According to the characteristics of system, a new intelligent control algorithm based on the fuzzy logic control and cerebellar model articulation control techniques-fuzzy cerebellar model articulation control (FCMAC) was presented and used to perform online control for the first time, novel weight-update laws were derived that guarantee the stability of closed-loop system, both information retrieval and learning rules were described by algebraic equations in matrix form. The results of experiment of closed-loop excited by three typical vibration signals showed that FCMAC control strategy can reduce the value of mean square root of vertical acceleration of semi-active suspension system to be lower 23%, 25% and 18% compared with the traditional control strategy such as PID.","PeriodicalId":133842,"journal":{"name":"16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence--Workshops (ICAT'06)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124959984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a low-cost multi- projector seamless tiled display system is constructed using commodity hardware and two-pass rendering technology for the marine simulator. The main technological problems of the display system are discussed, including geometry distortion adjustment and edge blending. Experimental results in marine simulator show that this framework is very cost- effective.","PeriodicalId":133842,"journal":{"name":"16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence--Workshops (ICAT'06)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117037856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Realistic animation and real-time simulation are two objectives pursued in computer graphics applications. Traditional animation technique can obtain virtual movement, but it has difficulty for realistic movement. Compared with the traditional animation technique, physically based animation can represent realistic movement better. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are used in our model, and the operator splitting method including semi-Lagrangian scheme and fast Fourier transform is employed to split the model into external force term, advection term, diffusion term and projection term. Every step is stable, so the whole process is also stable. Thus, the big time step can be taken to ensure real-time simulation. Compared with the traditional technique, this method can be taken for realistic animation and real-time simulation of tongue of fire in computer graphics applications. A simple visualization approach is also proposed based on density field for rendering tongue of fire animations in real time","PeriodicalId":133842,"journal":{"name":"16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence--Workshops (ICAT'06)","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134167073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel edutainment system is proposed by which a driver can have a clue to be aware of the relationship between the celestial sphere and himself. The attitude of the driver to the celestial sphere is always presented visually to him. The blockage by high rise buildings in cities or mountains in suburban are also superimposed. It will be the first mixed reality system used in our daily life. It serves as edutainment as well as art. Besides, it has another advantage to support two drivers in distant places know if they are sharing any common mew of celestial events when they talk by their cell phones in their vehicles in distant places.
