Its goal is to analyse the author`s precept to unite artistic possibilities\u0000connected with various genre modifications of the novel: from Renaissance to postmodern traditions.\u0000Synthetic and polyphonic novel form, created by Karel Čapek in the process of artistic experiment, is\u0000based on using various discursive practices: folklore (animal tale), philosophical (Socratic dialogue,\u0000academic dispute, treatise, report), journalistic and popular science (newspaper and magazine\u0000article), colloquially-everyday (dialogues between the representatives of different cultural, social,\u0000gender, age groups) and others. All of them are united due to the parody-satirical re-creation within\u0000the borders of author’s intention, subordinate to the task to emphasize the deviation of the modern\u0000individual and mass consciousness from the humanistic norm. The modern study of literature now does not give the answer for a question, if it is possible to create a character of a man from the life by facilities of nonfiction narration, however, it is convincing and full-blooded in the reader’s perception as an artistic image. Stating the Subject of the Study: forming of character-image of writer V. Petrov-Domontovych in the circle of the Ukrainian emigrants of the post-war wave due to their remembrances, letters, and essays. Research methodology: through the comparative hermeneutic interpretation of texts, and also later fiction texts that formed the character-image of V. Petrov. Stating the Aim of the Study. Other mechanisms of reader reception work in nonfiction genres, then in fiction, id est it becomes possible another result – the character of real V. Petrov. Results of the Study and originality. The image of Victor Petrov, formed in the memory of representatives of Ukrainian literary emigration and recorded in their memoirs and correspondence, is no less ambivalent, than images of characters in the fictional works of Victor Domontovych. Expatriate contemporaries saw their colleague differently and remembered in different situations, however, it is significant that people, in many respects disagree with moral assessments, hostile to others (as Ihor Kachurovsky, who always biased towards Yuri Sherekh-Shevelov and even repeated stereotyped allegations against him after his death) they were largely controversial in the estimation of V. Petrov. On the one hand, V. Domontovych deserved respect as a talented prose writer; on the other hand, V. Petrov was a mystery as a person. His collaboration with the Soviet special services did not cause unequivocal condemnation, since the circumstances of his \"disappearance\" from Munich in 1949 remained unclear. Most of those people who spoke about this event immediately after it was treated to the disappeared man with compassion because they suspected the \"human beings\"-brothers (Yuriy Lavrinenko) from the Soviet side. Image of V. Petrov mostly appears \"split\", as well as images of characters in the novels of V. Domontovich. The practical significance. Актуальність теми демонструє обмежена кількість літературознавчих досліджень, які більшою мірою присвячені вивченню деяких типів наративів, зокрема і родинного. Це окремі жанрологічні статті, що визначають сімейний наратив передусім як формотворчу основу сімейного роману. На прикладі твору сучасної англійської письменниці Кейт Аткінсон «За лаштунками в музеї» аналізується структура родинного наративу. Зберігається традиція оповіді від першої особи («я»-нарація), що демонструє приклад розгорнутого функціонування гомодієгетичного типу наратора у тексті. Оповідачка родинної історії є і безпосередньою учасницею подій, і їх спостерігачкою, і фіксаторкою колективної пам’яті. Один із елементів наративної структури художнього простору К. Аткінсон — традиційна для родинного наративу циклічність: історія жінки / матері, яка зникає, оповідь про родинні канікули, подорож екзотичними країнами тощо. Визначено особливості втілення наративного металепсису (Ж. Женетт) як наративної гри з читачем, що є характерною ознакою родинного наративу. Проаналізовано наративний реверс, що демонструється у взаємопроникненні двох несумісних просторово-часових світів при наявній сюжетній логічності й завершеності оповіді. У наративному металепсисі роману «За лаштунками в музеї» переважають «жіночі наративні привілеї». Generaliuk","doi":"10.28925/2412-2475.2023.21.4","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.28925/2412-2475.2023.21.4","url":null,"abstract":"The article offers a new interpretation of a creative output of Maksymilian Voloshyn in 1917–1924 in the light of his reactions on the apocalyptic events of the early 20th century — revolutions, wars in Russia. His own understanding of the October Revolution and Bolshevik terror, Maksymilian Voloshyn as the poet, the artist, and the thinker with the European outlook, comprehensively expressed in the complete conceptual text — in poetry, publicism, letters and diary notes. The proposed article underlies the idea of cause-and-effect relationships in history, which provoked an attempt to logically justify the systematic destruction of the country’s citizens by the same citizens. Using thorough historical sources, Voloshyn pointed out the spontaneity and cyclic character of the Russian history, specified immorality of the governors, their despotic style of state management, identified the inhuman nature of state structures at all times. His merit lies in the fact that during the years of the Red Terror, he frankly spoke about massacre, artificially created