Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the knowledge of students from two subsequent high school classes of IFPA Campanha Castanhal about medicinal plants. The research had a qualitative nature and for data collection, structured and semi-structured questionnaires were applied to 29 students, corresponding to two classes of the Integrated High School Agricultural Technician Course, one regular, and the other from the National Program of Integration of Vocational Education with Basic Education in the EJA PROEJA modality that works under the principles of the Alternation Pedagogy. From the analysis of the questionnaires it was possible to notice a greater proximity and knowledge about the theme by the students of the PROEJA class. The research showed that the students studied recognize the importance of the use of medicinal plants and that they prefer the use of medicinal plants even though they have access to pharmacy medicines, which leads us to understand that the lack of access and the high prices of medicines are not always. Allopathic medicines, as well as the precariousness of public health care are unique criteria for inclination to choose medicinal plants as an alternative to health treatments.
