The identification of settlements, where readings were organized, allows us to conclude that all seven districts of the Olonets diocese became the object of religious and educational work of the Olonets branch of the Society, however the readings were mainly arranged in cities and some villages, located not very far from highroads and waterways. The Council of the Society was satisfied with the achieved successes, but the Olonets branch of the Society pursued the idea of a widespread expansion of Palestinian readings, taking into account traits of the settlement structure of the region and its social structure as well as the formation of the school system, completed by 1909-1913. The language barrier, which was an obstacle for communication of the Karelians and the Vepsians with priests and teachers, did not become a problem for organizers of readings on the Holy Land. The branch failed to achieve an all-round spread of Palestinian readings due to weakening of ties with the Council of the Society during the First Russian Revolution. Faced with the necessity to expand missionary work on the multi-ethnic periphery, the church and the state incorporated Palestinian Readings into the religious and moral ones, performed general management of them, and solving problems on its expansion and popularization with the assistance of the zemstvo. Palestinian readings became a tool not so much to achieve a goal that was too remote for the Olonets diocese and concerned to the formation of the favorable for the elite public opinion around the policy of creating of the «Russian Palestine», but to give stability of donations collecting in favor of the Society, and to keep the multi-ethnic periphery in the orbit of the Russian Empire by establishing the Orthodoxy, awakening of religious and patriotic feelings among the laity.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44144129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kuratov is a phenomenon of great social and artistic significance. It marked the beginning of creation of the Komi literary tradition and the inclusion of this tradition in the all-Russian literary process. The article examines the poems of I.A. Kuratov devoted to the peasant theme, and offers their analytical reading in the context of the works of the Nekrasov school of Russian poetry. Kuratov's appeal to the peasant theme was not a tribute to the conjuncture, a fashion \"for the people\" that arose in Russian literature by the middle of the 19th century. Kuratov saw his task in creating a panorama of Komi peasant life - in individual human destinies, characters, in the attitude of these people, their philosophy of life.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43460963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was carried out from the standpoint of modern ethno-cultural anthropology, ethnology, synergetic historicism, which meet the modern requirements of post-nonclassical rationality. The possibilities of mathematical modeling were used in order to identify the latent tendencies of the studied processes. The study (late 2019 - early 2020) involved modern Finno-Ugric families (Udmurts, Komi-Permyaks) in comparison with relevant samples of Tatars and Russians who live in the Kama region (total of 138 mothers, 186 adolescents). The latent ethno-cultural tendencies of the modern intergenerational transmission in the Finno-Ugric families of the Kama region were revealed as a result of the use of surveys and methods for measuring cultural values (Sh. Schwartz), the peculiarities of intergenerational interaction in a family (I.M. Markovskaya), as well as the methods of mathematical statistics and Structural Equation Modeling. It was found that the relationship between generations is influenced in a synergistic effect by both group values of preserving traditions and individual values of independence of views and actions. Based on the data obtained, we can draw a conclusion about the potential resource readiness of the younger generation both for social changes and for maintaining the status quo in modern sociocultural society.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48066545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rudenko","doi":"10.35634/2224-9443-2022-16-3-470-479","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35634/2224-9443-2022-16-3-470-479","url":null,"abstract":"The article examines the materials of settlements and burial grounds of the Imenkovo culture in the Middle Volga region. For the analysis, materials were taken from the excavations of the author of the II Tetyushy hillfort, Maklasheevka II hillfort, investigated by P.N. Starostin and some others, where large areas of the cultural layer were studied. In addition, the author used publications that provided materials from the burial grounds of the Imenkovo culture with the rite of cremation, or cremation and inhumation. The author argues that in order to further study the issues related to the Imenkovo culture, it is necessary to carry out a comparative analysis of the finds both from settlements and from burial grounds and try to synchronize them, taking into account the relative dating by stratigraphy. Taking into account the specifics of the settlement artifacts, several categories of items turned out to be suitable for comparison. These are decorations, household items, details of horse equipment. The ceramics that were placed in burials and used by the inhabitants of settlements, as a rule, of the same forms, were not considered in the article, since its typology and chronology have not been developed. For the same reason, the clay spindle whorls found both in settlements and in burial grounds were not taken into account. It was found that some household items are the same, for example, metal pins of clothes, beads, earrings, and in horse harness, only iron bits of certain types. Moreover, the distance between the burial ground and the settlement is not a determining condition for the synchronization of their functioning at one stage or another. The author came to the conclusion that the innovations that took place in the second half of the 6th century in the culture of the population of the Imenkovo culture of the Kazan Volga region, associated with the influx of a new population, created a special situation that led to the formation of a multiethnic and multicultural ethnic substrate in the first half of the 7th century, which became part of the vast economic and cultural space of the Volga-Kama region.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42409721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Zagrebin at the school lessons of Udmurt literature are considered. Much attention is paid to the contextual analysis of his literary works, which takes into account the biography of the writer and his creative laboratory, as well as the intertextual connections of a literary work and its interaction with other types of art. In order to form a holistic, versatile view of the writer's work, it is advisable to familiarize schoolchildren with the critical works that develop their ability to analyze literary works independently and help to form critical thinking. In addition, the functional and content potential of electronic forms of textbooks on Udmurt literature in the study of writers' creativity is revealed. Multimedia and interactive opportunities of an electronic textbook can become factors contributing to increasing the motivation of students to study Udmurt literature. For example, electronic simulators and final tests allow exciting and effective monitoring and evaluation of educational achievements of schoolchildren. The analysis of program materials on the creativity of E. Zagrebin presented in the article can be productively used by teachers for designing modern lessons of Udmurt literature.