Examples are hiring decision support systems, criminal justice, facial and voice recognition, or machine translators. In order to make students aware of the development of these intelligent systems in the future, it is necessary to incorporate specific ethics content with a gender perspective as a transversal competence in university degrees and masters related to artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this paper we present the experiences in two subjects of machine learning, one undergraduate and one master, which are taught for the first time in the academic year 2020-2021 at the University of Santiago de Compostela. This article presents a review of the literature on the use of OER and the adoption of specialized repositories of digital educational resources. The review shows clear evidence that there is a division between the Global North and South in terms of participation with open educational resources (OER). However, learners have not been totally happy with the offer as a result of these tactics. In this paper, to compensate for the shortcomings of previous approaches, propose a novel clustering-based strategy. The results of one of these initiatives is presented in this paper with regard to participation by the professors and the evaluation of the project. We refer to the mentoring programme for digital competencies of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University of Malaga, in which the professors themselves have trained and guided other professors at the university in order to help them adapt their teaching. The results show a high level of participation and satisfaction on the part of the faculty, as well as a positive impact on teaching according to the students themselves. The lack of females depends on different external and internal factors that make it a complex problem. In particular, this gap is most pronounced in engineering. Engineering and technical studies have a shortage of female vocations and a high dropout rate. In this paper, we present the pilot peer-mentoring programme, which has been carried out in the 2020-21 academic year at the University of Salamanca in the Higher Polytechnic School of Zamora. Mentoring has been given to first-year female students of engineering degrees. These projects are the source of inspiration for the research that gives rise to this article among others. This paper focuses on how teachers’ professional development is approached using technologies within European projects related to eLearning under the umbrella of Erasmus+. The results show a greater representation of projects from the school education and vocational education and training fields. As its main results it could be highlighted that the most predominant ICT resources used by the teachers are those linked with office automation management, basic skills, and presentations as well as platforms for collaboration; those related to video and photo edition, the use of network resources and digital learning environment also stand out. Besides regarding ICT training the most frequent activities are \"training by another teacher who has attended a course on ICT\" and \"Observation practices to other teachers who use ICT in their teaching\".
