First, in order to overcome the chattering of system caused by discontinuous switching characteristic of signum function in conventional sliding mode observer (CSMO), a continuous saturation function is selected as the switching function. The ASMO adopts the system state-related adaptive gain function to adjust the switching gain value of the system in real time, which overcomes the slow response speed or severe chattering of the system caused by the constant switching gain of CSMO. Second, to reduce the phase delay between the rotor position estimation value and the actual value caused by the adoption of low-pass filter (LPF) and the position estimation error caused by arctangent function method, an OPLL method is designed for accurate estimation of rotor position and speed. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed improved SMO algorithm is verified by simulation and experiments on an SPMSM with rated power of 2 kW.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79167267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we use micromagnetic simulations to study, at room temperature, a state-of-the-art non-resonant low-frequency-tail spin-torque diode in terms of dc output voltage as a function of the amplitude of an in-plane external field applied along different directions. We find that there exists a threshold value of the injected ac current that promotes a linear behavior of the output voltage of field down to the pT range, and we suggest exploiting such a behavior for the design of a magnetic field sensor.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84685899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm to transform the gas contents (resulting from the DGA analysis) into feature maps is introduced, and the resulting feature maps are the input of the CNN. In order to take into account the fact that the data set is imbalanced, the improved Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (SMOTE) is combined with the data cleaning technique to protect the CNN from training bias. The effect of the CNN architecture on the classification performance is also investigated to determine the optimal CNN parameters. All the above mentioned possibilities are tested and their performance investigated; in addition, a final test on the IEC TC 10 transformer fault database validates the accuracy and the generalization potential of the proposed methodology.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73278552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the price of SMC raw material can be very cheap in the future, it is an ideal material for developing the low-cost electrical machine. Combined with SMC cores and low-cost ferrite magnets, some electrical machines with SMC and ferrite magnets for low-cost applications were developed in the past decades, which include the transverse flux flux switched permanent magnet motor (TFFSPMM), axial flux claw pole permanent magnet motor (AFCPM), axial flux vernier motor (AFVM), dual rotor axial flux permanent magnet motor (DRAFM) and axial radial flux permanent magnet motor (RAFM). To better utilize SMC material, all these machines are designed following the design guidelines of SMC machines. Though both of them with good performance for low-cost applications, it is necessary to know the main advantages of each machine. The main target of this paper is to compare these machines quantitatively. For obtaining the comparison results fairly all these machines are optimized by using the sequential robust Taguchi method. Finally, it can be seen that the AFVM and TFFSPMM are with relatively high torque ability and the DRAFM is with high efficiency and power factor ability.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"12 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72430727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First we have prepared the matrix material of the robot, which is a mixture of silica gel and NdFeB powders. Then the deformation and motion of the robot driven by the magnet are recorded, and the warping and arching configurations are analyzed. Because of the problem that its multi-field coupling nonlinear dynamic characteristics are difficult to accurately describe, the multi-field coupled nonlinear dynamic model of GMA and two-dimensional micro-positioning workbench is established according to the Jiles–Atherton hysteresis model, magnetostrictive model, hysteresis nonlinear magnetic equation and the structural dynamics principle of GMA, respectively. The influence of equivalent damping coefficient, equivalent stiffness, and equivalent mass on the dynamic characteristics of each model is analyzed, and finally, the constructed model and the obtained law are experimentally verified. The results show that the displacement curve calculated by the model is consistent with the experimentally measured displacement curve, the influence of the equivalent damping coefficient, equivalent stiffness, and equivalent mass on the dynamic characteristics of the model measured by the experiment is consistent with the simulation analysis results, and the maximum error of the output displacement is 1.779 um, which verifies the correctness of the model. The research results provide a theoretical basis for improving the dynamic characteristics of GMA and improving the output performance of two-dimensional micro-positioning workbenches.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88004457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the levitated object needs to withstand an increasing bending load in levitated state, this requires the control system to have a strong robustness. Therefore, a centralized sliding mode controller (CSMC) was proposed for the levitation. Furthermore, based on CSMC, an adaptive centralized sliding mode controller with the bending load as scheduling variable (ACSMC), which is the novelty of this paper, were proposed to deal with the disturbance caused by the bending load. Simulation results demonstrated that ACSMC has good robustness to three typical bending loads, i.e., ramp load, sine load, step load. Finally, experiments were conducted and experiment results demonstrated that ACSMC allows the device to withstand ramp bending load, sine bending load and step bending load up to 50 N.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"65 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75257578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique is intended to examine stress or fatigue-loaded ferromagnetic structures. First, the material has to be magnetized (e.g. using an array of permanent magnets) to obtain a specific magnetization path with a quasi-sinusoidal shape. Then, remanence is measured and recorded for further analysis. After the operation or static stress load, the measurement is repeated. Analysis of the relative change in magnetization enables applied stress to be identified unequivocally.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84220990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the magnetic-field effects on carbon material growth were found to originate from the magnetic-field orientation. However, we observed that the magnetic-field orientation did not affect the growth of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs); instead, under a magnetic field of 10 T, the preferential growth of metallic SWCNTs (1-nm diameter) was observed using chemical vapor deposition and liquid decomposition, suggesting chirality selectivity. Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectra showed that the defect structure and oxygen content of SWCNTs increased with increasing magnetic-field intensity. Therefore, thin metallic nanotubes can be selectively grown by applying a high magnetic field in environments where nanotubes are relatively difficult to form.","PeriodicalId":50340,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89579754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Finally, the PID control of the system is performed, and simulations and experiments are carried out. Experimental results: under the 0.05 mm step signal in the X direction, the position response time of the system is 0.1 s, and the angle response time of 0.001 rad is 0.2 s.