famine, tortures and executions of hundreds thousand people in 1919–1923, documented crimes of the Soviet government and its representatives. Maksymilian Voloshyn depicted many disgusting types generated by Bolshevik system. He revealed simultaneously historical roots of Russian terrorism, and also presented options for its manifestation at the level of both the authorities and the lower strata of society. Through parallels with revolutionary events, the analysis of the historical past of Russia, visualization of personalities, the writer shows internal mechanisms, which define a role and a place of Russia in “the general tragedy of mankind”. The article describes the genre-creating elements that have become basis for systematization of the genre composition of horror literature. Special attention is paid to the typology of characters, the specifics of the arranging artistic time and space, as well as the features of the emotional impact on the reader as one of leading principles of genre classification of this type of fiction.\u0000\u0000After all, much of the text of the works of representatives of horror literature is devoted to the construction of artistic space and time, in order to introduce the recipient into a certain range of components of the emotional state during reading, to achieve the goal of horror literature. Namely, to scare the reader. Considerable attention is paid by the authors of this type of literature to the modeling of characters as a genre component. The article describes a set of standardized elements and attributes describing the appearance and character of the characters, which creates a \"horizon of expectations\" for the reader's perception.\u0000\u0000It also acts as an element of genre differentiation within the cluster of horror literature. The definition of genre varieties of this type of fiction reveals a clear conditionality of the specifics of the reception, the orientation of the author's intentions to create a certain psychological effect. Today, it is evident that the rethinking of human movement in the modern world has also provoked the need to change the perspective on the lines that separate states and nations. These politically constructed boundaries embody the territorialization of collectives, the allocation of a locus for specific groups, the narrowing of the world in certain parameters, the division of people into those who belong and those who are unwanted or Other, the consolidation of the image of inaccessibility for some countries and accessibility for others, and the desire of the richer to distance themselves from the poorer and the law-abiding from the lawbreakers. In literary texts that represent migration processes, the border and its crossing occupy an important place. Since refugees, illegal migrants, or temporary visa holders who try to enter wealthy countries at any cost are predominantly at the center of such works, the experience of crossing the dividing line is often degrading, and sometimes even life-threatening. The article provides an overview of contemporary approaches to understanding the border in the humanities. Researchers emphasize the discriminatory nature, regressive mechanisms, and constructivist way of thinking about dividing lines. The analysis of D. Nayeri’s ‘Refuge’, C. N. Adichie’s ‘Americanah’, I. Zoboi’s ‘American Street’, and A. L. Urrea’s ‘The Devil’s Highway’ leads to the conclusion that in migratory novels, the border functions as a state practice of demeaning those who cross it. In addition, visas intensify constructed perceptions of inaccessibility and, accordingly, high living standards and freedom in the Western world. The humiliations that migrants experience to reach their dreamland traumatize their personality and intensify their feelings of inferiority. We are very important in the development of folklore warehouse, some of the folklore itself has become an unacceptable dzherel for the establishment of the actualization of artistic themes and images that were given to the dobies. Folklorе images were found in the folk culture and integrated in the creative palette of Ukrainian writing. After the hour of writing robots, a hermeneutic, descriptive, systemic and systematic method of reading has been obtained.\u0000\u0000This аrticle is devoted to the problem of creative interpretation of the folk phytonym \"perekotypole\" on the basis of works of Ukrainian literature of the XIX century, in particular the article considers the ballad \"Pokotypole\" by A. Metlinsky, the Russian-language story nun \"and the poem\" We are so similar in autumn \"by T. Shevchenko, L. Glibov's fable\" Perekotypole \". Allusions to European romantic literature have also been identified in the study of the creative interpretation of the folklore image of the perekotypol.\u0000\u0000In the cоurse of research it is proved that the folk tale about perekotypole is consonant with F. Schiller's ballad \"Ivik's cranes\". Both works show that both the steppe plant and the cranes in the sky can be silent witnesses to the ruthless violent death of a person, and in the end they help solve the murder and help punish the thief. Among all the works analyzed in the article, it is worth noting the Russian-language story \"Perekatypole\" by G. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko, which at one time was not republished at all and was removed from the list of the author's academic publication.