A dehumidifier is used to reduce and regulate the humidity levels in the air, condenses air into liquid water, and collects dust, hence having three functions. The condensation of air into water is done with the help of the Peltier module. It is a heating and cooling thermal control module while Direct Current or DC fans contribute to the flow of the entrance and exit of the air in the dehumidifier. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the made Catching Dehumidifier was proved through the humidity level, amount of water and dust collected. This was done through the help of the Galaxy Sensors app, teaspoon measuring spoon, and dust paper collector. The results of the study shows that the dehumidifier helps in reducing the amount of humidity in the air, as it effectively lowered the humidity level in under 1 hour, collected water and dust in 2 different time intervals, as tested in the study. Finally, it allows the use of cost-effective materials that are also environmentally beneficial. The Catching Dehumidifier is capable of reducing high humidity levels in short-term time intervals, but not in long-term. However, its effectiveness was still proved by the amount of condensed water and dust collected; which is a vital role of a dehumidifier. Current and future researchers are welcome to change materials, which may produce a more efficient, cost-effective dehumidifier, and make better results. The Philippine School Doha (PSD), Qatar, and Philippine Community are urged to place dehumidifiers in their facilities to reduce molds, and allergies. This is especially helpful during summer.","PeriodicalId":153802,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Review","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126815111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, faced with national and international economic constraints, economists in the rice-growing and agricultural sectors still tend to propose purely economic intervention or support measures, while agronomists and those who trust the motivations of grassroots producers still resort to the dissemination of new cultivation approaches with the aim of increasing productivity. But the question that arises is how innovation can bring about changes in farming practices. Assuming that the innovations introduced have only a partial impact on agricultural practices and development, this study looks at the changes brought about by the new techniques in the agricultural practices of farmers in Lake Alaotra.","PeriodicalId":153802,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Review","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115361854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the various alternatives investigated for diesel replacement, biodiesel has emerged the most suitable. This research work focused on response surface optimization and engine emission analysis of rubber seed oil (RSO) biodiesel. The oil from rubber seed was solvent extracted and characterized based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) method. The fatty acid profile and the oil functional groups were determined using gas chromatography mass spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy respectively. The effect of process parameters on the yield of rubber seed oil biodiesel or rubber seed oil fatty acid methyl ester (RSOFAME) was investigated using one factor at a time method. The process parameters and RSOFAME yield were optimized using response surface methodology (RSM). The engine emission analysis of RSOFAME, diesel and their blends was carried out using Perkin 4:108 diesel engine. The oil content of RSO was determined as 40.02%. The RSO physiochemical properties were determined as, acid value, free fatty acid, saponification value, iodine value, peroxide value, kinematic viscosity, fire point, flash point, cloud point, pour point, refractive index specific gravity, moisture content, and density, 28.72mgKOHg-1, 14.36%, 185.66mgKOHg-1 120.4gI2100g-1, 14.62meqkg-1, 38.5mm2s-1 @ 400C, 1800C, 1320C, 60C, 20C 1.428, 0.92, 7%, 920Kgm-3, respectively. The RSOFAME fuel properties were determined as, density, kinematic viscosity, cetane number, flash point, cloud point, water content, acid value, calorific value, iodine value, and pour point, 880kgm-3 4.25mm2s-1 58.2, 1640C, 40C. 0.44%, 0.32mgKOHg-1, 38.5MJkg-1,72gI2100g-1, 20C, respectively. The optimum conditions suggested by the result analysis for maximum RSOFAME yield of 93% within the ranges studied were: methanol to oil molar ratio 7:1, catalyst concentration 0.75%wt, reaction temperature 500C, reaction time 45 minutes. Actual experiment based on the optimum conditions produced 91.79% yield of RSOFAME. The engine emission analysis revealed that carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission increased with increase in engine load. At a specific engine load, CO and HC emission decreased with increase in biodiesel fraction while NOx increased with increase of biodiesel fraction. The finding revealed a lack of learning devices by some students, internet connectivity issues, high data cost, need to upgrade the technological knowhow of education participants, limited classroom engagements due to large classes, and a lack of foundational social development facilities that can augment smooth transition into the post-pandemic predictable future of education. The study recommends that (1) disadvantaged background students lacking learning devices be assisted; (2) the University continue to strengthen blended learning; ICT upskilling for the students and staff; increase investment in ICT and maintain continuous training to improve staff’s technological skills; (3) reduce large class sizes; and (4) indulge in more collaboration towards solving the problems of resource constraints. The also recommends that the mental health of students be monitored frequently given the pressure of enduring hectic COVID-19-induced challenges relating to the abrupt switch to e-learning. The study anticipates setbacks regarding the use of ICT in teaching and learning going into the post-pandemic. It, therefore, recommends an upgrade of social development, especially in the area of ICT infrastructure and digitalisation in developing nations.","PeriodicalId":153802,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Review","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126489349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
