Evaluation of the effectiveness by applying LLLT in combination with various chemotherapeutic agents (vincristin, 5-Fu, ciclophosphan). Research of LLLR effect on different types of tumors show that this treatment can be used for tumors-statistic effect and for increasing life-span in animals. Applying LLLR in combination with chemotherapeutic agents causes tumors-static action. The most effective combination was LLLT + vincristin which caused the inhibition of tumor growth in Walker's carcinosarcoma-by 92,87%, in RMK-1 - by 90,29% in comparing to controls. The combination of LLLT with HpD showed - the effect of laser therapy takes place in 30 min before the irradiation and is accompanied by a sharp reduction of the preparation's accumulation in the tumor cells.","PeriodicalId":92766,"journal":{"name":"Clinics of oncology","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75915603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the correlation between ion concentration change and patients prognosis have not been studied thoroughly. Our research will fill the gap, especially for high ion concentration. Methods: We retrospectively studied inpatients diagnosed with primary NSCLC and treated between May 2015 and July 2017. The basic clinical information and blood test data before and after treatment were collected. According to the clinical reference range of normal ion concentration, the patients were divided into three groups: low, normal and high level. Kaplan-Meier curve was used to analyze the difference of overall survival (OS) prognosis among each group. The correlation between ion concentration and other clinical parameters was further analyzed. Finally, a prognostic nomogram model was established by LASSO-COX method. Results: In the 1237 patients cohort, the median follow-up period was 861 days (range 3-2128 days). Firstly, 6 serum ions were included in the study, and only sodium (Na) and chloride (cl) ions were significantly associated with OS. Low level patients were found nearly just in III-IV stage patients, in contrast, high level patients distribute evenly in all stages. Then, correlation analysis showed that increased Na and cl concentrations were associated with decreased neutrophil number and elevated lymphocyte proportion. Finally, prognostic model analysis showed that cl is a crucial parameter. Conclusion: Serum Na and cl ion concentrations are closely related to the OS of lung cancer patients, and should be considered as clinical prognostic factors.","PeriodicalId":92766,"journal":{"name":"Clinics of oncology","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81762685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has induced discussions about the ‘right’ medical terminology. The impact of choosing a specific disease-label on well-being can be high. Objective: To examine the impact of disease labels on disease experience in patients living longer with incurable cancer. Design: Qualitative study based on short conversations in the outpatient clinic in a Dutch comprehensive cancer hospital (2015-2018) supplemented with in-depth interviews from hospitals (2021). Setting: Hospital and home setting (via Zoom) Participants: We included 29 short conversations and 4 indepth interviews with patients with incurable breast and lung cancer, all in stable (but incurable) condition. Main outcome measures: We specifically focused on disease labelling and patient’s mood (positive/negative mindset) during the disease course. Results: A substantial group of patients (n=21) used (or explicitly not used) disease-labels in their short conversations about their disease. They varied in their preference regarding disease-labels (e.g. ‘chronic’, ‘palliative’, ‘human’ etc.). Patients with a more positive stance seemed more comfortable with the label ‘chronic’, whereas patients with a less positive stance seemed to perceive disease-labels such as ‘chronic’ as a lifelong burden. Some patients preferred not to label their disease at all. Healthcare professionals’ use of disease-labels could sometimes distress patients, especially when patients heard different disease-labels from different healthcare professionals. Patients not using any disease-label in their communication (n=12), seemed to be less engaged with their disease. Conclusions: Patients labeling their disease is part of their coping strategy. More research is warranted to explore which disease-labels suit different patients confronted with incurable cancer, best.","PeriodicalId":92766,"journal":{"name":"Clinics of oncology","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80402588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This meta-analysis is investigation whether the serum TK1 concentration(STK1p)based on hTK1-IgY-polyclonal-antibody can provide a benefit for risk assessment from gastric neoplasm progression to gastric carcinoma (GC) as well as for evaluation of treatment effect in GC. 1.2. Methods: Relevant studies were identified from the following electronic databases: PubMed, Embase, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, the Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database from May 1, 2008, until November 30, 2021. Study quality was evaluated by the modified Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Pooled estimates of weighted mean difference (MD), sensitivity analyses and publication bias were evaluated using Review manager and STATA software. RESULTS: Twenty-seven studies included to 1,909 GCs and 1,229 neoplasms (superficial gastritis, chronic gastritis, atrophic and gastric ulcers) and 2,260 tumor-frees. The results showed that STK1p levels increased significantly in the following manner (P<.0.006): tumor-free < superficial gastritis < chronic gastritis < atrophic gastritis < gastric ulcer < GC. The STK1p value of the GCs one-month-post-surgery decline significantly by 66% compared to pre-surgery. 