The combination of enzymes with antimicrobials increased the efficacy of the latter against biofilm-embedded bacteria. Moreover, Ficin treatment lead to smoother reepithelisation, and new tissue formation exhibiting collagen structure characteristics closely reminiscent of those observed in the native tissue. Thus, both soluble and immobilized Ficin and Papain appear beneficial for the treatment of biofilm-associated infections, speeding up wound healing and microbial decontamination.","PeriodicalId":13077,"journal":{"name":"http://eng.biomos.ru/conference/articles.htm","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83233118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
