In light of this, we examined the predictive roles of neglectful parenting and personality traits on malevolent creativity. The cross-sectional design was used to survey 623 participants. Data for the study were collected with adapted neglectful parenting, personality traits, and malevolent creativity scales. The data were analysed inferentially with CB-SEM. The study revealed positive predictions of physical and emotional neglect on hurting people, lying, and playing tricks as aspects of malevolent creativity. Furthermore, conscientious personality trait predicted higher on hurting people, lying, and playing tricks as aspects of malevolent creativity. We concluded that neglectful parenting and improper parenting can bring about unacceptable behaviours among people as many of the victims might become a social canker. Therefore, families and significant others in communities should be taken through strategies in preventing irregular parenting and moderated personality dispositions before they develop into unacceptable behaviours that might ruin the gains of society.","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70425298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this case study, we use Participatory Action Research methodology to address Mathematics Anxiety in a public high school in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). An intervention was performed using tools such as the Growth Zone Model and the hand model of the brain in order to address anxiety and build Mathematical Resilience. The levels of Mathematics Anxiety were measured before and after the intervention using the revised MAS scale (MAS-R), and narrative records were made. The data indicate positive evidence in performing this kind of intervention, adding to the literature on building Mathematical Resilience and leading us to continue developing our practice as anxiety-informed teachers, and to recommend future interventions with bigger and more diversified samples.","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70426284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is now run by the University of Houston using local resources. This student-led project, based on the 5E instructional model, is executed by the students from initial ideation of research objectives to the design, testing, and deployment of scientific payloads. The 5E Instructional model places the student at the center of knowledge building, while instructors facilitate interaction with content and guide the inquiry process. Since 2013, this project has been not only an effective vehicle for delivering STEM education but is also effective in increasing classroom engagement and interest in space. Space research is inherently interdisciplinary and crosscuts Geoscience, Engineering, and Technology. The project is designed to integrate engineering, technology, physics, material science, and earth and atmospheric sciences as an important opportunity for the students to gain access to cross-disciplinary experiential research. In addition to classroom engagement, the students build their own payloads and ground instruments. This project increases students’ command of essential skills such as teamwork, collaboration, problem solving, technology, communication, innovation, and leadership. For the faculty, the project was an extended exercise in professional development, learning how to implement project level inquiry-based education on this scale. For the students, this formative experience continues to encourage the development of a much broader range of technical skills than is typically offered within an undergraduate degree. Furthermore, the extensive time and energy that students commit to this project promotes a strong sense of personal and professional responsibility and emphasizes the necessity of coherent teamwork. Not only do students make valuable connections with each other during this process, but also to the broader space science community. They often work with professionals from outside of the USIP structure, and regularly attend and present at conferences and student competitions throughout the project. This paper will present a web-based scaffolding used to simulate the traditional face to face 5E experience during COVID. Student projects have included subjects ranging from atmospheric trace gas chemistry, LiDAR study of snow and sand avalanche dynamics, auroral electron precipitation, gravity wave modulation of the hydroxyl layer, search for stratospheric microplastics, and monitoring auroral radio emissions, among others. Using the quantitative research approach, a structured survey questionnaire was used to collect data on wide issues related to learners’ self-study habits as observed from the re-searchers’ experiences in dealing with diverse learners and literature. A total of 750 Grade 12 learners (consisting of 420 males and 330 females) selected using the simple random sampling technique participated in the study. The results of the study revealed that the majority of the participants (48% male and female 46%) always set target for themselves on the marks and grades they wanted to score in their tasks. Setting an effective goal prompts higher commitment to study among learners and leads to higher academic achievements. In addition, most learners (33% male and 29% female) indicated that they study everyday following their personal reading timetables, and always consult their teachers for assistance when they did not understand any concepts. However, it is worrisome that majority of the participants preferred to do their personal studies in empty classrooms instead of the library, which is traditionally designed and equipped to facilitate effective private study. The majority of the participants also indicated that they were unable to find time to study after school and did not engage in peer study group. Thus, it is important to sensitize the learners on the importance of using library for private studies, setting dedicated study time, and engaging in peer study groups as such groups have elements of built-in tutoring sessions","PeriodicalId":90814,"journal":{"name":"Creative education","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70429916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
