Cultural heritage must be introduced to students from a very early age. Kindergartens and elementary schools are responsible for acquainting students with cultural heritage and teaching them to appreciate the heritage of our ancestors through various didactic approaches. The primary objective of the research presented in this study was to investigate how the local environment is integrated into the teaching of cultural heritage and determine the opinion of the elderly about the teaching and learning of cultural heritage content in primary schools and the level of their involvement in passing it on to younger generations. The study involved 130 participants from the older generation, with an average age of 73 years, ranging from the youngest participant at 62 to the oldest at 96. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The findings reveal that most older generation participants believe that teaching cultural heritage content to students and integrating this content into the teaching at elementary schools in Slovenia is insufficient. Members of the older generation believe that elementary school students enjoy learning about cultural heritage and that promoting children’s awareness of cultural heritage is essential. The results also show that most older people in local communities do not cooperate with schools and kindergartens. However, those who do participate do so through workshops and various presentations.","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135211597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to quantitatively analyze the action measures taken by the governments of 28 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) in China to reformulate the central double-minus policy. The study used the content analysis method and NVivo12 qualitative analysis software to analyze the 28 double-reduced policy texts in three dimensions, policy tools, policy subjects, and areas of student burden reduction. The study found that in terms of policy tools, supply-type policy tools are used more reasonably but are generally insufficient, environment-type policy tools are dominant but internally polarised, and the overall input of demand-type policy tools is low. In the dimension of policy subjects, the coordinated participation of multiple subjects has initially taken shape, but the participation of families, communities, and the media needs to be improved. In the area of student burden reduction, a synergy has been formed between in-school and out-of-school simultaneous burden reduction. Therefore, in the future, it is important to further link up multiple policy bodies, increase the input of policy tools and collaborate to promote both in-school and out-of-school load reduction to promote the implementation of the double-reducing policy.","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135504631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Educators and psycho-social professionals need to become culturally competent to be able to work with people from different cultural backgrounds including race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, etc. To be able to do so, it is important to cultivate cultural competence among these workers, the perquisites to which are the awareness and acceptance of differences between people as well as reflection upon their own attitudes and feelings. To create a profound and long-lasting effect of the training, creative and experiential teaching methods are often applied. This paper describes the use of children’s books in academic training for cultural and context awareness and presents two training modules. The application of this methodology is demonstrated with university students in social work and with students in an Arabic-speaking teachers’ college in Israel.","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"152 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136257311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thinking evaluation will become increasingly important in programming education in Japan. However, it is impossible for instructors to single-handedly evaluate their students’ thinking at the same time. It is necessary to provide a quantitative evaluation method that can be applied to a variety of educational situations in order to help instructors. We define coding vectors based on students’ source code that will serve as an indicator of evaluation. Moreover, we judge students’ prospects through a 3-step analysis with their coding vectors. We analyzed coding vectors for 22 participants obtained through a task experiment. We evaluated students’ thinking from three perspectives: visualization, distance, and direction. As a result, all three ways had the ability to grasp students’ thinking content. Coding vectors allow us to comprehensively judge students’ coding steps and their prospects. In this paper, we discuss the expressive power of coding vectors for coding content, and task settings appropriate for them.","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136367621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
