Losi","doi":"10.1109/ISE.1996.578204","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ISE.1996.578204","url":null,"abstract":"TSDC spectra of myoglobin (Mb) and human hemoglobin (Hb) have provided a great deal of information about the properties and role played by water molecules organized in the structure of both proteins at very low hydration degree /spl delta/ (/spl delta/=0.01+0.62). In particular, complementary TSDC and optical absorption spectroscopies applied to Mb have highlighted a critical hydration level which induces a partially irreversible structural change. In order to obtain piezoelectric and pyroelectric activities the composites have been polarized by a stepwise poling method. Samples with (i) polarization in the ceramic phase only and (ii) parallel polarization in the ceramic and copolymer have been prepared. In order to maintain high measurement resolution, the signal aroused on the transducer is modulated to produce a modulated PZT signal. Signal acquisition is accomplished with a lock-in amplifier and computer technologies. A typical application is SEAM (Scanning Electrical Acoustic Microscopy). The SEAM image reflects the thermal characteristics of materials. The blendmer films were polarized by corona discharge or by applying various d.c. electric field. Temperature dependence of residual surface charge and thermally stimulated depolarization current [TSDC] in the blendmers were measured. The amount of surface charge increased with the increase of MAH-PP content. Two peaks appeared in the TSDC at 90/spl deg/ and 150/spl deg/C. Low temperature peak may be generated by orientation of the dipole in MAH-PP. High temperature peak may be produced due to migration of homocharge trapped In the phase boundary between crystalline and amorphous region of the blendmers. The effect on accelerating the wound healing was investigated by determining the content of DNA from an epithelial cell on the wound, observing the the growth of an epithelial cell with the microscope and calculating the reduction rate of wound area by using a computer. The results showed that electret treatment can enhance the growth of an epithelial cell and raise the content of DNA. An electret can accelerate the wound healing. The very large value of the remnant polarization shows that the dipole in the amorphous regions of the semi-crystalline odd nylons could have an important contribution to the ferroelectric polarization. The homocharge and heterocharge are related with the applied electric field.
