On the contrary, we hypothesize that these four dimensions are negatively associated with the quantity of entrepreneurship. These hypotheses are empirically examined on a sample of 86 countries obtained from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) and 1,858,444 participants in a 10-year period, from 2007 to 2016. We utilize the Generalized Estimating Equations (GEEs) for the main hypothesis testing and the Random Effects Model for robustness analysis. The findings support most of the hypotheses. We then discuss theoretical implications drawn from the study and provide suggestions for policy makers. Our paper emphasizes that the investment in human capital may not simultaneously result in both high entrepreneurship quality and high entrepreneurship quantity at the aggregate level.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83974734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For example, an entrepreneur initially has a business idea for a new product or service that begins in mind. However, the idea needs to be successfully and strategically executed to become a sustainable reality. This research provides a variety of examples concerning conceptualizations of creativity that entrepreneurs can tap into further to enhance their creative abilities for business ideation generation. Further highlights include the psychological impediments entrepreneurs must be aware of and avoid that can stall the entrepreneurial process and the business from successfully launching and sustaining life long-term. Lastly, the authors demonstrate the similarities between the McKinsey 7s framework (Peters & Waterman, 2004) and the servant leadership style (Greenleaf, 1977), revealing how adopting a more formidable entrepreneurial approach involves “putting the people first” rather than solely focusing on strategy and complex numbers.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87814401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The United States spends more money per capita on healthcare than any other country. Still, the United States healthcare did not make the top twenty. Another study published in 2021 ranked the US last in access to healthcare, equity, and outcomes among the 11 high income countries, despite spending a far greater share of its GDP on healthcare (Luhby, 2021). The World Health Organization’s ranking of the world’s health systems put France at #1and the United States at #37 (World Health Organization, 2019). This paper examines a broad IT related healthcare literature and seven key IT tools and technologies that should be integrated into a comprehensive U.S. healthcare system. Properly integrating these IT tools and technologies should narrow the gap and improve the five critical success factors: Quality, Access, Efficiency, Equity, and Healthy lives.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90086103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on our developed analytical model, we provide seven scenarios of the market-entry timing effect on a firm’s entry speed and cost. We test hypotheses in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. We use Wooldridge’s three-step instrumental variable (IV) approach to account for endogeneity bias. We find that a late entrant has (1) a shorter time-to-build and (2) a higher cost-to-build relative to an early entrant. Further, (3) the late entrant positively moderates the negative relationship of time-to-build and cost-to-build (i.e., the negative relationship of time-to build and cost-to-build becomes less negative for the late entrant). These empirical results are consistent with the prediction of when both revenue effect (i.e., revenue curve shift) and cost effect (i.e., cost curve leftward shift) exist.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83381115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article improves understanding of the success of innovation projects in Chad through project management practices (PMP) and benefits management practices (BMP). To achieve this, the literature has made it possible to propose a model for representing success. The mixed methodology was used. It was applied to the Grand Ecosystem Lacustres Tchadiens (GELT) project. The results show that PMPs are more effective in achieving innovation management success (β = 0.38) but also investment success (β = 0.21). On the other hand, BMPs are better predictors (β = 0.39) of investment success. However, PMPs and BMPs, when combined, are the preferred lever to generate (Δr2= 92%) the success of innovation projects.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74827150","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examined how an ASC impacts business-to business (B2B) sales performance within a moderated mediation model. The data were collected through LinkedIn and audience panel services MTurk and Centiment. The results showed that the moderated mediation model explained 40% of the variance in outcome sales performance, with leader-members interdependence (LMI) as the moderator and psychological safety (PS) as the mediator. Furthermore, ASC had a significant negative effect on PS, while leader-members interdependence buffered the effect of ASC on PS. The findings from this study may help companies appreciate the broader impact an abusive supervision climate has on their sales organization. Organizations may prioritize interventions and implement policies to reduce the frequency of ASC within their B2B sales organizations, thereby fostering higher psychological safety and building high-performing sales teams.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91061893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many states have moved to legalize sports betting both in-person and on-line. In this paper we evaluate the sports betting market and assess its efficiency in the financial sense. Using a large dataset of betting odds and outcomes across a wide range of sports over an extended period, we evaluate the weak-form efficiency of the sports betting market. While we find some minor technical inefficiencies, overall, the markets are generally efficient, and no odds-based betting strategy will yield statistically significant long-term profits. But some bets are better than others. Slight underdog bets in professional and collegiate football and the UFC have had positive returns over an extended time frame, though they do not clear a statistical significance test. On the other hand, we find some bets clearly under perform. Longshot bets in college basketball are among the worst bets and longshot biases can be shown to exist in collegiate football and basketball as well as baseball.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84402446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implementation of strategies differs vastly from the theories and the lack of continuous improvement steps within the organization has affected the organization to successfully evaluate the strategies and to exploit the strategic advantages that the FLC has. Our goal was to understand how potential entrepreneurs might form an entrepreneurially-positive mindset and whether the relationships driving that mindset might differ between married women and married men. Using structural equation modeling, we tested our model on a sample of 288 married and employed individuals in Nigeria. We find strong evidence of a positive relationship between an individual’s sense of subjective well-being and entrepreneurial self-efficacy – a relationship that in turn positively impacts the likelihood of entrepreneurial intentions. Spousal support – our presumed catalyst of this three-factor relationship – also plays a significant role, but only for women. The results of our study validate three key relationships that catalyze entrepreneurial action and explore the relationship spousal support and gender may play in their interaction. We highlight the importance of well-being in predicting entrepreneurial behavior and conclude with suggestions for further research.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76581235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
