Accumulation of significant amount of solid waste at landfills and the implementation of economic tools aimed at promoting electricity generation from landfill gas open wide opportunities to use landfill gas for electricity generation. However, despite the favourable conditions, nowadays a number of landfill gas power plants, which have been putting into operation in Ukraine, are insignificant. Given the fact that today the main economic tool for this sector development is the feed-in tariff, the estimation of cost for electricity generation from landfill gas and its comparison with the current feed-in tariff rate were carried out in order to understand, whether the feed-in tariff is sufficient to cover electricity generation. The study results have shown that the feed-in tariff for electricity generated from landfill gas is economically justified, and that non-price barriers slow down this sector development.","PeriodicalId":169630,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Energy Smart Systems (ESS)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128829803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, the control procedure of the energy performance, which provides an analysis of the dynamics of the specific energy consumption and is based on the use of Shewhart charts, is proposed. The limits of regulation of the Shewhart charts are set using the Six Sigma approach. The interpretation of the obtained zones and sub-zones in terms of energy efficiency is proposed. This allows performing a qualitative assessment of the energy performance of the facility. Energy efficiency zones are used as standards for specific energy consumption. Ways to setup alarms about the exceeding the standards that take into consideration the actual energy performance of the controlled facility and the target of its increasing are suggested. The method of comparative analysis of the energy performance of the group of facilities is proposed. For this purpose, the energy efficiency zones of better facility are suggested to use as standard. This approach is applied to control the energy performance of water intakes of the municipal water supply system. The analysis of the results allows performing a qualitative assessment of the energy performance of each water intake and identifying the presence (absence) of tendencies for its improvement (deterioration), including, with taking into consideration the achievements of better water intake. Two steps of the alarms setup for each water intake are proposed in order to inform the energy manager of the control results. The application of the proposed approach provides control over the keeping of the actual energy performance to the established standards, allows determining new targets for its improvement, which contributes to the continuous improvement of energy efficiency of the facility.","PeriodicalId":169630,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Energy Smart Systems (ESS)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123580377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In conditions of unstable economy, modern ore mining and processing enterprises must have a stable competitive position in the iron ore market in order to function effectively. Considering significant depreciation of fixed assets, the cost of production in the vast majority of such enterprises is quite high. This fact negatively affects their market positions. Outdated energy-intensive equipment consumes a significant amount of energy, the cost of which is reflected in the cost structure. Therefore, domestic ore mining and processing enterprises need prompt installation of grounded management decisions on improvement of the technical and technological base. Mining companies are one of the energy-intensive industries. This fact contributes to a steady increase in the level of energy consumption, and therefore, energy costs, which are included in the cost structure of the prime cost of iron-containing products, cause an increase in its price and negatively affect the financial condition of enterprises. It is a known fact, that if the price is higher, it is difficult to find promising markets for iron ore. In order to reduce the prime cost of iron ore products, there is an objective need for modernization and installation of innovative energy-saving technologies in ore mining and processing production. The aim of the research is to analyze the correlation between net financial result of an ore mining and processing enterprise, potential energy costs and the installation of effective management decisions, with their subsequent economic justification in order to improve energy efficiency. In addition, the article considers correlation between the level of technical and technological base and the crisis state at a particular enterprise.","PeriodicalId":169630,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Energy Smart Systems (ESS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114776009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Induction generators manufacturers don't provide sufficient information about their machines magnetizing curve, also induction machine idle mode test do not provide information about possible range of magnetizing current. However, induction generator operates on nonlinear descending part of magnetizing curve where the value of magnetizing current is high. Thus during the study of induction generator process of the magnetization curve approximation is necessary to carry out in this way that will make it possible to reliably describe the zone of high currents, which are impossible to be obtained experimentally. In this article, different methods of approximation of magnetizing curve are compared and analyzed.
