Data collection got conducted on interviews with 30 visually impaired. Research objects included context as an orientation and mobility (OM) system as stated in 'Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 36 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for Transporting People by Train' and 'Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 of 2017 concerning the Requirements for Building Facilities Convenience’, namely: tactile paving, braille sign , signage, map, information board, and ticket. Generally, the visually impaired did not receive good minimum services at the station since the universal design principles had not yet get applied to design tactile-based accessibility standards. Maka diperlukan studi dan analisis mengenai kondisi jalur pedestrian taman kota Lapangan Merdeka khususnya bagi pengguna disabilitas. Penelitian akan dilakukan dengan pengamatan langsung pada objek penelitian, yaitu jalur pedestrian Lapangan Merdeka Bengkulu, dengan pendataan dan analisa terhadap variabel fasilitas pedestrian baik ukuran, permukaan, area istirahat, pencahayaan, drainase, ram, tangga, dan rambu/marka. Hasil yang didapatkan bahwa jalur pedestrian Lapangan Merdeka Kota Bengkulu, terkait fasilitas bagi penyandang disabilitas masih memiliki beberapa kekurangan baik dari kualitas maupun keberagaman. Sehingga jalur pedestrian Lapangan Merdeka Kota Bengkulu belum sepenuhnya ramah terhadap penyandang disabilitas. The children with special needs, including those with autism, impacts all members of his/her family and leads to the emergence of crisis experiences in the family. The article talks the resiliency of parent/s with autistic chil- dren in Palembang Terapi Center. This paper is written with a phenom- enological approach. Findings show that dominant themes emerged regarding resiliency in this paper setting are self-acceptance, self-ef- ficacy, and adaptation. Several factors that influence the resilience of parents with autistic children are individual abilities, children’s con- ditions, environment, and religious values. Moreover, there are three types of resiliencies according to the level of difficulty experienced by parent/s; high level of difficulty, moderate level of difficulty, and lower level of difficulty.\u0000Di negara berkembang, keterbatasan layanan sosial bagi penyandang disabilitas dan tanggung jawab atas tumbuh kembang anak penyandang disabilitas seringkali dikaitkan dengan orang tua. Keberadaan anak berkebutuhan khusus, termasuk anak dengan autisme berdampak pada seluruh anggota keluarga dan berujung pada kemuncul pengalaman krisis keluarga. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi resiliensi orang tua yang memiliki anak dengan autisme di Pusat Terapi Palembang. Artikel ini ditulis dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Temuan menunjukkan tema terkait resiliensi dalam penerimaan diri, efikasi diri, dan adaptasi. Temuan lain adalah faktor yang mempengaruhi resiliensi orang tua yang memiliki anak autisme dengan kemampuan individu, kondisi anak, lingkungan, dan nilai agama. {"title":"Challenges in Implementing Health Protocols of COVID-19 for People with Visual Loss","authors":"C. Widayanti, K. This qualitative study was undertaken on six participants with vision loss to understand the challenges they had when implementing health protocols in the prevention of COVID-19. Open coding, axial coding, and selective coding were conducted to analyse the data. The study also pointed out that participants experienced physical, psychological, economic and social challenges in exercising the health protocols of COVID-19, such as in implementing physical distancing and wearing face masks. The participants felt alienated because of their limited direct interactions and experienced loss of income. Online learning caused minimize learning experiences and accessibility problems. These challenges potentially widen discrimination and inequality practices for people with disabilities in Indonesia with COVID-19 mitigation preparedness plan.