This interaction is estimated using user profile data from online social networks: a data source that grows more and more popular in population geography studies. We build a qualitative indicator of social interaction using data on the number of interregional friendship links for «VKontakte» social network users that live in different municipalities and have an open social network profile. We show that the intensity of social interaction is higher on the average for municipalities that share a common border. Social interaction intensity data is then used to characterize the permeability of municipality borders. We choose the least permeable borders among all border segments of municipalities in Russian Federation: those with the smallest transborder interaction intensity values and describe the social barriers that are revealed this way. We describe various configurations of these barriers and suggest hypotheses for the reasons why such barriers appear or do not appear. The author’s method of assessing its change has been developed. The air directions are divided into 5 groups: with Moscow, St. Petersburg, with the airports of the most important resorts, interregional and intraregional. The development of the air transportation system in the Soviet and modern periods differs signifi both in groups and in terms of network-wide indicators – technological and economic. During the Soviet period, the polycentric structure became more complex than the modern monocentric one. In the modern conditions, the average distance of transportation continues to grow, which means that the territorial structure is stretching. In the structure of air transportation directions in the 2010sthere was an enlargement and concentration of passenger traffi which simplifi the view of the entire territorial structure of air transportation. Several transport directions begin to dominate in the structure of Moscow passenger airlines, in St. Petersburg air transportation, the share of Moscow is decreasing, in interregional transportation, the development of a hub air transportation system. There are more and more digital nomads who are people taking advantage of remote working to enable a lifestyle of constant traveling. The main centers of attraction for digital nomads are budget destinations with a comfortable climate. This paper represents\u0000\u0000the study of digital nomad hubs in Thailand: the cities of Bangkok and Chiang Mai and the resort islands of Phangan and Phuket. The methodology includes content analysis of digital nomads’ posts and spatial analysis of infrastructure for digital nomads, that allows to outline the areas of places where their daily practices take place. The cores of such areas are coworking spaces – their location and attractiveness for digital nomads depends on the urban area type. In resort centers, the location of coworking becomes a determining factor, which can be illustrated by the example of Phuket, where the expat district Rawai turns out to be attractive to digital nomads, whereas noisy tourist areas seem repulsive to them. In large cities such as Bangkok, the highest concentration of coworking spaces is observed in multifunctional urban centers such as Silom and Siam. It is revealed that the most popular logistics destinations are the north-western (Zelenograd, Radumlya), southern (Domodedovo, BelyeStolby) and eastern (Balashikha, Noginsk) with the largest cargo flows and free areas for construction, as well as the Central Ring Road (Bely Rast, Sever-4), due to an increase in the movement speed along which the time of cargo delivery is reduced. Less busy destinations are south-western (Vorsino) and north-eastern (Sofrino, Pushkino). In the western (Istra) and northern (Dmitrov) directions, new storage facilities ap- pear mainly between the MKAD and the Central Ring Road due to relatively low transit cargo flows in these directions and the predominance of water and forest lands in the land use structure. It is noted that the logistical influence of the Moscow agglomeration extends beyond the Moscow region in the south- western (Obninsk), north-eastern (Pereslavl-Zalessky) and western (Gagarin) directions. Investigated the aspirant states in India, presented a figure of their location on the territory, identified the principles on which they are based (ethnolinguistic, economic development of the territory, rationalization of management, cultural and historical) and two groups of principles are defined – «cultural and historical» and «economic and administrative». Shown that the movements for the creation of new states are contrary to the official ethnolinguistic principle. Presented the typology of the aspirant states which is composed according to a number of socio-economic, demographic and natural characteristics that affect the population quality life (population density, urban population, Human Development Index, Multidimensional Poverty Index, share of scheduled castes and tribes, unemployment, access to clean drinking water, forestry area, production of major crops, household electrification, road density, number of cities with a population more than 500,000) for each district in the aspirant state. According to a number of researchers, economic disparities between China’s regions started to decrease from about the mid-2000s. To clarify this picture the article uses indicator of