In this study, we use data from the Thai Labor Force Survey (2011-2020) to examine the impact of the minimum wage policy on the wage distribution using a quantile regression model corrected for sample selection with a copula. We find that the minimum wage has the strongest effect on the lowest quantile and the effect decreases toward the higher quantiles. This confirms the effectiveness of the minimum wage policy in raising the wages of low-income individuals. In addition, there is also a spill-over effect on individuals in higher wage quantiles. The effect of the minimum wage estimated by our model is smaller compared to the standard quantile regression. This suggests that without correcting for sampling bias, the estimated effect of the minimum wage leads to an upward bias. A random sample of 297 table water companies was used for the investigation out of which 247 were validly completed. Using the Mahalanobis distance approach, three responses demonstrated the presence of outliers which were deleted from the dataset. Therefore, 244 responses were used for the study. Multiple regression analysis was used to establish the statistical significance and relationship between sustainable manufacturing practices and environmental performance of the selected table water companies. The study found that the investigated sustainable manufacturing practices (sustainable product development, sustainable packaging, and sustainable waste management) have a positive and significant impact on the environmental performance of table water companies. The study recommends that table water companies should invest more resources in state-of-the-art production technologies that could enhance manufacturing process and reduce energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121107905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lean six sigma in Malaysia has never improvised an account for this case of the uncommon event as it only focuses on daily operations and productions that are in stability and in alignment with the demand to capacity in an effective way. This study, therefore, attempts to compare and contrast the previous researches on lean practices, six sigma, industrial evolution, and healthcare sustainability to investigate where the paucity of literature lies and to deploy new strategies for the post-pandemic. Currently, the healthcare industry is motivated to update its conventional delivery systems to smart sophisticated systems due to the growing challenges within the services organization. The study found that integrating industrial revolution 4.0 technologies into the services optimizes sustainable healthcare management. As providing affordable, reliable, and safe healthcare while improving efficient performance remains challenging in the healthcare industry, this study posits that a hybrid of industrial revolution technologies, lean practices, and six sigma are enhancers of social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Compared with traditional information dissemination media, the Internet has a stronger dissemination ability, wider scope and larger audience. Online reviews about one's experience in using hotel service could be simply disseminated using the Internet platform, which consequently affects the hotel booking intention of future customers. In this regard, it is vital to understand the impact of online reviews on hotel booking intentions in order to develop strategies that will sustain the hotel industry. This study examined the impact of online review in four dimensions which are usefulness, valence, volume and trust towards online hotel booking intention. Besides, the study also investigated the role of self-efficacy towards online hotel booking intention to capture the user's technological capacity dimension. Data were collected using survey questionnaires from 255 UUM undergraduate students. The analysis was performed with the aid of SPSS statistical analysis software. The results suggest that only two dimensions in the online review have significant impact toward online hotel booking intention, namely volume and trust. Moreover, the role of self-efficacy was not observed. Studying online reviews and consumer behavior is beneficial for hotel managers to have a more comprehensive grasp of the factors that affect customers' intention to book hotels online. Implications of this study are further discussed.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131169429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The waste trade must be implemented in order to ensure environmental sustainability and the transition to a circular economy (CE). Waste trade, in the context of CE, serves as a basis for the development of circular business operations by facilitating end-of-life product management activities such as product return, reuse, recycling, and refurbishment. China is regarded as a global leader in recycling and solid waste disposal. Solid waste management is the process of reusing manufactured products to recover and reuse resources including plastics. However, the reassessment of the quality of traded recyclable materials has sparked a global waste governance dilemma. The goal of this study is to bring attention to the environmental consequences of plastic waste in a transition to a CE and the overview of China's national sword policy prohibition law. Using a qualitative approach, this study will analyse, assess, and formulate the practices of the waste trade that is now practised in the business. Various types of waste and how they cause emissions, waste trade and CE, China’s national sword policy and the consequences of worldwide plastic trade on businesses and the environment will be discussed. Additionally, a few steps that should be addressed including appropriate waste management and public awareness are also discussed. China's national sword policy is widely acknowledged to have a substantial effect on its neighbourhood countries including Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. This study concluded with a recommendation for how the developing countries could benefit from China's pathways.","PeriodicalId":429639,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technology and Operations Management","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115337638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