\u0000COVID-19 telah menimbulkan tantangan bagi penyandang disabilitas, termasuk mereka dengan hambatan visual, yang mempengaruhi kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk memahami tantangan dan strategi yang dilakukan partisipan dengan hambatan visual berkaitan dengan melaksanakan kebijakan protokol kesehatan. Open coding, axial coding, dan selective coding dilakukan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipan mengalami tantangan fisik, psikologis, sosial, dan ekonomi selama menjalankan protokol kesehatan COVID-19, yang meliputi penggunaan masker dan menjaga jarak. Partisipan menilai adanya pembatasan sosial menimbulkan perasaan terasing karena interaksi tidak dapat dilakukan secara leluasa dan berkurangnya bahkan hilangnya pendapatan. Pembelajaran online mengakibatkan terbatasnya pengalaman belajar dan akses terhadap materi pembelajaran. This paper portrays an exploratory study that explores the perceptions of companions or volunteers on the spirituality and religiosity of Christian children with disabilities. Data were collected by focus group discussions among five participants. The finding shows that the mentoring process needs to be criticized, which links the spirituality and religiosity of children with disabilities to praying and singing hymns. The church has not fully implemented inclusiveness both in physical facilities and services. Families have an essential role in developing the spirituality and religiosity of children with disabilities. Characteristics of children more or less hinder the companion in facilitating the development of spirituality and religiosity of children with disabilities.\u0000Keterbatasan anak penyandang disabilitas memunculkan gagasan tentang hambatan gereja dan anggota gereja dalam mengembangkan lingkungan spiritual dan keagamaan. Tulisan ini menggambarkan sebuah studi eksplorasi yang menggali persepsi pendamping atau relawan terhadap spiritualitas dan religiusitas anak-anak penyandang disabilitas Kristen. Data dikumpulkan dengan diskusi kelompok terfokus di antara lima peserta. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa proses pendampingan perlu dikritisi, yang mengaitkan spiritualitas dan religiusitas anak difabel dengan berdoa dan menyanyikan lagu-lagu pujian. Gereja belum sepenuhnya menerapkan inklusivitas baik dalam fasilitas fisik ataupun pelayanan. Keluarga memiliki peran penting dalam mengembangkan spiritualitas dan religiusitas anak berkebutuhan khusus. This paper aims to reveal the curricula evaluation at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and Tsanawiyah in Lombok, NTB using three stages (antecedents, transactions, and outcomes) of the Countenance Stake model. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires and observation sheets. Findings reveal that three evaluation stages demonstrate the pattern of teacher interaction with students with disabilities; teachers’ understanding of the inclusive curriculum, learning resources and media, inclusive lesson plans, and inclusive learning processes.\u0000Madrasah yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan inklusif memiliki dua kurikulum (kurikulum yang dimodifikasi dan kurikulum darurat) untuk melayani siswa penyandang disabilitas dan dalam rangka mengimplementasikan pendidikan inklusif. Multimedia provides a potential solution for this situation; however, few people know how to develop it ideally. This study uses primary and secondary data to create a strategic model for multimedia-based learning for Deaf students through focus group discussion with the expert, lecturers, parents, and practitioners. At the same time, however, this model recognises that multimedia communication is not sufficient in and of itself for full engagement with them. This article, thus, proposes implementing several activities within universities based on four stages: identify the level of hard hearing, choose the learning style, design multimedia learning, and create engagement. By developing these strategies, Deaf students in higher education can have a comfortable and effective place to learn to minimize the communication barriers between Deaf student and others.\u0000Melakukan komunikasi dengan mahasiswa Tuli merupakan sebuah tantangan bagi para pengajar di pendidikan tinggi. Multimedia merupakan sebuah potensi sebagai solusi dalam situasi ini, hanya saja tidak semua orang memahami dengan baik cara implementasinya secara ideal. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan sekunder untuk menciptakan model strategi berdasarkan pembelajaran berbasis multimedia untuk mahasiswa Tuli melalui diskusi kelompok dengan pihak yang berpengalaman, dosen, orang tua, dan juga praktisi di bidang ini. Pada saat bersamaan, model ini juga melihat bahwa komunikasi multimedia tidak cukup untuk membangun hubungan kedekatan dengan mahasiswa Tuli. Melalui artikel ini, peneliti mengajukan empat tahap pelaksanaan aktivitas di pendidikan tinggi yakni: identifikasi level Tuli, pemilihan gaya mengajar, desain multimedia, dan pembentukan hubungan. The research is the first step for an effective model of counseling services for students with disabilities. Rule Mapping for counseling with qualitative research carries out with three methods under the online survey, the Nominal Group Technique (NGT), and Focus Group Discussion (FGD. With 33 Respondents for the study are the students with intellectual and mental disabilities, Deaf, blind, and physically disabled. Data use interactive and thematic analysis. The result shows an overview with map counselling for students with disabilities on services.