To overcome the problems, an observer-based constrained model predictive control is presented for controlling the substrate feeding in bioreactor. First, the modified observer is used for obtaining full state information. Next, from the full state information, the controller is implemented using input output linearization method. The proposed controller (OCMPC) is compared with other controllers to show the effectiveness of the proposed controller. FTA is a system that is suitable for detecting and recovering software error based on pervasive computing environment as RCSM(Reconfigurable Context-Sensitive Middleware) by using software techniques. One of the methods to detect error for session's recovery inspects process database periodically. But this method has a weak point of inspecting all processes without regard to session. Therefore, we propose FTA. This method detects error by inspecting by hooking method. If an error is found, FTA informs GSM of the error. GSM informs Daemon or SA-SMA of the error. Daemon creates SA-SMA and so on. This paper presents a fast and robust recognition method of noisy code 39 barcode. The proposed method can be divided into two steps: search and decoding. In the first step, all asterisks in the image are found with evenly defined scan lines and then those with the same directions are matched together to get a valid barcode region. In the second step, a local denoise method is first applied to eliminate noise in the barcode region and then a middle band filter is used to decode the barcode. According to literal recordation, ancient images and ancient relic, we reconstructed characters, finery and architecture by 3D modeling technique. Motion was collected from actors by motion capture technique and arranged newly. At last, a virtual crowd was introduced into the 3D reconstruction of a complex heritage building to increase the realism of the reconstructed scene. A rule behavior system was created to represent a complex interactive scenario. The research shows that: a) COMGIS technique is an effective method to realize the coupling of the GIS module and hazard simulation module, b) The site earthquake influence field under the scenario earthquake can be simulated by utilizing the external commercial program-SHAKE91 c) ANN toolbox in Matlab is modularized to extend the virtual reality and simulation function of the earthquake-induced urban hazard, d) by GIS module, the simulated results can be perfectly matched with the spatial information. In this paper we introduce a novel stream-based (and out-of-core) point preprocessing algorithm which generating multi- resolution hierarchy based on bounding spheres by processing points in an orderly sequential way and sweeping double-plane along a spatial dimension. The major advantages of this novel concept are: (I) our algorithm can be used to in support of other stream operators, (2) generating a multi-resolution model representation, (3) low main-memory usage. A \"ring\" shape zone is constructed near isosurface. The bound threshold of the zone is determined by the half length of the cell diagonal. The cells inside the zone are processed, and the cells outside the zone are removed. The fast visualization algorithm is applied to the implicit surfaces represented by radial basis functions and multi-level partition of unity. By utilizing the mathematical properties of these implicit functions, the difficulty of calculating the shortest distance from one space point to the surface is solved. Consequently, a fast algorithm of extracting isosurface is implemented. In order to make the interface of the system more powerful and natural, hand gesture interaction need to be incorporated into the system's interface. This paper discusses the use of hand gestures for interaction with the virtual training environment. We employ static hand gestures which coupled with hand translations and rotations as the method of interacting with the virtual training environment. An 18-sensor data glove is chosen for monitoring the movements of the fingers and the wrist. The feed-forward neural network is developed for recognizing gestures for use in virtual training application of artillery self-propelled gun (SPG). We present our approach for the algorithm design and implementation, and the use of the gestures in our application. Then product gene's new concept and corresponding data structure based on function surface in growth design are put forward. Product gene can be defined as an integrated set of information specifying product's structures and functions and its mechanisms to 'grow' automatically. Furthermore, the work flow of product genetic Engineering and the expression method are proposed. Finally, an example of vise fixture based on product genetic engineering with the application of soft system is introduced. Our method starts from classification of input pixels of the input images into two categories, indicating the planar and non-planar surfaces respectively. For the planar surfaces, normal texture-mapping is applied. For the pixels corresponding to the nonplanar surfaces, we propose a method for obtaining some textured planes, called virtual planes, to represent the visual appearance of the nonplanar surfaces. A reconstructed virtual plane is a textured and partially transparent plane into which the input images are mapped using perspective projection. The RANSAC method is used to find the position of the textured planes, and optic flow measures are used to determine their textures. For other pixels corresponding to the non-planar surfaces with rich geometrical details, we use the point primitive to reconstruct the surface, where the redundant pixels are removed again through sampling rate comparison.