contribution of the region’s GRP to the country’s total GRP. As a result of the research carried out by the author, it was found that in the PRC there really was a period when the economic gap between regions was narrowing down, but in general, changes in the relative contribution of regions to the country’s GRP are more complex than just a decrease or increase in economic disparities. Also, based on statistical data, the article draws conclusions about the relationship between the dynamics of the region’s contribution to the total GRP and the shares of the secondary and tertiary sectors in the region’s economy. It turned out that the increase in the economic level of the region in comparison with other regions is closely related to the share of the secondary sector in the GRP of this region: in most regions of China, the increase in the share of the secondary sector occurs in parallel with the growth of the contribution of the region’s GRP to the total GRP of the country. Numerous approaches to border studies can be divided into two large types - pragmatic and critical. The traditional pragmatic approach, based on an analysis of the functions of borders and using mainly historical-cartographic, functional, typological and statistical methods, has been significantly developed thanks to attention to non-state actors – local authorities, business, NGOs, etc., a much more extensive information base, strengthening understanding of the importance of cross- border cooperation and social practices related to the border. The critical approach is aimed at studying the cognitive-symbolic functions of borders associated with their perception, representation as sign systems, the politics of memory, discourses and narratives. Now, pragmatic and critical approaches are integrated, including in the model «practice – policy – perception». Largely influenced by the geopolitical shifts of recent years, seven key themes have emerged in the growing flow of border studies. They include the role of borders as a tool for controlling international migration and regulating other social processes, the widespread activation of the barrier function of borders, the redistribution of functions between them, etc. A possible direction for further development of border studies is the relationship and isomorphism of boundaries at different levels. Isomorphism means the similarity of functions of formal (state, administrative) boundaries at all levels, although manifested in different ways and in different proportions at each of them. The research based on authors-gathered database, composed of open data by Rosvodresursy, Rostechnadzor, EMEP modelled air depositions and concentrations, USGS EarthExplorer. Using cluster analysis, two different typologies of the ZATOs was made. With the help of this methodic, the specialization was described as the main determinant of the ZATO environmental situation. The other findings are: ZATOs make pressure on water resources and radiation level. From the territorial point of view, Krasnoyarsky krai, European North and Ural are the areas of high ecological stress ZATOs concentration and the best environmental situation is in Novouralsk. Its purpose is to summarize and analyze statistical information about the modern air transport system of this country from a geographical point of view. The role of this type of communication in the transport system of modern India is considered. The role of air transport in the transport system of modern India is considered. In 2001–2017 the volume of passenger air traffic in the country has grown 7.5 times. The volume of domestic passenger air traffic is almost 4 times higher than international. There are 3 main airlines with regular flights, 4 low-cost airlines, 7 regional and 14 charter companies. They have 769 civil aircrafts and 71 helicopters. Their fleet is dominated by medium-haul passenger aircraft of the A320 and B737 models, as well as regional ATR 72 and ATR 42 aircrafts. The leading airlines in terms of the share of passengers carried are IndiGo (43%), Spicejet (13%), Jet Airways (12%), Air India (11%). The share of cargo transported by aircraft within the country in 2007–2018 increased slowly (from 23% to 29%), but international cargo still dominated (71%). Since 2017, the Regional Air Connectivity (UDAN) program has been implemented, the main goal of which is to connect by air services regional cities that are poorly served or not yet connected to the national airline network. Voting in agglomerations largely determines the outcome of the presidential, or any other, elections. The electoral processes inside high-density territories are a derivative of settlement peculiarities, and socio-economic status, ethnic and racial composition of people at these areas. Researchers record the increase of polarization level in recent decades. This increase closely related to the population’s political preferences. Polarization can lead to the disunity of society, a reduction in socio-economic interactions and to local isolationism in the long term. This article analyzes the results of the US presidential election at the level of metropolitan areas in the period of 2000–2016 and shows the distribution of all 382 agglomerations depending on the voting results within their boundaries. It is also revealing the spatial patterns of locations of these agglomerations.
