{"title":"[Clinical value of cast post-core porcelain fused to metal crown in restorating residual root and crown of molars].","authors":"Liang-jian Chen, Fang-nong He, Jian-hua Huang","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the effect of cast post-core porcelain fused to metal crown on the restoration of residual root and crown of molars.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>One hundred and sixty-four residual roots and crowns of molars were treated with root canal therapy and restored by cast core porcelain fused to metal crown. The restoration effect was assessed at the 3rd, 6th, 12th and 24th month.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The strength of dental prosthesis retention, marginal fitness, and strength of crowns were satisfactory. {"title":"[Effect of tianlong xifeng granule on gan-yang-hua-feng zheng in cerebral arteriosclerosis].","authors":"Zhen-jia Yi, Wei-guo Xu, Sui-yu Hu","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the efficacy of Tianlong Xifeng granule (TXG) in the treatment of ceroarterosclerosis (CAS) with Gan-yang-hua-feng Zheng(GYHFZ).</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Patients with CAS were randomly divided into 2 groups: 122 patients in the treatment group were given TXG, while 60 patients in the control group were treated with Ginkgo Biloba capsule. Clinical symptom, blood lipid and transcranial doppler ultrasound were observed before and after the treatment.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The symptom, elasticity of the cerebral blood vessel, and the speed of blood flow were significantly improved in the treatment group, and the efficacy of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group. {"title":"[Expression of secreted alkaline phosphatase in hepatocytes controlled by HCV IRES].","authors":"Shui-ping Liu, De-ming Tan, Zhou-hua Hou","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To establish a cell model of secreted alkaline phosphatase (SEAP) controlled by HCV internal ribosome entry site (IRES).</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>The fragment of HCV 5' noncoding region (5' NCR) was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and was immediately cloned the upstream of the SEAP gene of pSEAP2-Control, an SEAP eukaryotic expression plasmid. With the liposome transfection technique, the resulting recombinant plasmid pdNCRSEAP was transfected into hepatocytes QSG7710, and the SEAP activity of cell culture media was monitored quantitatively by the chemiluminescent method. The regulatory effect of the HCV 5' NCR on the SEAP expression was measured by the treatment of transfected cells with antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ASODN) at 5 mumol and 10 mumol, respectively.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The light emission intensity of pdNCRSEAP expression was 76% that of pSEAP2-Control. The inhibition rates of pNCRSEAP luminescence intensity affected by ASODN of 5 mumol and 10 mumol were 29.2% and 44.6%, respectively, while ASODN had no significant effect on the pSEAP2-Control expression.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The SEAP expression of pdNCRSEAP is controlled by HCV 5'NCR. {"title":"[Effect of Citrus aurantium extract on L-type calcium currents in ventricular myocytes of single guinea pigs].","authors":"Fang Fang, Min Dong, Hong Zhu","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To determine the effect of citrus aurantium extract (CAE) on L-type calcium currents (ICa-L) in ventricular myocytes of guinea pigs.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Single myocytes were dissociated by enzymatic dissociation method. The whole-cell patch-clamp recording technique was used to record the change of calcium current after the administration of CAE.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>1. CAE 4 x 10(-3), 2 x 10(-2), 4 x 10(-2), and 1 x 10(-1) g/ml increased the ICa-L by 15.89%, 29.01%, 52.03% and 59.76% (P < 0.05), respectively. 2. CAE 2 x 10(-1) and 4 x 10(-1) g/ml decreased the ICa-L by 16.61% and 30.87% (P < 0.05), respectively. CAE changed the ICa-L significantly, but did not change the shape of I-V curves.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>CAE 4 x 10(-3)-1 x 10(-1) g/ml can increase the L-type calcium current in guinea pig ventricular myocytes significantly in a concentration-dependent manner, and promote the opening of calcium channel. {"title":"[ZEPHIR plate fixation in anterior surgery of the cervical spondylotic myelopathy].","authors":"Kang-hua Li, Zhang-yuan Lin, Guang-hua Lei","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To evaluate the clinical outcome of ZEPHIR plate in treating cervical spondylotic myelopathy(CSM).</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>We retrospectively analyzed 18 patients undergoing anterior decompression fusion and internal fixation with ZEPHIR plate. Follow-up period ranged from 3 to 12 months (an average of 9 months). The bone graft fusion rate, rehabilitation of neurological deficits, and the complications of the hardware were observed. We assessed the clinical effect with JOA score.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Rehabilitation of neurological deficits were observed in 16 patients, The JOA score after the operation significantly increased than before the operation. {"title":"[Influential factors to therapeutic efficacy of uterine artery embolization in the treatment of uterine fibroids].","authors":"Shun-ke Zhou, Shao-bo Li, Zi-shu Zhang","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of uterine artery embolization in the treatment of uterine fibroids and to analyse the influential factors to the therapeutic efficacy.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Thirty-two patients with symptomatic uterine myomas were treated by superselective catheterization and embolization of bilateral uterine arteries using PVA particles. Patients were followed for 6 months after uterine artery embolization. Baseline symptoms and the volume of the fibroids were used as parameters to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy. Influential factors to therapeutic efficacy were analyzed.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The clinical symptoms, especially heavy menstrual bleeding, were improved markedly. An average of 55.6% volume reduction of the fibroids was achieved during the 6 month follow-up. The submucosal and intramural location of the myomas reduced more in the volume compared with that of the subserosal location.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Selective uterine artery embolization is effective for uterine myoma.
