Current hardware is not suitable for usage with prescription correction glasses despite the prevalence of refractive eye problems, and algorithmic solutions are not optimal. We tackle this issue by proposing a differentiable visual perception model that derives key insights from the human visual system, the target display, and the target user's eye refractive errors. Using our algorithmic approach, we optimize the rendered images using stochastic gradient‐descent solvers to provide contrast enhanced images at interactive rates for a visually impaired user.","PeriodicalId":91069,"journal":{"name":"Digest of technical papers. One such challenge is the conflict for human vision between accommodation and vergence when viewing virtual images. At worst this leads to an uncomfortable viewing experience and at best it limits the stereoscopic range. The transition from fixed focal length optics to systems that can be tuned to match the virtual content promises to change to this paradigm. In this paper we describe a tunable liquid crystal lens based on Fresnel optics that allows variable focus of the virtual image. Crucially this is the first time this type of lens has been made with ultra‐thin, light bioplastic films instead of glass, uniquely enabling attractive product form factors.","PeriodicalId":91069,"journal":{"name":"Digest of technical papers. The diode exhibits the low off current density of ~ 2.5×10 ‐5 A/cm 2 in dark and a diode factor of 1.47. Under near‐infrared (850 nm) illumination with a power density of 20 mW/cm 2, the photocurrent increases by 1.5×10 3 times at ‐1 V. In addition, we demonstrate that the generated photocurrent can be effectively amplified by a LTPS oxide (LTPO) operational amplifier, yielding the output signal of 17.60 V. Our results suggest that the proposed LTPS‐based photodiode has a great potential for applications in highly sensitive optoelectronic devices.","PeriodicalId":91069,"journal":{"name":"Digest of technical papers.
