The study used Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) to review the studies. The review included 161 studies from 2000 to 2019 within the Scopus database. Results indicated that almost half of the studies were conducted between 2015 and 2019 such that there is an increase in the number of studies. Most productive scholars were from Nordic Countries on this topic while the US, Australia, and UK published a high number of articles. Surprisingly, there were more qualitative studies than quantitative ones. Intellectual structure of knowledge base of research underlined the importance of first-year in college, transition to higher education, and student retention. Academic and social integration was the most frequently studied topic. Narrative inquiry involves a careful examination of data and subsequent restorying it into chronologically ordered narratives to create an immersive and detailed representation of the participants’ lived experiences. The researcher was also interested in factors which facilitated and hindered the process of developing and sustaining the participants’ interests. Data gathered through in-depth interviews revealed that doctoral students were aware of their research interests prior to beginning their doctoral studies. Their interests had clear connections with their personal experiences and teaching practice. Demanding coursework, lack of necessary equipment and the pressure to publish research articles were found to be detrimental to the development of research interests forcing the students to conduct studies on topics they were not interested in. It is very difficult to come up with a clear and common definition and conceptualization of originality and to discuss such an intangible subject in the context of all scientific fields. In order for researchers and academics to engage in sustainable R&D activities, originality must be well understood and measurably reflected. This study aims to reveal how the concept of originality has been addressed conceptually in the literature. The keywords related to the subject were filtered with Boolean operators and queried in the academic databases of “Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Akademik, Microsoft Academic, TR Index” and academic social networks of “Researchgate, Quora, Edigate Insights”. The results show that due to the variation in the topics, approaches and methodologies within different disciplines, the concept of scientific originality differs from one discipline to another. It is very important to understand the difference between the concepts of creativity, novelty and uniqueness, which are closely related to originality. Waste classifications and counts have been made in restaurants, hotel kitchens or production areas of mass nutrition systems. However, there is no waste management study related to educational kitchens in the literature. Educational kitchens differ from other kitchen applications interms of purpose and content. In educational kitchens, there is a variety of products, a variety ofproduction, and a small amount of production. Studies in these kitchens are carried out not for one type,but for the products of all different types of production. There are lessons in Ottoman cuisine, Turkish cuisine, regional cuisines, world cuisine, pastry, bread and many other fields. In addition, it is possible to increase the amount of waste due to mistakes and wrong applications during production. In educational kitchens, which are different for these and other reasons, information should be given not only on food production; but also on how to make production without waste andhow to reduce waste. Bringing this awareness to kitchen workers of the future at the beginning of their studies will be beneficial in the sectoral sense. For these purposes, the tools and equipment used in all applications and wastes produced in the application kitchen of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Ortaca Vocational School Cooking Program were counted, classified and recorded over a period of two weeks. According to the data obtained, it was concluded that the highest waste was production waste, while the second highest waste was food waste at the end of the day. The open datasets are published by third-party vendors as well as official authorities. For example, The Turkish Higher Education Council maintains a web portal dedicated to higher education in Türkiye. Detailed datasets about universities, faculties, and departments can be obtained from the portal. Using the data provided by the portal, detailed analysis can be done such as the understanding impact of higher education on activities in the economy connected to movements of the students within or between cities. Especially such activity can be observed in real estate since students rent flats or rooms. Moreover, this data helps researchers analyze changes in students’ preferences in terms of higher education over time. Although this site contains a variety of important information, it does not provide any Application Programming Interfaces (API) or any other possibilities to easily download or query the data in one place. This paper introduces thestats, a user-friendly R data package designed to make higher education statistics easily accessible. Researchers can use the package to query data, which is already scraped from the portal, using the R functions provided by the package. Thanks to the package, researchers do not need to perform any further effort to delve into Turkish higher education statistics. The study group of the research consisted of 734 students studying at the university level. In the first phase of the adaptation study, three experts working in the Department of English Language Teaching and a total of 126 university students with sufficient command of both languages were worked with, and language validity practices were completed. After the Turkish language validity was established, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were performed to determine the scale’s