Unfortunately, whilst these foods contain lots of calories, they often have far lower levels of fiber, water and minerals as compared to natural foods. Packaged food and snacks are also created specifically so that we get enough texture and taste from each bite to tantalize our taste buds; but not enough to make us feel full. It’s evident that fast food feels good to eat and tempts us in many different situations. Fast food first popularized in the 1970s in the United States, which has today the largest fast food industry in the world. As taste, time considerations, convenience, and cost are major factors that contribute to an adolescent's or young adult's food choices, fast food restaurants serve as popular sites for their meals eaten outside the home. Current approaches suggest that fast food restaurants should be required to clarify nutrition information such as energy and fat content on their menu boards and on product packaging. This is important to help the consumer to make better food choices before purchasing. An adequate, nutritious, and balanced diet is essential to maintain health for one's lifetime. To achieve this healthy diet, fast food consumption should be limited.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46398000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its development occurred in close relationship with Thoracic Surgery for obvious anatomical reasons and both were born from general surgical activity, not specialized according to the concepts currently used [1]. Thoracic Surgery preceded Cardiovascular Surgery, which was defined as an independent entity as soon as the technological advances allowed physicians the entry into the cardiac cavities for the correction of congenital heart disease [1]. and thanks to these advances its surgical spectrum is much broader today.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45716849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The design of such a system requires the knowledge of the human body, biological systems and engineering to set-up and install regulated control systems to support living cells. Microfluidic devices provide dynamic conditions and keep cells alive with continuous monitoring to conduct specific experiments. However, the human body is a complex system of many cells. Scientists Sender, Fuchs and Milo from Weizmann Institute reported that the number of human cells in a 70 kg “reference man” is estimated to be about 30 trillion and the number of bacterial cells found throughout the body is about 39 trillion. These trillions of human and bacterial cells live together in the body in a coordinated fashion influenced by countless external and internal signals, hormones, cytokines, local responses and mediators. How easy will it be to design a system that includes these trillions of different cells and signals? Even though the microfluidic channels do provide layers of cells attached to a plastic substratum, the materials used are far-removed from the living world of the architecture of the microcirculation and capillary beds. The synthetic material commonly used is PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) which has been explicitly shown to adsorb biomolecules. Thus, surface chemists can provide expertise to modify such surfaces or develop alternative materials for better compatibility with cells and less adsorption of molecules.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41908438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rhodochrosite (MnCO3) shows completesolid solution with siderite (FeCO3), and it may contain substantial amounts of Zn, Mg, Co, and Ca. There is no precedent in theliterature on the treatment of tumor tissues by eliminating these affected tissues, using rhodocrosite crystals in tissue absorption and eliminating cancerous tissues by synchrotron radiation. The infrared rhodochrosite spectrum of the vibration absorbance frequencies was obtained to verify that these frequencies should be used in synchrotron radiation, which can destroy cancerous cells by absorbing such crystals. Hartree-Fock methods also analyzed APT and Mulliken charges, verifying the main binding sites of Manganese, Oxygen and Carbon atoms in cancerous tumors. Later studies could check the advantages and disadvantages of rhodochrosite in the treatment of cancer through synchrotron radiation, such as one oscillator crystal. An in-depth study is necessary to verify the absorption by the tumoral and non-tumoral tissues of rhodochrosite, before and after irradiating of synchrotron radiation using Small–Angle X–Ray Scattering (SAXS), Ultra–Small Angle X–Ray Scattering (USAXS), Fluctuation X–Ray Scattering (FXS), Wide–Angle X–Ray Scattering (WAXS), Grazing–Incidence Small–Angle X–Ray Scattering (GISAXS), Grazing–Incidence Wide–Angle X–Ray Scattering (GIWAXS), Small–Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS), Grazing–Incidence Small–Angle Neutron Scattering (GISANS), X–Ray Diffraction (XRD), Powder X–Ray Diffraction (PXRD), Wide–Angle X–Ray Diffraction (WAXD), Grazing– Incidence X–Ray Diffraction (GIXD) and Energy–Dispersive X–Ray Diffraction (EDXRD.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43851023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: To characterize the patients of childbearing age with vaginal discharge syndrome in the Basic Working Group number 2 of the Párraga polyclinic between January and December 2018. Method: Observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. 195 patients of childbearing age [between 15 and 49 years of age] of the medical office 10 were studied in the period from January to December 2018 who attended the medical consultation referring to presenting vaginal discharge and / or associated symptoms performing anamnesis, physical examination, and microbiological study. 32.8% were between 25 and 29 years old and 41.7% were black. At least half were 52.3% pre-university, more than 59.0% were workers. The majority began sexual intercourse before the age of 20. 90.3% presented risk factors associated with vaginal discharge. The white, lumpy caseous flow represented 63.1%. At least 9 out of 10 patients presented vaginitis. More than 75% had Monilia or Gardnerella vaginalis. It was found that 95% of patients with vaginitis had risk factors. Patients predominated between the second and third decade of life, of the black race, with the pre-university concluded and workers. The majority were single or accompanied, had begun their sexual life at an early age and presented risk factors. Patients with vaginitis prevailed, with white, lumpy, case-like discharge and with Monilia as the germ causing vaginal discharge. There was a statistically significant relationship between the presence of risk factors and the flow classification.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41913790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
