They are Uda-Yagi and AntArray programs. The improved algorithm proved it's capability in optimizing a microwave filter application with arbitrary frequency response. The optimization tool is especially tolerant to input parameter definitions and is efficiently capable of overcoming local optima. The algorithm was developed under the constraint of rapid convergence speed which was increased by more than one order of magnitude compared to the evolution-strategy-alone procedure. The developed optimization tool can be applied to a variety of technical problems, where the performance of a technical device has to meet given specifications, and where this performance is defined numerically by the parameters of the device to be optimized.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. Evaluation is processed on the basis of measured electrical parameters of the cavity with a sample inserted into centered glass tube. The approach is based on the consideration of forced oscillations boundary problem for the cavity coupled to a measuring microwave circuit. Numerical evaluation of characteristic equation for the natural mode is used. Ohmic losses in cavity walls are taken into account in the field model employed. There is no limitations in permittivity and loss tangent values of materials measured. Comparison of complex permittivity values given by the approach being presented with ones given by the simple perturbation approach conventionally adopted in resonant measurements is done.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. The object of our research is a broadband antenna of quasi-pyramidal horn type without side walls (T-horn). The given antenna may be used in the capacity of excitation source of a parabolic antenna or in the capacity of an antenna array element. The basic excited wave for such an antenna is TEM-wave. We examine two independent models of the antenna. The first is static, it is based on idea of TEM-horn as a part of infinite biconical line with current distribution and follows the travelling wave law. The second model is based on spectral presentation of electromagnetic field when solving integral equation for boundary problem.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. It is offered to use a modified discrete distributed amplifier (DDA) as a power source for the extended RF capacitively coupled low-temperature plasma generator. The load, which one is a plasma reactor, directly enters in a load line (LL) being by its a design part. Thus, the load is distributed lengthways of LL, instead of is massed on the end, as in the original DDA circuit. Last constrains us to revise processes flowing past in LL completely and look on efficiency of DDA in a new fashion.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications.
