This paper presents a method to introduce in series with passive filter, a positive inductance and analyzes various results for mistuned values of passive filter. A \"Phase Locked Loop (PLL) free\" technique has been proposed for harmonic detection in harmonically balanced conditions whereas, for unbalanced conditions \"Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)\" technique has been presented. Gate pulses for the Voltage Source Converter (VSC) have been generated using two different techniques-Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) for balanced conditions and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) for unbalanced conditions. The simulated results for both the cases have been presented using MATLAB/SIMULINK tool.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126390928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The structure was designed and simulated using 3D full wave EM solver Ansys HFSS. Various characteristics of microstrip filters such as return loss, roll off rate, gain and bandwidth have been studied for all the three CSRR-DGS and a comparative study has been done among all these. Furthermore, the number of elements has been changed from one to four in successive order for all three CSRRs and the improvement in return loss has been proved. Based on these studies, optimized microstrip filters have been designed for circle, square and novel D shape and the same have been realized.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125167541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sampling-based algorithms can generate trajectories and reach the target avoiding obstacles. But the trajectories cannot match the physical constraints of injecting the pliable needle to the human flesh, as the trajectories are intermittent. Aiming at solving this problem, an enhanced Probabilistic RoadMaps [PRMs] is used in this work to solve this issue. PRM generates the trajectories for surgeries that are minimally invasive and simultaneously guarantees the effectiveness and continuity of the trajectory. In this research work, the classical PRM method is enhanced using shape preserving Piecewise Cubic Hermite Interpolation (PCHIP) technique, used to generate smooth trajectories, which are important for curved path navigation of the pliable needle for injecting in a surgery. Trajectories that have been generated using the PRM satisfy direction constraints approach on both source and target positions. As a result, the trajectories produced by the pliable needle are dynamically and geometrically feasible. Simulation results performed show the validity of the algorithm implying that it can be efficiently applied to trajectory planning of pliable needle utilizing in real-time surgical operations.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133207507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A tumor which begins in the brain tissues are generally identified as primary brain tumors. A tumor can either be malignant or benign. Diagnosis of this tumor can be done by neurological examine, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other tests which helps in predicting the right treatment. Early recognition reduces the severity and death rate. This work proposes the two step method to examine the tumor. To enhance the tumor social group optimization assisted Tsallis entropy approach is used and to segment the tumor water shed method is used. This tool is tested with various images in the BRATS dataset. The competence of the proposed work is established by image likeness measures, such as Jaccard, dice, sensitivity and specificity. The result shows that the proposed method is clinically significant as it contributes superior image similarity and statistical measures.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"185 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115739836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the non-invasive measurement of EGG signals, the surface electrodes are positioned on the stomach and the physical properties of these electrodes, play an important role. In this work, the changes in electrode contact area of surface electrodes and its effects on the fractal dimension of the recorded EGG signals has been analyzed. Three different fractal dimensions such as Maragos Fractal Dimension (MFD), Rescaled Range Fractal Dimension (R/S FD) and Spectral Fractal Dimension (SFD) were computed to investigate the effect of two different surface electrodes with contact diameter of 16 mm and 19 mm on the fractal quality of EGG recordings. Further, the normal and abnormal EGG signals such as the signals measured from diarrhea, vomiting and stomach ulcer patients were analyzed using the fractal measures. Results demonstrate that the average values of MFD, R/S FD and SFD of the electrogastrograms is high in the case of the surface electrodes with higher contact diameter. Further, it is demonstrated that there are significant variations in the fractal dimensions of normal and abnormal EGG signals.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121036487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, design of Sliding Mode Control (SMC) based on super twisting approach is discussed for the unstable process. The performance of the SMC is assessed for the servo and the regulatory operations and the performance measures, such as rise time, overshoot, settling time and error values are computed. Also, the robustness of the SMC is tested by introducing the white noise in the feedback loop. Finally, the performance of SMC is validated against the PID controller designed with the conventional approach, FA and PSO. From this result, it is observed that, SMC offers better result compared with the PID for both the servo and regulatory operations.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114841184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, we propose Cognitive Radio enabled VANET (CR-VANET) for the better spectrum availability. This paper proposes spectrum and traffic aware routing protocol with cooperative information collection method for achieving better efficiency. The methodology first senses the spectrum holes and allocates channel using cooperative spectrum sensing. Then the relay node is selected from the road weight obtained by our traffic aware routing algorithm. We consider vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication for a highway scenario. The simulation results show that better packet delivery ratio and spectrum allocation is achieved by our method.","PeriodicalId":445688,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Control and Communication (RTECC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131274623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
