Further studies must explore the status of generic medicines in Qatar and the region, especially during the GCC crisis. The research goal is to assess whether the multi-sourced antidiabetic medication, Metformin Hydrochloride (MH) tablets marketed in Qatar and other selected worldwide locations fulfill the compendial quality control parameters and in vitro bioequivalence/interchangeability requirements. Could we safely replace branded Glucophage® with generic MH without compromising the patient’s interest? This laboratory experimental study assessed the quality control parameters and in vitro bioequivalence/interchangeability requirements of sixteen marketed products of MH tablets from 11 countries in addition to 33 MH products from Qatar’s market based on the US Pharmacopeia (USP 34) guideline recommendations. Content analysis test showed that the minimum amount was 96.9% in product S10 from the International samples and 97.1% for both Neomet (Q-N.m-1) and Glucophage (Q-G.Ph-2) from Qatar’s samples, while the maximum amount was 103.3% in product S4 (Formit 500) from the international market and 101.8% in product Q-Di-4, which is Dimet -500 from Qatar’s market. The rapid increase in the percentage of the drug release is noticed in products (S2-S6-S8-S9-S10-S12-S13-s15-S16–(Q-N.m-1)-(Q-Di-1)-(Q-Di-3)-(Q-D.ph-1)-(Q-D.ph-3)-(Q-M.ph-1)-(Q-M.ph-2)-(Q-G.m-3)) as they achieved the acceptance limit at the first time point (15 min). However, the products that showed the slowest release are (S4-S11-S14-(Q-D.Ph-3)). But, eventually, at 45 min, all the products passed the dissolution test. similarity factor results revealed that the Glucophage (S15) and (Q- G.Ph-5) were found to be the most similar products to the innovator brand Glucophage® (France) with the highest similarity factors (f2= 91.1%) and (f2 = 90.0%) respectively. This research has confirmed that not all the generics are exchangeable with the reference product Glucophage®.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49291165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A quantitative approach with a survey method was carried out to answer the first research objective. The questionnaire is filled out by prospective civil engineers who are final-year students of bachelor’s in civil engineering. Next, a descriptive analysis was conducted to provide an overview of the mastery of competencies. Finally, the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was carried out to answer the second research objective. The analyzed literature uses the Scopus Database with keywords that describe future work skills and competencies. Then the articles were then filtered using the PRISMA Diagram and analyzed with the help of the R program to produce a word cloud that describes the types of future skills needed. The research results show that 1) civil engineer candidates must increase competence in the application of natural sciences, humanities aspects for Civil Engineering, mechanics and fluids problems, formulation of solutions to problems relevant to Civil Engineering, engineering economics, probability concepts, and statistics. 2) They must develop future skills needed for prospective civil engineers: critical thinking, communication, professionalism, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and the principle of sustainability. The findings of this study serve as evaluation material and recommendations for civil engineering education providers to prepare prospective civil engineers with a global outlook.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41384699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Owing to this, the cost of testing is a significant component for consideration. The two main factors that measure the cost of the test are the size of the test vector sets and test data volume. Compression and compaction are the two approaches used to reduce the aforementioned factors. Compaction is a primary process in the test generation procedure, and there are two classes for it, i.e., dynamic and static compaction approaches. In this paper, the author performs testing and obtains the compact test vectors for various FPGA-based designs. The RASP-FIT fault injection testing tool provides the ATPG testing framework. In this paper, the testing is performed on various FPGA benchmark designs written in Verilog HDL, and the results are validated. The ATPG method developed under the RASP-FIT tool contains new hybrid compaction techniques that calculate compaction and fault coverage for the designs. This work is also compared with the previous work and found that the proposed compaction scheme is better at compacting the test vectors.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46846874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such is the case for Kompas Daily, one of the oldest mass media in Indonesia. Despite being banned nationally since 1966, communism is still a topic of discussion within media editorials. This research aims to present new evidence of the role of journalism in raising the issue of communism in the mass media during the regime transition from the Old Order to the New Order in Indonesia. This research uses the historiography method with a constructivist approach and found Kompas Daily editorial dynamics in responding to the issue of communism that occurred during the regime transition. The authors used data collected from the mass media, research studies, publications, online technology, interviews, and academic literature related to the communism issue in the Kompas Daily media practice, supported by a check-list for the classification of research materials, map of writing, and format of research notes. The study results show that when dealing with power, Kompas Daily practices swing journalism that adapts to developing situations and conditions. Swing media allows Kompas Daily to create a position that lets them maintain journalistic independence while remaining politically secure in accommodating the ruling regime.