By looking at values and culture, this study uses \u0000structural theory as the main theory and semiotics as an additional theory that \u0000aids the analysis of meaning. This study uses the observation method in the \u0000early stages, data collection methods, data classification methods, and data \u0000analysis methods. Data collection in this study was conducted through in- \u0000depth interviews by applying recording and defect techniques. The data were \u0000obtained from the informants to be used as a data source. The first data \u0000analysis is by looking at the structure of the Sasak story and then analyzing \u0000the values and culture contained in the Sasak story \"The Story of the King \u0000Kuripan\". The structure of the Sasak story \"The Story of the King Kuripan\" \u0000consists of a theme, plot, character, and message. The values and culture \u0000contained in the Sasak story \"The Story of the King Kuripan\" are; values and \u0000culture related to education, religiosity, customs, and history. The research used a qualitative research method. Its subjects were one EFL teacher and His grade VIII students that have been chosen purposively. The instruments used for data collection were interviews and observations. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result shows that there were five types of questions and answers used by teacher and students in EFL classroom dialogues. They were descriptive questions, relational question, causal questions, the grammatical form including polar questions and non-polar questions. Shaw not only has created assertive women characters but he has created men with an open mind to accept such a woman as part of their society. This creation of understanding and accommodating men has complemented Shaw’s women characters and has lent the space for them to move freely and interact with utmost liberty. If Shaw had created men who had narrower views on gender equality and who are confirmative, Shaw would not have created a truly explosive gender dynamics that has become the hallmark of his plays. Therefore, EFL teachers need to put their students in an English language exploration of writing. Promoting the use of a sensory detail chart in a collaborative experiential learning exercise, this study aimed at increasing the quality of EFL students’ descriptive writing. The researchers conducted this learning method by doing classroom action research in two cycles in which 26 students participated. The researchers used pre- and post-tests as research instruments to measure the quality of students’ descriptive writing. Each student used a sensory detail chart to help them organize their sensory words to describe some objects observed during the five senses exploration in small groups. Collaborative experiential learning accommodated the students to develop their communicative competence as well as to gain more ideas in describing the objects. From the tests, the researchers found that the quality of students’ descriptive writing increased by 36.58% in the first cycle and by 56.53% in the second cycle. In conclusion, the results showed that the five senses exploration in a collaborative experiential learning was successful in increasing the quality of students’ descriptive writing. The text was taken from Timor Express newspaper. The examination was to analyze its macrostructure, superstructure, microstructure and to describe the cognition and social context. We collected data by taking the news texts of Timor Express purposively. Additionally, we interviewed the editorial chief of the electronic mass media of the Timor Express to verify the data and to reach a deep understanding of the cognition and social contexts that implicitly realized in the news text construction. Results showed that the text structure of Kupang City fire extinguishing service in Timor Express news consists of macro-structure, super-structure, and microstructure. For the level of the superstructure, in general, Timor Express formulates headlines followed by leads consisting of script elements, which can be identified as: ‘what’, ‘when’, and ‘who’ elements. Meanwhile, elements ‘why’ and ‘how’ are in the news content (story). A macrostructure is a thematic form of the Kupang city fire extinguishing service news text. The microstructure consists of semantics, syntactic, stylistic, rhetoric. In the microstructure, the use of words that pointed to, or reinforced news messages about the fire disaster was investigated. In terms of social cognition, the aspect is realized in the form of journalists' mental awareness of a fire disaster that received services from the Kupang City fire service department. Delivering this objective leads to putting forth two hypotheses. The first is that academically-oriented Second Language Learners need to develop L2 writing skills. In addition to that, Second Language (L2) teachers also need to know how to teach L2 writing (Grabe and Kaplan, 1996). But more often than not, most of EFL teachers find writing a complicated skill to teach. This mindset, in one way or the other significantly affects students learning outcomes. The ongoing research paper has gone about a field investigation through graded writing composition tests papers. The sampled study population has consisted of sixty (60) English language learners in Senior Secondary Three (SS3). Out of this handful but gender-inclusive (i.e., male and female) respondents, the findings reveal that very few students in the classroom, have succeeded in producing effectively understandable writings. One of the reasons behind such poor capacity is that little time is devoted to teaching writing skill during English language classes. Since writing is perceived by both EFL teachers and learners as a complex skill which requires mental effort in addition to the lack of adequate training in it, this article comes up with the conclusion that EFL learners’ writing productions could be improved with teachers devoting more time and effort to its teaching. Toni Morrison’s novels have particularly depicted the black community from a specific perspective, the one that is largely defined and shared by the dominant white society and its standards. The Bluest Eye sets in Morrison’s hometown, Lorain, Ohio. In this novel, the black community in Lorain is separated from the upper-class white community, also known as Lake Shore Park, a place where blacks are not permitted. As for Sula the setting is a small town in Ohio, located on a hil lside known as “Bottom”. Song of Solomon plunges the reader into the absorbing black community, a standalone entity, but yet never far removed from the white world. The first pages of the novel describe “Not Doctor Street” and “No Mercy Hospital”. These na mes are used within the African-American community but are unofficial and not recognized by the white city rulers who instead identify them as Mains Avenue and Mercy Hospital. In short, the setting for Song of Solomon is an anonymous city in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The study has revealed that there always exists a white community bordering the black community as its standard and a machine to repress and exploit its people. This has risen up a crucial phenomenon not only to the transformation of socio-economic aspects but also to transformations of religiosity. In Bali, Indonesia, there has been a transformation of the Siwa-sisya or patron-client relationship, which is an integral part of the religiosity of Bali Hindus. Traditionally, Siwa resembles to be Pedanda or Pastors from the Brahmana background and sisya is the congregants of the respective Pastors which form a classic patron-client relationship.  This research aims at analyzing and explaining the patron-client relationship transformation in Bali and its implications within Hindus practices. By applying a critical ethnography approach, the data was collected through observation, in-depth interview, and literature review. The data was analyzed qualitatively through three interrelated stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The study reveals that there has been a shift of meaning from Siwa to Sulinggih, in which sisya now a freedom to choose Pastor has based on the market mechanism, which has resulted in a reformulation of the patron-client relationship. Consequently, Sulinggih can be Pastors even though the Pastors come from the non-Brahmana background. This research issues radicalism through the language because there is an element of the radical language becoming criteria of radical in social media. Pursuant to factual logical data, views from readers, this research aims at; 1) describing the criteria of the language use labelled radical by BNPT in Islamic pages; 2) investigating the ideology of radicalism views in Islamic pages; 3) describing how BNPT views Islamic pages; 4) finding the relevant result toward the discourse analysis learning in universities. The approach used in this study is the Critical Discourse Study approach belonging to descriptive qualitative. This study is based on the theory of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) as the main theories and supported by the use of Social Semiotic Theory proposed by Halliday to analyze criteria of radical language. Besides, this study is also based on the theory of ideology by Raymond William and Louis Althusser. To collect the data needed, this study employed observation and documentation techniques. The data gathered were then analyzed by using formal and informal methods. Then, they were categorized, classified, identified, labeled, and the data described. Based on results of the data analysis, it shows the use of the symbol or label criteria radical language, a linguistic and ideological overview of features on the site indicated radical and BNPT ’s view to that site. By examining from the perspective of macro and microstructure in the text, there are three topics the issue of jihad, demonstrations, takfirin . Besides, the use of microstructure including semantic syntactic, stylistic, rhetorical is the domain in terms of microstructure.
