Although this growth in productivity has positive consequences, it also contributes to the aggravation of an environmental problem, the generation of waste. The utilization of residues emerges as an alternative to reduce agroindustrial losses and a great way to accomplish this utilization is the production of flour, considering that flour obtained from fruit residues present advantages over cereal flour such as higher preservation of nutritional values, shorter drying time, different physical and chemical properties. Thus, this study aims to obtain a flour from the pineapple and cashew tree stalk residues, as well as characterize it in terms of its physicochemical properties. The residues were obtained and sent for drying at 60 ° C for 24 hours with air velocity of 1.5 m.s-1. After drying, the product was subjected to unitary grinding operation using a knife mill, resulting in three types of flour: Pineapple residue flour, Cashew stalk residue flour and Flour made from the pineapple and cashew apple blend (1: 1 ratio). And later they were submitted to the physicochemical analyzes. The three flours met the standards established by the legislation regarding the moisture content, as well as having a high carbohydrate concentration and a low water activity, factors that evidence the high fiber content and the low susceptibility to degradation, respectively.","PeriodicalId":176700,"journal":{"name":"DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO E VALORIZAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL: CAMINHOS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO TECNOLÓGICO E SOCIAL","volume":"492 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122750891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The terms self-consumption and diversity are key words for understanding the use of natural resources in these common family spaces, which combine conservation and the possibility of extra income. The objective of this study was to survey the main species of plants in agroforestry backyards located in an urban neighborhood of Santarém-PA. To this end, 48 interviews were conducted containing open and closed questions about the diversity, purpose and use of backyard plants. To this end, 48 interviews were conducted containing open and closed questions about the diversity, purpose and use of backyard plants. The data were systematized and executed using the Microsoft Excel 2013 software. We identified 413 individuals distributed in 113 species, among which, the most important were for use medicinal, food and shading. Regarding the frequency of species in the backyards, we highlight the species Melissa officinalis (43.75%), Mangifera indica (41.67%), Citrus limonia (40%), Musa spp (37.50%) and Peumus boldus (31.25%). In this sense it was also evaluated the diversity in the composition of the backyards which according to the Shannon-Weaver index (H ') parameters was 4.23 thus showing that the backyards under study are diverse in their composition. As for use, those intended for food use (45%) and those intended for medical use (34%) predominated. The results of this study also showed that the most consumed part of the plant was the fruit, followed by the leaf. Thus, it is concluded that the urban backyards surveyed have a great diversity of species, which are used and managed by residents to guarantee the supply of products for their own consumption, especially food.","PeriodicalId":176700,"journal":{"name":"DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO E VALORIZAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL: CAMINHOS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO TECNOLÓGICO E SOCIAL","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117330268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Biofuel production consists of the transesterification reaction of an oil with a short chain alcohol, which results in the oil (Biodiesel) together with glycerine as a byproduct, which is separated by decantation. To purify the end product of this reaction, a slightly acidified water wash is performed to remove certain impurities from the oil. This water is called wastewater because it contains a high amount of polluting materials which pose a threat to public health and the environment. Thus, this waste water should not be disposed of without proper treatment. Among several ways of disposal for wastewater is reuse for irrigation, because these waters may contain nutrients essential to plant development. The objective of this work was to evaluate the indicators of water quality from biodiesel washing. The parameters for sunflower crop irrigation were evaluated because it is a crop resistant to various climates, temperatures and a higher yielding oilseed for biodiesel production. Indicators for water analysis were pH, temperature, conductivity, alkalinity and acidity, dissolved oxygen (DO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrates, total hardness, calcium and magnesium hardness, chlorides, turbidity, sodium (Na), potassium (K) and lithium (Li) of which dissolved oxygen, acidity, pH and conductivity. From the results obtained, for the analyzed water to be within the irrigation standards only corrections of some parameters were necessary: adjustment of pH, being possible to carry out studies with diluted proportions of this residual water; perform nitrate quantification and; reduction of the amount of lithium ion.","PeriodicalId":176700,"journal":{"name":"DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO E VALORIZAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL: CAMINHOS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO TECNOLÓGICO E SOCIAL","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129471158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the analysis of the questionnaires it was possible to notice a greater proximity and knowledge about the theme by the students of the PROEJA class. The research showed that the students studied recognize the importance of the use of medicinal plants and that they prefer the use of medicinal plants even though they have access to pharmacy medicines, which leads us to understand that the lack of access and the high prices of medicines are not always. Allopathic medicines, as well as the precariousness of public health care are unique criteria for inclination to choose medicinal plants as an alternative to health treatments.","PeriodicalId":176700,"journal":{"name":"DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO E VALORIZAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL: CAMINHOS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO TECNOLÓGICO E SOCIAL","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122532253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
