A good way of optimizing resource allocation is the regular evaluation of suppliers to select resources. <em>E</em>-book resources were used as the starting point to examine the method of supplier evaluation within the concept of “smart library” using an analytic hierarchical process to integrate and weight perspectives from e-vendors, academics, and professional librarians. Findings demonstrate that both traditional and “smart” factors impact the final evaluation of e-book suppliers. In addition, the influence of smart service factors on the efficacy of library innovation can be evaluated by the linear regression method. Two systematic methods in the assessment of e-book suppliers were outlined and the concept of “smart factors” based on traditional indicators for application in constructing digital book resources was introduced.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":47618,"journal":{"name":"Library & Information Science Research","volume":"45 3","pages":"Article 101254"},"PeriodicalIF":2.9,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49858772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reported findings based on a questionnaire to LAM professionals in Norway and Sweden indicate that user participation is viewed differently depending on how the professionals perceive their roles in relation to those of other professions. Analysis of the underlying relationships between the questionnaire respondents' perceptions and attitudes identifies three subject positions with associated interpretative repertoires: power sharing, outsourcing and engaging experts. Additional analysis using a four-quadrant model of user engagement that differentiates between bottom-up and top-down approaches and between areas of organizational activity suggests that the respondents primarily see themselves as experts within their respective fields and have yet to relinquish this role in favor of a more bottom-up approach to user participation.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":47618,"journal":{"name":"Library & Information Science Research","volume":"45 3","pages":"Article 101249"},"PeriodicalIF":2.9,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49858766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main contributions include 1) a summary of the key characteristics of individuals who often access health information through proxy seekers; 2) types of health information surrogates sought and sources employed; 3) a classification scheme of factors influencing PHISB; 4) a synthesis of how health information used and its subsequent outcomes; 5) a theoretical framework for proxy health information-seeking. This study aimed to understand innovative public library services during the pandemic and provide a typology that represent their services. Twitter messages of 12 large public libraries were analyzed to identify library services. A total of 751 Tweets were coded with thematic tags by service types and innovative approaches. Using the social innovation typology by Winberry and Potnis (2021), their typology was revised to show public libraries' innovative services under the emergency circumstances. The findings suggested significant differences within social innovation categories and newly emerged themes. The revised social innovation typology developed from Twitter data during the pandemic includes nine major categories of public libraries' innovative service types and provides updated insights into how public libraries continue to serve as important community resources using innovative approaches. The research study was a phenomenological case study approach. Eleven participants were selected using purposeful sampling among the summer students. The information was gathered using a semi-structured, in-depth interview that was recorded. Data were transcribed, translated, coded, categorized, and thematically analyzed. Data quality was used as a code book. The study of summer education programs for in-service training found that they were not sufficient to acquaint teachers with subject matter knowledge, and summer programs were blamed for affecting the quality of education due to the lack of in-depth teaching. The absence of monitoring and control of summer education programs leads to additional factors directly affecting the quality of summer education, with students being overcrowded and experiencing content overload. Policy implementation gap that affects the process of implementing summer education programs within the given time. It was also stated that the problems with the summer education program started with the registration period and that the scope of content and lesson time are disproportionate. It was difficult to assess all students and have enough time to practice with the shortness of time and the large number of students in the class. As a result of the summer graduates, primary and secondary teachers struggle to express themselves in English and lack of ICT abilities, which impacts summer students. The results confirmed that it can be saved to card games and completely blocked the game of figures. That’s why summer education turns into a regular program. The research also analyzed the trustworthiness of the data using phenomenological incense. Finally, the study's findings addressed the conceptual framework of the diagram from the findings of the study's discussion, conclusions, and implications, which were investigated.","PeriodicalId":47618,"journal":{"name":"Library & Information Science Research","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.9,"publicationDate":"2023-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79930320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is set against the background of the primacy of talk in learning and the heightened significance of interaction in teaching and learning contexts where the medium of instruction is not the learners’ mother tongue. This is the ELT context in Nigeria where a foreign language (English) is the overarching medium of instruction from mid-primary education upwards. The quality of both teaching and learning in such contexts will largely depend on the competences and management of interaction by teachers and learners. The study is anchored on Lev Vygotsky’s Socio-cultural Theory of Development and it adopted a qualitative methodology; which interrogated existing literature on the subject as the basis for formulations on practice. The studies evaluated in this paper indicate significant research evidence in support of the variation of interaction patterns in the classroom and the primacy of talk in learning. This aligns to Vygotsky’s view that language plays a powerful role in shaping thought (learning). Based on these findings, the paper presented six strategies that could enhance classroom interaction and promote high learning outcome in the Nigerian ELT context. The paper concluded that a teacher’s classroom practice is a significant factor in determining the degree to which the teacher contributes to the learning outcome.","PeriodicalId":47618,"journal":{"name":"Library & Information Science Research","volume":"76 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.9,"publicationDate":"2023-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82760402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
