This study investigates what is the perception that students of a public and a private university in Ecuador have about aspects such as connectivity and learning in the digital age. A survey was applied to 571 students to analyze through quantitative and qualitative techniques how the process of adaptation to this modality of studies imposed by the emergence of COVID-19 has been. Qualitative phenomenological design was used to explore theoretical models and expert opinion. Sample was selected retrospectively and by saturation. Data were processed by categorization and analyzed by triangulation. 20 factors and 5 dimensions were obtained in technology transfer, and three types of articulation. The first study aims to analyze the literature related to the construct of «academic analytics» and «learning analysis» as well as its link with the concept of «digital transformation» in the field of higher education. The second study focuses on knowing the opinions and demands regarding the digital transformation of postgraduate degrees at the University of La Laguna (ULL) and the perception of teachers and students in the use of virtual learning environments after the impact of COVID-19. The third and final study aims to analyze the pedagogical models inherent in virtual classrooms of subjects from postgraduate degrees and the behavior patterns of teachers and students in virtual classrooms through the analysis of their data. This article analyzes the results obtained from the execution of a systematic mapping of the literature. Competencies necessity to be correctly assessed, tested and verify, to fulfill the regulations of academic internship experiences, so that competencies continue to be assessed by a “competency standard”, which specifies all the skills, talents, knowledge, abilities and experience required for each competency. To take advantage of all of these benefits, large institutions are investing in MOOCs platforms to monetize their method, making MOOCs available in several languages and disciplines. Because of the high attrition rate observed on many MOOC platforms, dropout prediction, or identifying students at risk of dropping out of a course, is an essential topic to study. By regarding dropout prediction as a sequence classification problem, we propose comparison classification models for solving it., based on machine learning algorithms. Such is the case of the Education field, where e-learning became the main (and sometimes the only) tool available to ensure that teaching activities could continue. This work analyzes the case of a cybersecurity program taught online in Chile from 2019 to this day.
