Based on interviews with 34 female entrepreneurs from five regions of Bangladesh, this study sought to identify significant categories of start-up companies related to the development of entrepreneurship among rural women borrowers through microfinancing. Specifically, this study examined obstacles faced by females of Bangladesh and explored how they overcame those barriers and became successful entrepreneurs. A grounded theory approach was used to categorize critical obstructions and facilitating factors, and role congruity theory helped inform the nature of the emerging categories. Nine compelling themes emerged from the analysis, identifying vital factors influencing the nature and outcome of the small business ventures. From a role congruity theory perspective, the nine themes converge to suggests that microfinancing allows women to operate their businesses in a manner that enables them to maintain high congruity or fit with their family roles and other lifestyle requirements, contributing to successful business operations.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86890921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Miller","doi":"10.33423/ajm.v23i2.6054","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33423/ajm.v23i2.6054","url":null,"abstract":"This study focuses on measuring the relationship between organizational learning culture (OLC) and turnover intentions of telecommuting call center agents. Although many studies involve the call center industry from different perspectives, the literature is scant in studies that have assessed the relationship between OLC and turnover intent in telecommuting call center agents. Call centers exist in almost every organization worldwide. Organizations have centralized their customer service process through computerbased technologies allowing call center agents to work from home. In addition, in the post-COVID-19 era, telecommuting has become a permanent option for many call center employees. Indeed, in the call center industry, telecommuting has become an essential part of the business strategy that seeks to attract new and maintain current employees. In the call center industry, learning is a factor that influences job satisfaction and turnover intentions. Specifically, OLC increases job satisfaction and performance in telecommuting call center agents, influencing employees' turnover intentions. The study 's findings indicate that OLC is a needed factor that helps lower turnover intentions of telecommuting call center agents in the United States.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79220877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trend of increasing GDP has continued in recent years. The tourism sector significantly contributes to this development. To give a more detailed insight into this, the authors spoke to tourism industry officials to obtain their assessment and experiences via expert interviews. The methodological approach chosen from qualitative social research aims to identify future challenges, strengths and weaknesses for the Croatian tourism sector and to make recommendations. Preliminary results seem to suggest that, despite the increased tourist numbers, there is doubt as to whether Croatia ́s tourism industry will be able to stay competitive with other countries in the future. Clear strategic planning is one of the weaknesses of economic indicators, such as a lack of qualified personnel or tax policy imbalances. The work aims to provide a contribution to the empirical research of Croatian tourism and to advance findings in the geospatial field of future challenges. Sustainability aspects also play an important role in making the country fit for the future.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87053374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper reports on the implementation of a “resident questionnaire on disaster prevention consciousness” among residents around Tama University, based on the Resilience Assessment Grid (RAG) concept used in Resilience Engineering. The RAG defines the four capabilities of a resilient organization as “Resilient Local residents = Anticipating + Watch over (Monitoring) + Preparation (Responding) + Learning.” We quantified the resilience potential of the community and found that Preparation (Responding) scored lower than the other items. Our findings can inform the design and management of a disaster-resistant community that is better prepared to anticipate, monitor, respond to, and learn from disasters.","PeriodicalId":91998,"journal":{"name":"American journal of information management","volume":"210 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78161914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