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43219902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Udmurt sciences, Yrjö Wichmann is represented as a linguist, one of the founders of comparative historical permistics, who made a huge contribution to Udmurt dialectology, historical phonetics, historical lexicology and etymology. However, the role of the Finnish scientist as a folklorist, who laid the foundations for the principles of recording and publishing folklore material, including music, has not yet been appreciated in Finno-Ugric studies. He made two long trips to the Udmurts in order to study some Udmurt dialects, there he recorded a significant corpus of samples of Udmurt speech. The corpus is composed of different genres of Udmurt folklore: songs, conspiracies, prayers, riddles, legends, etc., published in two volumes of \"Wotjakische sprachproben\" (1893; 1901). In addition, possessing musical notation, he recorded and published a corpus of melodies of Udmurt ritual songs, which have become a valuable source for modern comparative research. A rare success of the Finnish researcher should be considered records of rare instrumental tunes that accompanied pagan prayers. Publishing and describing folklore material, Yu. Vihmann, as a linguist-dialectologist, used the areal method, and for the first time used the folkloristic principles of classification, dividing the folklore material of each dialect into genre-thematic groups. At the same time, Yu. Wichmann, the first scientist in the history of Udmurt folkloristics, applied ethnomusicological methods in describing the genre system, the structure of melodies and the performing manner. Yrjö Wichmann rightfully occupies a prominent place in the history of Udmurt folklore studies. To a certain extent, he was ahead of his time, using the methodology and principles of working with folklore material, which have become fundamental in modern Russian folklore studies.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48100105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These languages are typologically different: German is an inflectional language, while Udmurt belongs to agglutinative languages. The modal meaning «simulative action» has its specific semantic features. Despite the fact that it is semantically close to the comparison meaning, it is also connected with the modality and influenced by subjective evaluation of a speaker. The representation of modal meaning «simulative action» covers all levels of the language system: morphological, lexical and syntactic. The simulative action meaning on the morphological level in the Udmurt language is expressed by the complex suffix -myask- and its combinations with the negative suffix -te-: -temyas ’ k-, -mteyas ’ k- . In German there are no specific affixes to express simulative action. Other linguistic means like comparative conjunctions kad ’ , vyllem in Udmurt or wie in German are used very rarely and can be considered as additional ones. Linguistic means of the lexical level demonstrate a large diversity: German verbs sich verstellen, sich stellen, sich anstellen, vortäuschen, sich aufspielen, heucheln, imitieren, simulieren, fingieren , Udmurt verbs analskyny, analtiskyny . In spite of wide range of semantically similar verbs, all of them except sich verstellen are used only in combination with other lexemes in restricted contexts. There are also some German lexemes derived from the verb scheinen . In both languages the semantics of the simulative action on the syntactic level can be expressed by syntactic units including an equivalent of the verb «to do» - karyny and tun. The authors specify the term «simulative action verbs» in Udmurt. They believe that the term is used incorrectly, when it comes to the verbal forms with suffixes -myas ’ k-, -temyas ’ k-, -mteyas ’ k- .","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45139901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, bilinguals are considered to be characterized by enhanced executive functions (attention, cognitive flexibility, resistance to interference). The bilingual cognitive advantage effect is most frequently revealed for elderly bilingual speakers, while experiments with young adults yield inconsistent results. The authors hypothesize that the presence/absence of the cognitive advantage effect at a young adult age can be determined by bilingualism type: bilingualism formed in a dense code-switching context boosts the development of executive functions. The hypothesis is tested in the experimental study with two groups of young adults: 1) the bilingual group (native speakers of the Komi-Permyak and Russian languages) and 2) the monolingual group (native speakers of the Russian language). Experimental techniques that measure the level of attention concentration, attention shifting and resistance to interference (the Schulte test, the Burdon test, the Stroop test) were applied. While analyzing the experimental results, mean and individual values of the speed and accuracy of the task performance for each group of participants were evaluated; then the results of bilingual and monolingual groups were compared. The research results demonstrate that young adult native speakers of the Komi-Permyak and Russian languages consistently outstrip their monolingual peers in adaptability of certain executive functions (namely, in their ability to flexibly coordinate attention concentration and shifting while performing various cognitive tasks).","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47188957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The question of the dialectal basis on which this literary language was formed was previously dealt with according to historical considerations almost without taking into account its proper linguistic features. The study of these features undertaken in the present article has demonstrated that no one of the modern Komi dialects can directly go back to the medieval dialect that formed the basis of the Old Permian literary language. Hence it follows that this medieval dialect existed in the territory where the Komi language is now lost. Taking into account the history of the Christianization of the Permians, with which the development of their own literary language was associated, it is most likely that this dialect was spoken downstream the river Vychegda to the west of the modern Komi language area.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44191736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
