{"title":"Filtered Back-Projection Reconstruction with Non-Uniformly Under-Sampled Projections.","authors":"Gengsheng L Zeng,&nbsp;Megan Zeng","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Tomographic imaging systems normally assume measurements with uniform angular sampling. The view angles are uniformly distributed, and the number of views is approximately the number of the detectors at one view. If the Nyquist sampling criterion is not satisfied, aliasing artifacts may appear in the reconstructed image. If the angular sampling is not uniform, we may be able to reconstruction the image using under-sampled sinograms. This paper presents a case study, which involves a non-uniformly under-sampled sinogram. A closed-form formula is proposed to convert the non-uniformly under-sampled sinogram to uniformly properly sampled sinogram. Finally, the filtered back-projection (FBP) algorithm is used to reconstruct the image. The proposed formula is exact in the sense that the sinogram is band-limited, which is never true in reality.</p>","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10081563/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"9282878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The success of machine learning techniques inspires humans to design better systems. The convolutional neural network (CNN) has a multi-channel architecture, which the conventional filters do not have. This paper proposes that by borrowing the multi-channel architecture, the human-designed denoising filter can have better performance than the machined-learned version. In the absence of an abnormality inhibiting vascular flow at the level of arterial trunks, decline in erectile function is in fact strongly linked to a lack of bioavailability of nitrous oxide (NO) which by its vasodilatory activity improves the filling of corpora cavernosa with blood [4]. This explains that for many men, the main problem they face is not the frequency of their erections, but their quality and specifically their hardness for which NO plays a major role.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42562852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We defined 16 peptides, 15 amino acids long, out of the whole Fc sequence immunogenic in healthy donors and patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a systemic autoimmune disease. In Immunology it is still debated how the thymic selection of T cells that recognize “self” peptides occurs as these T cells could be potentially harmful. However, nTreg recognize “self” and are very important in controlling the immune homeostasis. Here we show by screening the Immune epitope Data Base (IEDB) that the immunodominant Fc peptides that stimulate nTreg have a very high sequence homology with “non-self” peptides derived from a variety of pathogens. These results suggest that T cells with T cell receptors that recognize “self” peptides could be rescued from the negative selection in the thymus by engaging antigenic peptides with high sequence homology and or that pathogens may inhibit the immune regulation by jeopardizing nTreg expansion by T cell receptor antagonism.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44870095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among them, handgrip strength is easy to use because it can be easily measured in a short time (3 to 5 seconds). There are few reports that evaluate handgrip endurance, we reported it. The subjects were 16 people (78.2±3.7 years old) living in Hiroshima City. Using a grip strength meter T.K.K.5401 (Takei Kiki Co., Ltd.), the maximum force in the dominant handgrip strength was measured while holding for 20 seconds, and the average value per second was calculated from the obtained results. As a comparison group, 11 students (21.5±0.5 years old, hereafter: young group) enrolled also performed similar measurements. Result: The maximum grip strength was significantly lower in the elderly group than in the young group. The change in grip strength for 20 seconds in each group was significantly lower than the maximum value in the young group after 16 seconds had passed since the start of the grip exercise. On the other hand, in the elderly group, no decrease in grip strength was observed within 20 seconds after the start of the grip exercise (interaction effect p<0.01). Comparing the transition of the elapsed time from the maximum value, the young group showed a significant decrease after 12 seconds from the start, but the elderly group did not show a significant decrease. Conclusion: The elderly group did not show a significant decrease in handgrip endurance for 20 seconds. When momentary exertion of power is required in daily life, if the purpose cannot be achieved, other means and ingenuity are required to achieve the purpose. In the future, I would like to find out the relevance and risk with evaluation other items, whether it will be one index in physical fitness tests.","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45855718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Determining with minimum computational methods via ab initio Hartree-Fock methods, infrared spectrum and their peak absorbance frequencies. The option for simple replacement of carbon by silicon is due to the peculiar characteristics between both. Atomic interactions under non-carbon conditions were studied, with only the Hydrogen, Silicon, Nitrogen and Oxygen atoms, in CNTP, for the four standard bases of DNA, A, C, G and T, thus obtaining by quantum chemistry four new compounds, named here as: ASi, CSi, GSi and TSi. Computational calculations admit the possibility of the formation of such molecules, their existence being possible via quantum chemistry. Calculations obtained in the ab initio Unrestricted and Restrict Hartree-Fock method, (UHF and RHF) in the set of bases used Effective core potential (ECP) minimal basis, UHF CEP-31G (ECP split valance) and UHF CEP-121G (ECP triple-split basis), CC-pVTZ (Correlation-consistent valence-only basis sets triple-zeta) and 6-311G**(3df, 3pd) (Gaussian functions quadruple-zeta basis sets).","PeriodicalId":72276,"journal":{"name":"Archives in biomedical engineering & biotechnology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44327837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every year hematological disease are affecting million people from malignancies to acquired coaglupathiesis. However, the characterization of genes of interest remains a great challenge. The optimal way to unravel the roles of particular genes is to manipulate their functions via gene deletion, insertion or modification. Genome engineering is defined as the deliberate modification of an organism’s genetic material. From the 1980s several studies unravel the genetic mutation and their effect on human disease to determine the malignancies and advance diagnosis, prevention and diagnosis. Earlier gene editing technology were homologous recombination which was less efficient, time consuming & laborintensive process. Later in subsequent years, Zinc finger nucleases [ZFNs] & transcription activator-like effector nucleases [TALENs], was introduced to stimulate cellular DNA repair pathways. But there are so many limitations, so to overcome those limitation CRIPR associated CAS9 protein has introduce to start a new era of genome editing. From past few years CRISPR have change the path of genome editing be developing plant and animal models and the alleviation of human disease like hematological disorders. According to research crRNA sequence have significance role in targeting DNA [1,2]. To established CRISPR/Cas9 Jinek et al, 2012 introduce crRNA and tracrRNA into a single 100 nucleotide and a guider RNA which helps in the breaking of double stranded DNA and thus successfully genome editing done in human and mouse cells [3]. In the hematopoietic setting, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing has been applied both in research and in clinical translation studies.