construct validity. To determine the reliability of the items in the scale, the Cronbach α internal reliability coefficients were calculated. To determine the distinctiveness of the items, the item-total correlations were calculated, and the significance of the difference between the item scores of the upper 27% and lower 27% groups determined according to the total score was determined by the t-test. In this study, interview form developed by Helms, Brajkovic, and Struthers (2017) was translated and used. This form, which was developed at the Centre for Internationalization and Global Engagement (CIGE) within the body of the American Council on Education [ACE], is based on the Comprehensive Internationalization Model (ACE, 2013). The study group consists of experts and managers of the international relations offices. The content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. We have investigated that the legal commitment of universities towards internationalization is high. Universities carry out the internationalization practices through administrative sub-units formed according to the type of internationalization activity. Universities declare their internationalization activities and goals in mission-vision documents or strategic plans, and universities subject their internationalization efforts to internal or external evaluation. Another essential point is that the university’s senior management cares for and embraces internationalization practices. Universities are determined to offer their students an international education program/foreign language through compulsory/elective courses. Universities aim to increase the number of international students by setting certain numerical goals and geographical targets. The internal conflicts experienced in Turkey's neighbouring countries stand out as a factor damaging the image of Turkey. Universities carry out their internationalization activities consciously and purposefully toward countries with historical and cultural heritage. To be able to do this, it is necessary to start with the analysis of the higher education (HE) policies and objectives in the development plans that have been prepared since the beginning of the planned development period. Aiming to determine HE policies and objectives on the basis of development plans, this study is expected to contribute to the field by guiding HE policymakers and quality system practitioners in Türkiye. Focusing on the HE policies and objectives in 11 development plans prepared in Türkiye from 1963 to 2019, the study was designed as a document review, following the qualitative research paradigm. The data obtained in the research were analyzed by applying the content analysis technique. During the analysis of the data, first of all, the development plans were subjected to content analysis, and the results related to the HE policies and targets were then identified and interpreted. The research revealed five themes related to the policies and objectives in the development plans (development of HE, support in HE, planning in HE, cooperation in HE, and financing of HE). Some policies and targets in the development plans were found to recur frequently. It was also observed that the dominant philosophical paradigm of the period was followed in the preparation of the plans, with no paradigmatic blindness. This study aims to reveal how fear appeal is used in news content published during the Covid-19 pandemic and its effect on the cognitive evaluation process that drives behavior change in individuals. To achieve this goal, the research was conducted in two stages. The first stage involved a review of news published between March 11, 2020 (when the first Covid-19 case in Türkiye was announced) and September 11, 2020 to identify the types of fear elements used and how they were constructed. A content analysis of 60 news articles in health-related categories, which contained fear appeal selected from four national newspapers, was carried out. In the second stage, field research was conducted to find out the impact of the fear elements identified in the news content on readers. A survey was administered to 418 participants aged 18 and above, and the dataset was analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. The survey contained statements about the components of perceived sensitivity, perceived severity, perceived effectiveness of response, and self-efficacy regarding the threat. One of the most critical factors in the effective and efficient execution of this practice is academic staff readiness for e-learning. By including multiple variables, this study investigates, the e-learning readiness of the academic staff teaching at a state university. The study adopts the survey design, and its research group is formed by academic staff working in a state university in the 2019–2020 academic year. 308 out of 576 academic staff working at the university voluntarily participated in the research. The data were obtained though the “Personal Information Form” and the “E-learning Readiness Scale of Academic Staff.” The findings show that the level of academic staff readiness for e-learning is at a medium level. Considering the gender variable, male lecturers have a higher self-efficacy in information and communications technologies use and self-confidence in e-learning. Furthermore, the e-learning needs of 24 to 31-year-olds are more compelling than those of 48 and above. Academic staff at the Faculty of Education are more ready to e-learn than those at the Faculty of Literature. It is concluded that academic title and education level do not make any difference in e-learning readiness. In accessing the internet, the self-efficacy perceptions in information and communications technologies use of the academic staff that uses laptop computers are more positive than those who use desktop computers. Those developing their computer and internet use skills with the help of others have stronger e-learning needs than those who developed them through university courses.
