The poling temperature (Tp) dependence of global TSDC spectra revealed the existence of the sub-Tg relaxation which was responsible for the apparent broadening of the glass transition of this copolyester. The TS-TSDC spectra also revealed that the temperature dependence of the relaxation times in both the sub-Tg and /spl alpha/ relaxations was ruled by the same compensation temperature (Tc). The physical meaning of Tc was discussed in relation to the thermal-expansion coefficient.","PeriodicalId":425004,"journal":{"name":"9th International Symposium on Electrets (ISE 9) Proceedings","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1996-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131890600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For example, the measuring result of the laser-induced pressure pulse method shows that the velocity of the pressure pulse is 1.4 km/s. The maximum surface density depends mostly on the dielectric strength of the film, and the maximum potential of the free surface on the sample is directly proportional to the film thickness. PVDF and P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer have been extensively studied recently, while much less is known about properties of P(VDF-TFE) copolymer. The purpose of this work was to study the role played by the trapped charge in thermal stability of the residual polarization in P(VDF-TFE) films and to find the energy of the charge de-trapping. To accomplish this, polarization profiles in the films poled either with or without a thermal stimulation were measured at different temperatures by the piezoelectrically induced pressure step (PPS) method. The activation energy was calculated from the experimental data and compared with those already known for PVDF and P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer.","PeriodicalId":425004,"journal":{"name":"9th International Symposium on Electrets (ISE 9) Proceedings","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1996-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121540498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this nondestructive experiment the surface of the electret sample has been excited by means of a sub-nanosecond laser pulse. The electrical potential across the electret layer changes due to the diffusion of thermal energy through the sample and due to the internal electrical field. The investigated samples were charged by a corona method. The charge centroid was estimated by a modified CV-method which will be described briefly. In the next step the samples were excited by means of a short laser pulse. Since the charge centroid for corona charged samples is close to the irradiated surface, the field distribution in the bulk SiO/sub 2/ is nearly homogeneous. Therefore parameters like the thermal diffusivity can be derived from the observed thermal-pulse response. Knowing the thermal properties of the layers, an approximation to the field distribution and thus the charge profile in the same electret layers was gained from the experimental data.","PeriodicalId":425004,"journal":{"name":"9th International Symposium on Electrets (ISE 9) Proceedings","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1996-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125146269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
