As a result, preceptors reported an increase in competency evaluation confidence ([Mdn 30], [Mdn 35], p < .0001). Over 3 years, 22 nurses participated, resulting in a 91% 1-year retention rate. The authors led an educational podium presentation that included soliciting feedback about NPD certification through formative assessment. Utilizing active learning strategies, participants were then guided through performing an NPD certification Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats analysis. A workgroup from seven-hospital system standardized orientation for stroke nurses who worked in different facilities of varying stroke care capabilities.
