Later on shedding itself of its essentially religious functions it moved on from churches to museums, from religious adoration to aesthetic admiration, from sacred presence to an expression of the artist's genius. Today when there are detractors of the quest of an for art's sake and the image is master of the small and the big screen, it remains just as difficult to appreciate the image at its true value, to recognize its mediating function between idolatry and iconoclasm, between blindness and jaundiced lucidity. Neither true nor false, the image is both at the same time - it can make free just as it can enslave./ Des la Bible, l’oeuvre d’art a souvent ete denoncee comme apparence trompeuse et incitation a l’adoration idolâtrique. S’affranchissant de ses fonctions essentiellement religieuses, elle est ensuite passee des eglises aux musees, de l’adoration religieuse a l’admiration esthetique, d’une presence sacree a l’expression du genie de l’artiste. Aujourd’hui, alors que certains denoncent la quete de l’art pour l’art et que l’image regne sur les grands et les petits ecrans, il demeure toujours aussi difficile d’apprecier l’image a sa juste valeur, de reconnaitre sa fonction mediatrice, entre idolâtrie et iconoclasme, entre aveuglement et lucidite desabusee. From Robinson Crusoe who enchanted the middle classes at the beginning of the 18th century up to the Methodist hymns, from the struggles of the working-classes in the 19th century to the pop culture and feminist claims at the end of the 20th century, from the Mayflower pilgrims to the political speeches of today's United States, succeeding generations and different social classes borrow from the Bible its messages and images, its style and its vocabulary. Faced with this continuity and this diversity, a question arises: is the biblical text being used as an instrument for ideas which are foreign to it? L'article commence par etudier la portee de l'adage lex orandi, lex credendi ; on decouvre ainsi que la lex en question est celle de l'Ecriture, recue par les Eglises, et mise en œuvre dans leurs liturgies. La suite de l'article tente de preciser les niveaux d'autorite de chacune de ces instances. L'Eglise est a la fois sujet et objet de la theologie. D'une part, elle est le lieu ou la theologie se fait en deployant la foi apostolique ; de l'autre, l'Eglise est objet de la reflexion theologique lorsque les chretiens tentent de definir sa nature et sa place dans le dessein de Dieu. L'exemple de la relation entre christologie, pneumatologie et ecclesiologie permet de montrer que le credo de l'Eglise contient une ecclesiologie implicite. Levinson, L'Hermeneutique de l'innovation (Bruxelles, 2005), on souligne tout l'interet de la methode consistant a mettre en evidence dans les textes de l'AT un principe de developpement procedant d'une exegese intra-biblique dont les methodes preparent celles de l'exegese rabbinique. L'exemple developpe dans l'ouvrage (le châtiment trans-generationnel enonce dans le decalogue en Ex 20,5-6 et dans d'autres textes : Nb 14,17-19.29-34 ; Dt 7,9-10 ; 2 S 12,1- 15 et 1 R 21,29 ; Ez 18) fait alors l'objet d'un reexamen. The way the Scripture text functions in magisterial documents depends on the operative theology that underlies these texts. This paper investigates the changes that have occurred in the Church's understanding and use of Scripture in Magisterial documents, more particularly in texts concerning the social teachings of the church. The study broadly classifies three paradigms of understanding Scripture, citing examples from official documents to illustrate their functioning: 1) the Bible as a collection of doctrinal propositions; 2) the Bible as a record of God's saving actions in history; 3) the Bible as a vision of full communion with God and neighbour. The latter two paradigms are realised in nascent form in the Vatican II document Dei Verbum, while the former had been prevalent in pre-Vatican II documents and has reappeared after the Vatican II era. Il invite a accueillir les differences legitimes et suggere aux catholiques occidentaux de revisiter la theologie medievale de l'eucharistie. // Although little known among theologians and Christian communities, the ecumenical agreement Guidelines for Admission to the Eucharist Between the Chaldean Church and the Assyrian Church of the East (20th October 2001) is nonetheless significant on an ecclesiological, liturgical and dogmatic level. Il l'a utilisee sous des formes diverses, celle qu'il rapportait d'Italie, celles qu'il rencontrait en Afrique, dans les Eglises catholiques et chez les donatistes, celles aussi que Jerome venait de produire (quelques-unes de ses traductions sur le grec hexaplaire et l'une ou l'autre des traductions sur l'hebreu). En depit de sa preference pour la Septante, Augustin a toujours recherche le meilleur texte. Dans le prolongement de sa conversion et au contact de la Bible, son hermeneutique aussi s'est transformee.