1.3. Conclusion: STK1p value has the potential to be an early risk warning indicator for early gastric neoplasms progression to GCs and to be a helpful index for monitoring the response to surgery. 1.4. Core Tip: In spite of improvements in diagnosis and treatment the long-term survival rate for a large number of GCs is still dismal. Hence, it is important to explore serum biomarkers for early prediction of risk gastric neoplasms into GCs. In this meta-analysis, the STK1p as a prognostic biomarker was investigated showed significantly higher in GCs compere to different neoplasm and tumor-free people and was significantly reduced one-month post-surgery. It demonstrates that STK1p as tumor proliferating serum-biomarker, can be not only used for early risk gastric neoplasm progression and evaluation of treatment effect in GC patients, but also for a variety of other tumor types in clinical setting.","PeriodicalId":92766,"journal":{"name":"Clinics of oncology","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79245037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Being socially isolated or precisely the opposite, e.g., living tightly together can become difficult during extreme situations. This paper focuses on the quality of relationships during the COVID pandemic and beyond; differences between the Spanish and Dutch population are compared. Methods: With short, on-line questionnaires focusing on present as well as past COVID-experiences among the Dutch (n=70) and Spanish (n=98) general public, we tried to get a grip on the emotional impact of a serious crisis, such as the COVID pandemic. Results: Our Spanish sample almost all reported that well-being changed during the pandemic (95%). Only a few (9%) of our Spanish respondents reported to experience problems of loneliness during the COVID-pandemic; this percentage was much higher among the Dutch sample (39% of all respondents). Emotional support was generally reported as rather high among Spanish respondents ranging from 95% or higher to the importance they attached of having a special person being around as well as family support. The added value Dutch respondents attached towards family support was a little lower (70% and 65% respectively). The frequency of respondents not being anxious was higher among the Dutch sample (43% versus 15% in the Spanish sample). Spanish respondents however at the same time experienced (despite their reported anxiety) a more meaningful life (87% of people in the spanish versus 13% of people in the Dutch sample). Discussion: Although high frequencies of emotional support were reported among Dutch and Spanish respondents, relationships in itself either seemed to have become more difficult or stronger. It further seemed that respondents’ mood did not have a tremendous impact on the perceived quality of their relationships. Regardless in how difficult a situation can be, your own mindset as well as cultural differences to a great extent seems to determine perceived well-being.","PeriodicalId":92766,"journal":{"name":"Clinics of oncology","volume":"72 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73887106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abstract 1.1. Objective: The autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT Aut) is a therapeutic medical treatment for various neoplastic hematologic, congenital, genetic or acquired disorders. In this procedure which combines high-dose chemotherapy and/ or radiotherapy and has a high degree of cytotoxicity, the patient experiences solitary confinement, which causes psychological distress, anxiety, mood, fatigue, nauseas, pain and can lead him/ her to depression. Music therapy was applied with the purpose of decreasing this social confinement, measuring the variables nausea and pain, and verifying whether this intervention can decrease these symptoms. This is a randomized clinical trial. 1.2. Method: n = 45 patients were selected randomly. n = 24 were selected for the Experimental Music Therapy Group (EMG) and n = 21 for the Control Group (CG) which received the standard treatment. Interventions of live music were applied using music therapy methods and techniques, by a qualified music therapist. Assessment and quantification made using visual analog scale (VAS). 1.3. Results: The student t test and covariance analysis applied, (p < 0.05) were considered statistically significant when comparing the groups, reducing nauseas and pain significantly Conclusion: Music therapy reduced nausea and pain of the patients undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cells transplantation, providing bio-psychosocial welfare. 2. Introduction The motivation to carry out this investigation took place through music therapy sessions applied in a previous study during the trajectory in the master's degree, developed at the bone marrow transplant service of the clinical hospital complex of the Federal University of Paraná, located in the city of Curitiba, capital of Paraná, Brazil. Variables that were not, investigated but that provoked reflections, due to the patients' reports.
