This paper tries to address the question of the selection between the two main types of VDDI available, digital or analogue, and identify what some of the most important factors are that may affect this selection. In that aid the paper briefly covers how the displays and VDDI are classified, their uses and objectives, the factors that could affect the selection process and finally a comparison between digital and analogue VDDI. The quantitative assessment of the impact of VDDI on the human elements of functionable systems could be determined by making use of MIRCE Functionability Equation. It enables to predict the impact of each feasible options of VDDI on the expected work to be delivered by the system","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46816920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the simplest alternatives is the use of plant extracts or even biological microorganisms. Among these alternatives, the use of plant extracts is fully capable of replacing classical chemical and physical methods. Nanoparticle biosynthesis based on the use of several plants and their most distinct components is simple, efficient, and presents good reproducibility. The properties of the particles, such as shape and size, are controlled by varying the pH, salt concentration, temperature, and time of exposure to different plant extracts. This review tries to assess the importance of the present theme in the last decade, presenting bibliometric numbers that prove the relevance of this theme, as well as the leading countries in front of these developments, besides the periodicals and the principal authors by their number of citations. The main idea is that this work may be the direction of future research in the area, facilitating the search for the most relevant niches.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46243085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A large part of these complex-patients suffer from multiple chronic diseases and are spending a lot of money. Currently, coronavirus COVID-19 has affected 203 countries around the world,killed more than 42,000 and infected more than 860,000 [1]. Home-care is especially important in these situations because hospitals are not seemingly safe during pandemicoutbreaks. Also, the chance to get out of the home during the lockdown period is limited. Telemedicine and telehealth technologies are especially effective during epidemic outbreaks, when health authorities recommend implementing social distance systems. Telephonebased measures improve efficiency by linking appropriate information and feedback. In addition to increasing access to healthcare, telemedicine is a fruitful and proactive way to provide a variety of benefits to patients seeking healthcare; diagnose and monitor critical and chronic health conditions; improve healthcare quality and reduce costs.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45839943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In medical domain it is becoming an important aspect of medical informatics. The objectives of building medical ontology are constructing more powerful and more interoperable information systems in health care. This paper builds a tooth-diseases ontology that represents the anatomical structure to the diagnosis of diseases. We consider the tooth diseases among Jordanians. Frequent diseases were selected to be represented after discussions with a dentist’s specialist. Their symptoms and respective treatments are then formalized. Finally, OWL based ontology is constructed. Thus, obtaining a formal diagnostic model for tooth diseases. This enables better understanding and diagnosis of such diseases by dentists, dental students and the ones who lack field experiences.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48697190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the majority of authors study the visceral branches, but talking about the anatomy of the parietal branches of the internal iliac artery, they are not enough described in the literature. The variability in branching of the iliolumbar artery (ILA) has significant value in anatomy, medicine and in surgery, of course, because it is the very important for nutrition of the ilium bone as well as for collateral blood supply to the lower extremity in case of occlusion of the external iliac artery via anastomosis with a deep circumflex ilium artery. The ILA is used in various surgical manipulations that approach the sacroiliac joint or connections between lower lumbar vertebrae [3,4], in procedures of embolization [5-9]. Besides, variability of the iliolumbar artery needs to keep in mind in its use as feeding pedicle in bone flaps [6].","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69448026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
