Most of them received trastuzumab, either adjuvant or for the treatment of metastatic disease.</p></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><p>We take into account the patients expressed about HER2/Neu gene, either by immunohistochemistry or FISH, with the criteria of age, clinical stage, and the evolution of his illness. This review covers the year 2009 by the end of 2014.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The patients with breast cancer were reported 238, of which 187 collect HER2/Neu negative, and 51 patients with HER2/Neu positive. Patients who developed metastases, either at the beginning of his illness, or as part of their recurrence were 37 in total, with 26 for the HER2/Neu negative group and 11 for the HER2/Neu positive group. The metastatic sites of HER2/Neu positive patients were: 5 in central nervous system, 5 to skin, 4 to lung, 3 to bone, and 2 to liver.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>Our group, indicates that the most common site of metastasis is the central nervous system and skin. The supernumerary kidney is the rarest of kidney malformations and usually is discovered incidentally or when presented with complications. The clear cell carcinoma represents 80 to 85% of primary malignant tumors of kidney. The purpose of this work is to describe the CPGs fundamentals and the steps to develop them.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>CPGs contain recommendations result of a systematic work of a development group integrated by clinical and methodological experts, stakeholder and patients representatives. The protocol includes the scope, a list of clinical structured questions and systematic reviews to find, assess and extract evidence. An expert consensus panel methodology is also considered in order to integrated expertise to the existent scientific evidence.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>CPGs aim is to bridge the gap between scientific evidence and clinical decision-making through clinical recommendations systematically developed. Erazo Valle Solis , Nora Sobrevilla M. , Alexandro Martínez G. , Raúl Lugo Villegas","doi":"10.1016/j.gamo.2015.12.003","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.gamo.2015.12.003","url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Background</h3><p>The introduction of new drugs for the treatment of patients with advanced, recurrent or metastatic gastric cancer has resulted in a small benefit in overall survival (OS) and progression free survival (PFS).</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>To determine the impact of new chemotherapy schedules on the OS of patients with advanced or metastic gastric cancer treated at the Centro Medico Nacional 20 de noviembre, ISSSTE.</p></div><div><h3>Material and methodology</h3><p>Retrolective, descriptive study, the clinical files of patients with advanced, recurrent or metastatic gastric cancer treated with chemotherapy at the Centro Medico Nacional 20 de noviembre, ISSSTE, from january 2002 to december 2012, were analyzed. Chemotherapy schedules, OS and PFS were evaluated. Patients were assigned to two cohorts: those treated from january 2002 to december 2006 were included in cohort A and those treated from january 2007 to december 2012 in cohort B. These time periods were determined based on the years when newer chemotherapy agents (anthracyclines, oxaliplatin, capecitabine and docetaxel) were introduced in our institution.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>291 clinical files were analyzed; 221 patients were excluded for they had clinical stage I, II or resectable III disease, started first line chemotherapy as outpatients of our institution or were not candidates for chemotherapy. 70 cases treated with first line chemotherapy were included. OS for patients in cohort A was 11.2 months vs 10.5 months for patients in cohort B. PFS was 8.5 months vs 5.2, respectively. There was no statistical difference in either comparison.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>There was no impact of the introduction of newer chemotherapy agents in OS or PFS in patients treated in our institution.