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41758340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is also resistance to chloroquine-based therapy, which highlights the need for novel therapeutic agents. Therefore, our project in exploring antiplasmodial agents from Garcinia Indonesia continues. This study evaluates the phytochemical content of G. bancana by the total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) and its in vitro antioxidant and antiplasmodial activities. The TPC and TFC values were determined using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer, while the antioxidant activity was determined using the DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP assays. Antiplasmodial activity against a chloroquine-sensitive strain 3D7 was evaluated using the Giemsa staining method. The highest TPC value of 195.75 ± 1.24 mg GAE/g was obtained from methanolic extract, while a TFC value of 82.79 ± 0.34 mg QE/g extract was found from dichloromethane extract. The methanolic extract exhibited the most potent antioxidant activity in the DPPH and FRAP assays with IC50 values of 6.07 ± 0.06 μg/ml and 74.35 ± 3.77 μM Fe2+/g, respectively. The n-hexane extract was found to be the most potent on ABTS antioxidant and antiplasmodial assays with IC50 values of 1.22 ± 0.02 μg/ml and 0.23 ± 0.01 μg/ml, respectively. Furthermore, the DPPH antioxidant was negatively correlated with antiplasmodial significantly at 0.05. These findings suggest that the n-hexane extract of G. bancana has great potential as a source of antioxidant and antiplasmodial compounds. To the best of our knowledge, this study provides microscopic evidence in addition to the strongest antiplasmodial efficacy of Garcinia extract.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43193066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The quantitatively designed study deployed a probability (simple random) sampling technique to collect the sample size (Yamane method) of 384 adolescents (smokers or non-smokers) living in the Abbottabad district of Pakistan. The study implemented the Hayes Process model for statistical examining the gathered data in SPSS 20. The empirical findings of the study depicted that perceived visibility of the graphic health warning threats has a positive impact in raising evoking emotions (fear, guilt, disgust), while perceived visibility significantly impacts the emotions (fear, guilt, disgust) of adolescents who smoke. Moreover, smoking status moderates the effects of guilty on the personal consideration of smoking. The results indicated the complete mediation for the indirect effect of the independent variable (perceived visibility) through mediators (fear, guilt, disgust) on dependent variables, i.e., personal and other people's attitudes toward smoking and beliefs about secondhand smoke. The novel empirical findings of the study revealed that adolescents who smoke have a higher level of fear and guilt than non-smokers. The study recommends using graphic warnings about the dangers of smoking to efficiently stimulate emotions in adolescents to manage adult smoking behavior.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41460585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Disasters that often occur due to climate change and subsidence result in the destruction of coastal communities' property, loss of life, agricultural land cannot produce optimally, and tsunamis, tidal floods, and liquefaction are increasingly common. If the incident is not addressed, it will lead to a more severe disaster, and the lives of coastal communities will be threatened. This research aims to assess the condition of coastal ecosystems, both coastal ecosystems, landscapes and seascapes, which are then assessed for the level of usage (economic), conservation (ecology), and the value of local wisdom (social). The method used includes three models: geographic information system (GIS), partial least square (PLS), and total economic value (TEV). GIS is used to assess the presence of landscapes and seascapes. PLS is used to assess public opinion and assessment of the existence of coastal ecosystems. TEV is used to assess the economy. The results of the study show that there are still many Pulo Doro beaches that have not been intervened by anthropogenic processes. The condition of the coastal ecosystem is still intact, although natural processes have begun stressing the coastal area due to the increasing wave height. The results of the PLS show that the community values the landscape as 0.753, the seascape assessment as 0.666, the assessment of the relationship between the landscape and the seascape as 0.841, the assessment of the condition of the Pulo Doro Coastal as 0.693, and efforts to develop a Pulo Doro coastal ecosystem management strategy 0.766. The results of the TEV calculation show that both the landscape and seascape show that the economic value is still not exploited much. The results of this study found a model for managing the coast based on landscape and seascape approaches.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43168344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In any organization, certain competencies acquired by employers are required, and that is where soft skills play an important and fundamental role in companies, soft skills are considered a holistic concept of competence that involves the mobilization of knowledge, attitudes, and values to meet complex demands [2]. The objective of this research was to design a model for the employability of companies in Mexico. The methodology used for this research was a quantitative approach, causal correlational scope, and non-experimental, translational, and causal correlational research design [3]. Factor analysis was used to prevent two variables from measuring the same and multiple regression to determine the influence of soft skills on employability [3] in large companies in transformation in the State of Hidalgo, Mexico. The research instrument contains 22 items with a Likert scale from totally agree to strongly disagree, with a Cronbach’s alpha of .830. The results were that the soft skills that influence employability are recognition, control of emotions, creative thinking, understanding of feelings, analytical reflections, own feelings and empathy, and relating and understanding with others; it could be concluded that hard work is needed with the integration of previous soft skills with employers.","PeriodicalId":15926,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44549810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
