Berenson et al. (2013) developed the Adult Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (A-RSQ), which evaluates the anxious expectation of perceived rejection by people close to them.</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>The purpose of our study was to investigate the psychometric qualities of a French version of the A-RSQ.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>This study was conducted with 140 French participants. The participants completed online our French translation of the A-RSQ and the Borderline Symptoms List (BSL-23), the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised Questionnaire (ECR-R) and the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale Self-reported (LSAS-SR).</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The internal validity of the A-RSQ is acceptable. The A-RSQ is positively and significantly correlated with the three reference scales: BSL-23, LSAS-SR and ECR-R. Factor analysis suggests a three-factor structure.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>This French version of the A-RSQ presents psychometric qualities comparable to its original version. {"title":"The perceptions of social context (PoSC): Introducing the PoSC scale","authors":"Laura Borgogni , Guido Alessandri , Lorenzo Filosa","doi":"10.1016/j.erap.2022.100809","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.erap.2022.100809","url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Introduction</h3><p>The <em>Perception of Social Context</em> refers to the perceptions that workers have of (1) the immediate supervisor, (2) the colleagues, and (3) top management of their organization.</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>The purpose of the present paper is to introduce the Perceptions of Social Context (PoSC) scale, an instrument for assessing workers’ perception of their social context.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>We used three studies (<em>N</em> total<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->960) to test the internal, external, convergent, and predictive validity of the PoSC, as well as its reliability.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>In Study 1, the hypothesized three-factor structure was empirically tested and supported by means of exploratory structural equation modeling. Study 2 provided further support for the factorial structure of the scale and evidence for its convergent and external validity in relation to important organizational variables. The 12-item Herth Hope Index (HHI) measures different dimensions of hope and assesses the state of motivation to overcome situations with strong stressful or life threatening factors.</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of a French adaptation of the HHI.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>Based on a French translation of the HHI made during a translation and counter-translation process (HHI-F), 247 higher education students completed an online survey on their mental health state during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included the HHI-F. A principal factor analysis (PCA) and several confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) were conducted to compare the structure of the HHI-F with that of the original scale. Internal consistency and convergent validity were also assessed.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The best model relates to a two-factor solution, corresponding to the Spanish translation of the HHI. Internal consistency was very satisfactory, with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of .895 and a McDonald's Omega coefficient of .898. Significant correlations were observed between the HHI-F score and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) and Brief Resilient Coping Scale (BRCS).</p></div><div><h3>Discussion</h3><p>The HHI-F showed good psychometric qualities, although its structure does not fully correspond to the original version of the HHI. The Twenty-Item Value Inventory (TwIVI, Sandy et al., 2017) was developed to assess values with items from the Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ, Schwartz et al., 2001).</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>The goal of this study was to assess the reliability and validity of the French version of the TwIVI.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>Two French-Canadian samples of adults (N1<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->825; N2<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->429) were recruited in order to test the reliability and validity of the TwIVI.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Results revealed that the French version of the TwIVI showed satisfying temporal stability, convergence validity with the PVQ, and concurrent validity with personality traits<span>. Some issues were observed for internal consistency and structural validity, assessed with both multidimensional scaling and exploratory structural equation modeling.</span></p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>Overall, these findings partially support the psychometric qualities of the French version of the TwIVI.
