anti-colonialism related to justice. This research employs Hermeneutics for the analysis of Sanusi’s messages. This approach provides understanding the social, political, cultural context of the production of the text. This study shows that tafsir has been an inspiration, medium, and tool to shape anti colonial awareness among Sundanese people particularly in Sukabumi region. The resistance is aimed at the Dutch colonial government as well as the religious bureaucrats well known as Pakauman Ulama. Among Sanusi’s criticism that he delivers in his tafsir is about an injustice act done by the colonial government in particular Pakauman Ulama on his isolation as they give support to the exile policy. Historical context of Sanusi’s isolation caused by the conflict between Sanusi and colonial government and the worry of the influence of Sanusi’s ideas of anticolonial sentiment among people. In the literature of tafsir studies so far, it is limited discussion on tafsir material on criticism or as medium of resistance. Abstrak. Penelitian ini mengkaji dua karya tafsir Ahmad Sanusi Malja’ al thalibin fi tafsiri kalami robbil alamin (dalam bahasa Sunda) dan Tamsiyat al muslimin fi tafsiri kalami Robbil Alamin (Bahasa Indonesia), menggali pesan-pesan antikolonialisme yang berkaitan dengan keadilan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Hermeneutika untuk menganalisis pesan-pesan Sanusi. Pendekatan ini memberikan pemahaman konteks sosial, politik, budaya dari produksi teks. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa tafsir telah menjadi inspirasi, media, dan alat untuk membentuk kesadaran anti kolonial di kalangan masyarakat Sunda khususnya di wilayah Sukabumi. Perlawanan tersebut ditujukan kepada pemerintah kolonial Belanda serta para birokrat agama yang dikenal dengan sebutan Pakauman Ulama. Di antara kritik Sanusi yang ia sampaikan dalam tafsirnya adalah tentang tindakan ketidakadilan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah kolonial khususnya Pakauman Ulama atas pengucilannya karena mereka mendukung kebijakan pengasingan. Konteks historis keterasingan Sanusi yang disebabkan oleh konflik antara Sanusi dan pemerintah kolonial dan kekhawatiran pengaruh gagasan Sanusi tentang sentimen antikolonial di kalangan masyarakat. Literacy essentially means reading and writing. With the recent development of science, literacy has a broader meaning. It can be used in sharing scientific studies, such as media literacy. The author also conducts action research by going directly to the village community by conducting media literacy. By using communication media for village development, and the potential possessed by the village in terms of education, social and economy, it is hoped that the village will be more advanced and develop. Abstrak. Artikel ini merupakan penelitian dengan pendekatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif. Data diperoleh dari dokumen dan informan melalui survey wawancara. Literasi pada hakikatnya bermakna membaca dan menulis, dengan kata lain adalah melek aksara, dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan belakangan ini, literasi memiliki makna yang lebih luas, literasi bisa digunakan dalam berbagi kajian ilmu pengetahuan, seperti literasi media. Penulis juga melakukan action research dengan terjun langsung ke masyarakat desa dengan melakukan literasi media. The reputation and authority of al-Ghaza li in Islamic thought has had a profound influence as well as is controversial and ambivalent. His character covers almost all scientific disciplines in Islam. In the field of philosophy, the response to his thinking generated controversy that lasted for centuries. On the one hand, he is assumed to be a central figure for the decline of Islamic thought, especially philosophy, and is considered the most successful thinker in positioning philosophy proportionally in the Islamic world on the other. This paper discusses the philosophical thinking of al-Ghaza li, his criticisms of the thoughts of previous philosophers, and responses to his thoughts in the hope that they can provide conclusions that are quite \"fair\" and proportionate in positioning al-Ghazali in the islamic philosophy discourse. Abstrak. Reputasi dan otoritas al-Ghazali dalam jagad pemikiran Islam memiliki pengaruh yang begitu besar sekaligus kontroversial dan ambivalen. Ketokohannya meliputi hampir seluruh diskursus disiplin keilmuan dalam Islam. Dalam bidang filsafat, respons terhadap pemikirannya menuai kontroversi yang beralangsung berabad-abad. Satu sisi ia diasumsikan sebagai tokoh sentral atas kemunduran pemikiran dalam Islam, terutama filsafat, dan dianggap sebagai pemikir yang paling sukses dalam memposisikan filsafat secara proporsional dalam dunia Islam di sisi lain. Basically, the study of sectarianism refers to the problem of understanding within a certain group, school, or belief. However, in its development this term has developed and is almost always associated with the study of the fanaticism of the madzhab (al-ta’asshubiyyah) and political partisans (al-hizbiyyah). Therefore, sectarianism as an ideology or ism often creates negative-destructive consequences, especially by creating a heroic attitude in defending the group as well as opposing other groups who are not in the same direction. In fact, not infrequently it creates radical attitudes on other parties in the name of the truth (read: religion) which they believe. This paper discusses sectarianism in Islam by using \"multiple objects\"; analysis of the Khawarij group as a portrait of classical sectarianism that had occurred in the early days of Islam as well as pulling it back to the present by analyzing the Majlis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI) as a portrait of sectarianism that occurred in Indonesia in a modern context.. Abstrak. Pada dasarnya, kajian tentang sektarianisme merujuk pada persoalan sempalan paham dalam sebuah golongan, mazhab, maupun kepercayaan tertentu. Namun dalam perkembangannya istilah ini berkembang dan hampir selalu dikaitkan dengan kajian fanatisme madzhab (al-ta’asshubiyyah) dan partisan politik (al-hizbiyyah). Karena itu, sektarianisme sebagai sebuah paham atau isme seringkali memunculkan konsekuensi-konsekuensi negatif-destruktif terutama dengan memunculkan sikap heroik dalam membela kelompoknya sekaligus pertentangan kepada kelompok lain yang tidak searah. Bahkan tak jarang menimbulkan sikap-sikap radikal pada pihak lain atas nama kebenaran (baca: agama) yang diyakininya. This article reviews R. M. P. Sosrokartono's thoughts about the perfect human being. He defines a perfect being as a person who is able to live up to the knowledge of ngawoelo dateng kawoelaning Goesti. In order to have such life and behavior that reflect the attributes of God by loving and maintaining the wholeness of God's creation, therefore, the alignment must be based on catur murti. That is, to be able to unite and balance feelings, thoughts, words, and actions. The union of the four components is based on the value of truth so that the actualization in life becomes the proper thought, feeling, word, and action. That is the perfect being who will become caliph on earth. Abstrak. Artikel ini mengulas pemikiran R. M. P. Sosrokartono tentang manusia paripurna. Baginya, manusia paripurna adalah manusia yang mampu menghayati ilmu ngawoelo dateng kawoelaning Goesti. Sehingga hidup dan perilakunya akan mencerminkan sifat-sifat Tuhan dengan cara mencintai dan menjaga keutuhan ciptaan Tuhan. Penyelarasan itu harus didasari oleh catur murti. Yaitu, mampu menyatukan sekaligus menyeimbangkan antara perasaan, pikiran, perkataan, dan perbuatan. Penyatuan empat komponen tersebut berdasarkan pada nilai kebenaran, sehingga penyatuan itu menjadi pikiran yang benar, perasaan yang benar, perkataan yang benar dan perbuatan yang benar.
