Abstract

The emergence of Open Educational Resources (OER) triggers specific characteristics in the repositories, which have had to adapt to the needs of OER users, identifying and creating specific typologies, addressed by recent research. This article presents a review of the literature on the use of OER and the adoption of specialized repositories of digital educational resources. The review shows clear evidence that there is a division between the Global North and South in terms of participation with open educational resources (OER).
