Then, the present implementation in academic library do not illustrate the correlation between supplied resources and practical capacity. It is to develop capacity cost rate in order to interpret it in form of unused capacity. The purpose of this study is to build a new costing structure in product and service operation using time driven activity-based costing (TDABC). For product operation, this work carried on at a palm oil plantation in Prosper Palm Oil Mill Sdn. Bhd., Pahang. For service operation, data collection of academic library is taken in Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Eventually, in product operation, the total used time in all three activity centers of palm oil plantation are 3,220,928.04 minutes for mature area and 2,390,513.94 minutes for immature area. On the other hand, in service operation, the unused capacity is RM40,960.02 and RM144,202.51 in local and oversea material respectively. In terms of unused capacity, there are no significant differences when applying TDABC in product and service operation. Whereas, regarding of process dependency, activities in product operation are dependent to one another.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128463618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Problems owned by PT. Pilar Kekar Plasindo occurs in the production of small polyethylene. This is because small polyethylene production has large material total transfer distance. Small polyethylene problems include the distance between stations, cross-movement, backtracking, and the broken machine that is still placed in the production section. These conditions make the material handling costs and distance large. Therefore, this research aims to produce a layout design of production facilities that can minimize the distance and cost of material movement. The method used in this study is Systematic Layout Planning (SLP). Three alternative designs were compared, and the second proposed facility layout was chosen because it can reduce the total cost of material transfer by 68.3% and reduce the distance of material transfer by 59.6% from the initial facility layout.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122568904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis was motivated by three research questions and three null hypotheses. The study population consisted of 5,305 construction workers from 23 construction sites in the Oredo local government area of Edo State, Nigeria. The sample size of 530 respondents was selected for the analysis using a systematic random sampling technique that applied the Taro Yamane formula in drawing the sample size. The instrument used to collect data was a 10-item questionnaire built from the literature examined. The instrument has been tested by five experts. Spearman Brown rank correlation coefficient was used to determine the internal accuracy of the instrument and a correlation coefficient of.81 was obtained. In answering the research questions, the multiple regression statistics and the Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to investigate the hypotheses at .05 level of significance. The results of the study found, among other things, that there exist low use of safety practices among construction workers in the Oredo local government area of Edo State; a significant relationship exists between the use of safety practices and years of experience; a significant relationship exists between the use of safety practices and the level of education among construction workers. Based on the results of this report, it was suggested, among other things, that the management team of the various construction sites should demonstrate a greater commitment to the provision and compliance of safety equipment among workers to ensure optimal prevention of occupational hazards that will ensure sustainable growth.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114063759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, supervisor safety role is also proposed to be crucial towards good safety performance in SMEs. Henceforth, this study aisled to determine the direct impact of safety leadership (safety concern, safety policy, and safety motivation) played by the owner-managers on safety performance within the SME manufacturers in Selangor, Malaysia. Furthermore, this study also evaluated the mediating effect of supervisor safety roles towards safety leadership and safety performance' relationship. The data was collected among 165 SME manufacturing workers from 37 factories and Partial Least Square – Structured Equation Model (PSL-SEM) was performed for data analyses. The results indicated that safety leadership in terms of safety concern, safety policy, and safety motivation has significant impact on safety performance. However, supervisor safety role does not mediate the relationship between safety leadership and safety performance. These results proved importance of direct safety management by the owner-managers and supervisors towards safety performance.Safety leadership approach delivered by the owner-managers could be the best way to improve safety performance despite all the limitation within SMEs.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131650518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Similar types of learning materials in the form of slides, notes and books are used with additional forms of assessments to substitute the final exam. The main difference is in the learning approaches which have been switched to online based via various platforms depending on the suitability and preference of the students. This research focuses on identifying and analyzing certain aspects from the students’ perceptions, which are the students’ (1) learning preference; (2) learning engagement; (3) learning assessment, and in terms of their overall (4) satisfaction towards the learning process. This research uses a quantitative approach through the questionnaire as the survey instrument, involving 31 students. The data is analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentage frequency distribution, mean, and standard deviation). Findings show that despite using online-based learning, 48.39% obtained marks above 80% in Lab Test 2, which is doubled compared to the previous test, Lab Test 1, 25.81%. This indicates that while students prefer traditional-based learning, they are able to perform better through online-based learning.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134609090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Grafika Dua Tujuh is an industry engaged in publishing and printing books and student worksheets located in Klaten. The average output produced daily is 85.400 books and student worksheets, while the company has a production target of 90.000 books and student worksheets. Based on the results of interviews with workers, the level of production that is not maximal is caused by an uncomfortable working environment. Workers in the production room complained about the condition of a hot work environment so that workers feel easily tired and lack of concentration. To overcome the hot workplace, workers often go to the restroom and they work while holding the hand fan. This condition disturbed their concentration and cause work errors. If this condition is carried out continuously, there will be a lot of lost work time which can cause a decrease in productivity. This study aims to analyze the improvement of working temperature conditions in the production room of CV. Grafika Dua Tujuh. This research was conducted by directly measuring thermal conditions in the entire production room of CV. Grafika Dua Tujuh. Determination of the coordinate point of room temperature measurement is based on SNI: 16-7061-2004. Workload assessment is carried out based on SNI 7269: 2009. The results of the measurement of work climate at the content printing workstation are the values of air temperature, humidity, and wind speed i.e 33.32 °C, 39.9%, and 0 m/s. In addition, Wet Bulb Globe Temperature Index (WBGT) value is obtained which is on the verge of a limit, i.e 29.90 °C for the category of the heavy workload with an allocation of working time of 87.5%. The temperature is above the standard set by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1405 / MENKES / 2002 which sets the temperature in an industrial room ranging from 18 °C - 28 °C. Improvement for working temperature is done by engineering control, namely the installation of a turbine ventilator or exhaust fan.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"303 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130819106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