\u0000Diskriminasi yang paling menonjol terhadap penyandang disabilitas (PD) adalah pengecualian mereka dalam kesempatan pendidikan yang setara, padahal hak PD untuk mengenyam pendidikan sudah dijamin oleh Konvensi Hak-Hak Penyandang Disabilitas (CRPD). {"title":"Orientation and Mobility Skills of Children with Visual Impairment in Low-income Families in Central Uganda","authors":"O. Specifically, the study explored the existing situation of Orientation and Mobility (O&M) skills of children with visual impairment, their independence, as well as factors responsible for the existing situation. The qualitative research collected information from parents or guardians of children with visual impairment and a Social Worker. The findings indicated that children with visual impairment had poor O&M skills because of lack of involvement in activities. These due to several reasons that included overprotection, no exposure to stimulating environments, and negative attitudes which consequently led to neglect, mistreatment, starvation, and fear to initiate movement. Results also indicated that, involvement in rehabilitation care for the children was generally lacking among fathers than mothers.\u0000Artikel ini meneliti keterampilan Orientasi dan Mobilitas (O&M) anak-anak tunanetra di keluarga berpenghasilan rendah di Uganda Tengah. Secara khusus, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kondisi tingkat keterampilan Orientasi dan Mobilitas (O&M) anak tunanetra, kemandirian mereka, serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi atas kondisi yang ada. Penelitian kualitatif dalam artikel ini mengumpulkan informasi dari para orang tua atau wali anak tunanetra dan seorang pekerja sosial yang dipilih secara sengaja. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa anak tunanetra memiliki keterampilan O&M yang buruk karena kurangnya keterlibatan dalam kegiatan. Di antara penyebabnya adalah perlindungan orang tua yang berlebihan, tidak memiliki lingkungan yang stimulatif, dan sikap negatif yang mengakibatkan pengabaian, perlakuan buruk, kelaparan, dan ketakutan untuk memulai gerakan. {"title":"Bacaan Alquran Orang dengan Hambatan Bicara","authors":"M. This topic has yet to be studied in the study of persons with disabilities and in the study of the Koran. Reading the Quran is an important part a Muslim’s life, including people with speech impediments. Using the analytical-descriptive method, the study answers the question what is the position of people with speech impediments in the context of reading the Qur'an properly and correctly? This article argues that the readings of people with speech impediments should be accepted, not as a rukhsah, as they have their own way of reading based on the oral side of the Qur'an. This article redefines the reading of the Quran and criticizes the standardization of good and correct reading of the Quran which has neglected the condition of people with speech impediments. As an oral text, the reading of the Koran is based on the voice of the reader, not on the clarity of the sound of the letters.\u0000Artikel ini membahas bacaan Alquran bagi orang dengan hambatan bicara, dengan menggunakan perspektif kelisanan Alquran. Topik ini masih luput dikaji dalam kajian penyandang disabilitas maupun kajian Alquran. Padahal, membaca Alquran menjadi bagian penting dalam kehidupan seorang muslim, termasuk orang dengan hambatan bicara. Menggunakan metode deskripsi-analitis, kajian menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana kedudukan orang dengan hambatan bicara dalam konteks membaca Alquran dengan baik dan benar? Melalui deskripsi dan analisis terhadap bacaan Alquran, artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa bacaan orang dengan hambatan bicara yang sebelumnya dipandang sebagai bacaan yang mendapat rukhsah atau functional reception, mempunyai cara baca tersendiri dengan berlandaskan pada sisi kelisanan Alquran. Artikel ini melakukan redefinisi terhadap bacaan Alquran dan mengkritik standarisasi bacaan Alquran yang baik dan benar yang telah mengabaikan kondisi orang-orang dengan hambatan bicara.
