These devices operate on electricity that induces “electromagnetic pollution” in or near them. The effects of electromagnetic fields on living organisms are undeniable, but it is not yet clear how harmful they are to humans. In electric car, passengers sit very close to an electrical system that operates at considerable power and for a long period of time. This means that consumers are exposed to artificial magnetic fields. Electric car manufacturers are very familiar with these problems and offer various technological solutions in their design and production. The acquisition of instantaneous values for currents and voltages allows the proposed system to calculate several parameters that characterize the power quality (level components with the root mean square values of measured harmonics, average Fast Fourier Transform, THD factor, deforming residue, distortion factor, unbalanced voltages/currents and so on). All of these parameters can be monitored and recorded within a time frame set by the system user. Therefore an educational demonstrator with accompanying simulation software is discussed that can be used to teach the various modulation methods for controlling the power flow in the Dual Active Bridge. The numerical simulations are conducted in OpenModelica environment. The hybrid system is consisted of fuel cell, micro gas turbine and supercapacitor. There are realized with averaged models in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The supplying elements are connected to a DC bus for charging a different type of EV s. In this case as a load is use two EV s: BMW -i3 and Nissan Leaf. This system can operate autonomously in hard-to-reach places where there is no supplying from the distributed grid and other sources.