\u0000\u0000Thе study highlights the levels of transformation of the folk image of the perekotypol in various literary genres of Ukrainian literature of the XIX century: direct, secondary, indirect. The emotional and semantic load of the folk phytonym \"perekotypole\" in the artistic texts of the mentioned period is also determined. This image in the structure of the lіterary text serves as a silent witness to the murder (folk tales about Perekotypole, the bаllad \"Pokotypole\" by A. Metlinsky, \"Perekotypole\" by G. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko), symbolizes the state of loneliness, orphan destiny (poetry of T. Shevchenko), еmbodies the image of barrenness and alienation (L. Astrakhan","doi":"10.28925/2412-2475.2021.17.1","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.28925/2412-2475.2021.17.1","url":null,"abstract":"The article deals with the phenomenon of meta-literature as a manifestation of self-reflection inherent in creative writing and artistic creation. The articles makes an attempt to characterize the phenomenon of meta-literature, which reflects the basic laws of literary development in the twentieth century, gaining special significance in the context of the transition from modernism to postmodernism. It is noted that the problem of art and reality relations is re-thought in connection with the formation and development of modernist literature, all the most significant works of which in one way or another are involved in updating the vectors of artistic solution to this problem. The aesthetic, ideological and poetic features of modernist literature are analyzed, the shift that the content sphere of modernist works undergoes in connection with the interpretation of the problem of art and reality relations is demonstrated, and their poetic basis is determined. It is emphasized that by exploring the phenomenon of literature artistically, meta-literature, in its various manifestations, opens the prospects for a new vision of reality, allows to expand and deepen its understanding. By arguing the need for experiencing literature within the framework of existential experience and thus removing the boundary between artistic and real dimensions of existence (\"real life is literature\", according to M. Proust), modernists approached the views of philosophical hermeneutics. Remythologization, which characterizes the modernist literary and artistic discourse, can also be understood in connection with the need to correlate artistic meanings with existential ones, to find new ways of identifying and legitimizing them in the situation of religious consciousness crisis. A new configuration of the combination of ancient and biblical-Christian meta-images in the process of remythologization determines the construction of a new world view and concept of man, ensures the achievement of a multifaceted vision of reality. Gorbolis","doi":"10.28925/2412-2475.2019.1317","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.28925/2412-2475.2019.1317","url":null,"abstract":"The article, based on the play «At the Beginning and At the End of Times» by the contemporary\u0000Ukrainian playwright Pavlo Arie and the performance of Lviv Lesia Ukrainka Academic Drama Theatку,\u0000directed by Oleksiy Kravchuk, ascertains the expedience to use an intermedial approach to find out\u0000the features of architectonics, genre originality, the role of the title, dedication, remarks, chronotope\u0000in the literary and stage modelling of the heroes, reflection of the general concept of works, visualization\u0000of the ideological and thematic direction. It studied the significance of remarks, details, scenery, music\u0000and video for disclosing the conflict of work, reflecting the character and the mental state of heroes.\u0000Vertical-horizontal coordinates of the material and spiritual life of the characters are described and\u0000analysed. The semantic content of the work, the author’s and director’s accents are oriented not\u0000only to the person, but also to the culture that is perished. The play heroes are in difficult situations\u0000of choice, searching for themselves, rethinking values. Working on the images and problems, P. Arie,\u0000O. Kravchuk skilfully conveyed the volatility of mood, a complex body of hero experiences, appealing\u0000to the audience’s feelings. The analysis of the body in the artistic text is based on its semantic and structural influence,\u0000which makes it possible to consider its text-creating function as an important factor in the formation\u0000of a modern novel. Body and corporeality are the factors which create a figurative and narrative\u0000component of text, and through them completely new artistic category is synthesized. Considering\u0000the body as a factor in creating a text is possible with an anthropological, cultural and literary\u0000model, through the prism of physical-mimetic analysis, gender studies and moduses of perception.\u0000Body is a method of interpretation of the surrounding world, this is a reason why it is studied\u0000by literary scholars in corporeality, sexuality, gender aspects, and traumatic experience (war, torture,\u0000injure). It is necessary to distinguish the categories of «body», «corporeality» to maintain the clarity\u0000of interpretation, thus retaining the duality between the biological and spiritual beings. The analysis\u0000demonstrates theoretical features of these categories on the researches of Ukrainian and foreign\u0000literary critics. The transformation of the image of corporeality in modern Ukrainian literature is\u0000demonstrated on the novels written by L. Dashvar, M. Matias, Yu. Wynnychuk and V. Lys.
