This study examined perceived ethnic discrimination in the workplace, levels of occupational stress, and general well-being across Australian migrant and nonmigrant workers with a nationally representative sample of 344 Australian migrant (32%) and nonmigrant (68%) workers. Results showed that migrant workers had higher scores on perceived discrimination and occupational stress, and lower scores on personal well-being. This study assessed the influence of sense of coherence and vocational identity on the relationship between posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) and work role functioning. Results from a sample of 131 combat Veterans found significant relationships between study variables. Sense of coherence mediated the relationship between PTSS and work role functioning. An indirect relationship between PTSS and work role functioning through vocational identity was not supported. Sense of coherence did not moderate the relationship between PTSS and vocational identity. Examining the logistical use and the importance of FPRs, participants indicated that they utilized FPRs routinely, sought them out early in the selection process, and placed high value on them. By collecting the data from college students in school-to-work transition, academic burnout and job-seeking burnout were measured longitudinally at 6-month intervals in the same sample. By carrying out a multi-trait multi-method analysis with the MBI-SS, the construct validity of the MBI-JS was confirmed. The convergent and discriminant validity of MBI-JS was proved by comparing MBI-JS with the MBI-SS and The Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression Scale (CES-D). This validation study of the job-seeking burnout scale (MBI-JS) can be the cornerstone for investigating job-seeking burnout. The current study evaluates the structural validity of the PGI short form in Vietnam (N =1140). The results of the randomized tests of hypothetical order relations support the inclusion of prestige in the PGI spherical model, as a means to better calibrate the assessment of vocational interest across cultural contexts, specifically to Vietnam. Furthermore the results endorse the application of the abbreviated form of the PGI in a career counseling context as a time-efficient, screening method.","PeriodicalId":45998,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Employment Counseling","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47167935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
