The large number of cells in the module can provide the driving force for reverse breakdown to occur and this can in turn lead to high temperature, high current density and high-packaging materials as well lower the performance of solar modules. Due to partial or complete shading of the cells of photovoltaic system, the power generation is generally affected. By partial shading the module, bypass diodes present in the photovoltaic system prevent the high reverse voltage across the shaded cells. When the current discrepancy is identified the bypass diodes gets ON. Such variations are identified between the strings of cells inside the module, which occurs due to partial shading. If the cell is shaded or not in a proper working condition, instead of generating it start consuming power from the abutting series of solar cells. In big areas where thousands of solar panels are installed, electrical testing at each individual PV panel is difficult and time consuming.In this paper, a method of thermal imaging is used to expedite the identification of inoperative PV cells. The experimental analysis is performed by considering the bypass diodes in all three technologies namely mono-crystalline, multi-crystalline and hetero-junction with intrinsic type solar cell. The acquired signals are used to diagnose various neuromuscular diseases such as myopathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, spinal muscular atrophy etc. In this work, the spectral entropy of EMG signals and the image entropy of spectrograms of EMG signals acquired using three different electrodes (monopolar needle electrodes, concentric needle electrodes and surface electrodes) have been compared to analyze the information content of the signals measured using the three different electrode types. Results demonstrate that, the spectral entropy of EMG signals acquired using concentric needle electrodes is higher when compared to the spectral entropy of EMG signals measured using surface electrodes and monopolar needle electrodes. Further, the image entropy of EMG signals measured using monopolar needle electrodes is higher when compared to the image entropy of EMG signals acquired using concentric needle electrodes and surface electrodes. Wireless sensor network consists of many sensor nodes .A sensor node is used to acquire data from external environment. The Acquired data is wirelessly transmitted to the gateway node, where the data can be processed to reduce the dimension of data. Sensor nodes consume more power consumption during transmission, so battery should be replaced regularly .One of the method proposed in literature to prolong the battery life of the sensors is Compressive Sensing (CS) technique. Compressive sensing is a data compression technique that is used to represent the signals in a sparse domain. In this paper, real time data like temperature data and ECG data are acquired and compressed using CS algorithm and the proposed algorithm is implemented in hardware using WSN module. For the mentioned input data, around 75% data savings is achieved during transmission in WSN and hence battery power is saved. Many resource poor countries in the Developing world are affected by highly expensive commercial PCB milling machines. Hence a low cost and a semi-automated CNC (Computer numerical control) controlled PCB milling machine is proposed.A cost-efficient PCB machine will be designed and developed for the fabrication of both single and double-sided boards with through holes and surface mount technology. The machine will be using commercial, inexpensive hardware components and open source software adapted and improved for future electronics education. Hence future enhancement of the proposed design will be possible. This machine will be used to fabricate PCB boards of size and thickness of 0.2-3.175mm. Besides, the experiment of obtaining surface electromyography (sEMG) signal for repetition training for physiotherapy patient purpose is carried out to observe the difference in amplitude and muscle signal of different subjects (four males and four females) due to the amount of training and the angle of the training. The optical distribution link between the optical line terminal and optical network unit usually comprises of 1xN splitter/combiner. This splitter is used to have downstream and upstream of data to and from the user end. In this work, we have proposed a 1x4 optical beam splitter with a splitting ratio of 1:4. The splitter is designed based on photonic crystal ring resonators. Photonic Bandgap (PBG) of photonic crystals favours the design of splitter at the required operating wavelength. The Layout is proposed for 1550 nm wavelength and is reported to have an overall device efficiency of 84.68%. In this study, the two interacting conical frustum tank level (TICFTL) process is considered and the state space model is developed from the experimental data. The MPC controller is designed based on the state space model. The process of design and implementation of MPC controller in the Matlab & Simulink environment is detailed. Sudheer","doi":"10.1109/RTECC.2018.8625656","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/RTECC.2018.8625656","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents the analysis of Electromagnetic interference (EMI) radiations from the printed circuit boards (PCB) of SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supplies) and the results obtained can be used to choose the best trace lengths of PCB’s to make it Electromagnetically Compatible. The emission range of frequencies are considered from 30 MHz to 1GHz. SMPS has advantages like good efficiency, light weight and can be used to improve input power factor, but it produces high frequency EMI noise. The SMPS has a power switch switching large voltages and currents at high frequencies usually above 100 kHz having low rise time, because of this there are high frequency conducted and radiated emission from their PCBs. Hence radiation from its PCB traces needs to be evaluated. These high frequency component currents causes EMI emissions. Several signals emit radiations from the printed circuit board. This PCB acted like an antenna. As per international standards the EMI emission from such SMPS are measured at a distance of 3 m. The emission are calculated and it was verified using CST software simulation tool. The results are in close agreement. From the results obtained it is inferred that by increasing the length of the PCB trace, the magnitude of the radiations will increase up to 500 MHz and beyond it there may be resonance occurring. Here, Internal Model Control (IMC), a model based control technique is employed to meet the control objective. The water bath system is being modeled as Integer & Non-integer order model based on its open loop experimental data. Both these models are then used to obtain two different IMC controller, implemented in real time using LabVIEW environment respectively.
