Based on a wide range of sources - legislative acts, interstate agreements and other diplomatic documents, statements of politicians and public figures, published in the Hungarian and Ukrainian press, as well as in the media of other countries, the dynamics of changes in the approaches of the two countries to the Hungarian issue in Transcarpathia throughout the post-Soviet period is studied. The prerequisites and reasons for the aggravation of relations between Ukraine and Hungary in the 2010s are determined, including both the features of the historical, cultural and socio-economic development of Transcarpathia itself, and the transformation of the political systems of the two countries. The key factors that provoked the acute Ukrainian-Hungarian crisis in the mid-second half of the 2010s were the educational and language policy of Kiev, aimed at Ukrainization, as well as the refusal to make concessions on the autonomy of the Hungarians of Transcarpathia. At the same time, the issue of Transcarpathian Hungarians is only part of a larger problem of Ukrainian domestic and foreign policy - an attempt to form an ethnocentric model in a multicultural society.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2021-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48584456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specific forms of execution are compared with the customs of neighboring peoples, fabulous European folklore and customs of tribal collectives. The parallels in the description of ritual practices by various written sources are explained on the basis of the modern archaeological and textual discoveries, theoretical developments, and reconstructions. Some written testimonies have been found to match the archaeological material. Literary and folklore traditions, which could influence the description of «alien» people by chroniclers, are revealed. Semantic similarity of executions through burning and chopping is noted. Such methods of destruction of the body were associated with the fear that the deceased could take revenge on the killer, if the appropriate measures are not taken. Analyzed similarities of such reprisals with the execution-re-actualization of cosmogony. The influence of external conditions on the formation of local ritual traditions is noted. The pressure of world religions contributed to the contrast between new and old phenomena. Because of this contrast, reprisals could take on particularly bizarre forms. For an outside observer, they were even more unusual. Medieval authors did not always understand the meaning of the actions they observed. And their description to a considerable degree should have been influenced by the prejudices and stereotypes inherent to the narrator.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42605665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relevance of addressing the study of word semantics in this perspective is determined by the fact that such studies with native speakers of the Udmurt language have not been conducted before. Also, the material of this study will provide an opportunity for further cross-language comparative work. The main method of research is the free associative experiment (FAE), which allows a researcher to identify the most relevant lexical and semantic variants of a word for the experimental group of the Udmurt language speakers. The task of this type of work is to study the collective consciousness, which makes it necessary to conduct a mass survey in order to obtain a representative sample. The associative field obtained during the experiment is represents a model and tool for analyzing the semantics of a word. The composition of the associative field, the nature and ratio of reactions in it can significantly change the idea of the meaning of the word as a communicative unit. In order to communicate successfully, it is necessary to have not only a common code, but also a common knowledge about the associative environment of the word, i.e. its associative-verbal network. Associative field of any word has a core with the most frequent reactions and a periphery and is manifested in a variety of semantic, thematic-situational and evaluative-pragmatic relationships. This article presents an analysis of the associative fields of the Udmurt lexemes KORKA/HOUSE, ADYAMI /HUMAN and ULON/LIFE in order to identify the most relevant components of the word meaning for spea-kers of the Udmurt language. The experimental data obtained were consistently compared with the data from lexicographic sources in order to establish the psychologically relevant meaning of the studied words and their designated concepts.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49157979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The source material for the research project was obtained during field work organized by the International Research Group on Bilingual Education of the Faculty of Central European Studies at Constantine the Philosopher University (Nitra, Slovakia), conducted in Finland in 2019. The aim of the expedition was to study strategies for revitalizing the Saami language in Finland in the context of code switching. The authors of the article want to highlight how legal regulation can take into account educational problems that arise in different situations. In Finland, on a legislative basis, two languages (Finnish and Swedish) are taught, so all citizens, regardless of nationality, learn both of them. The law guarantees access to Saami education, i.e. it is optional for everyone. The education system offers opportunities for learning the Saami language in preschool educational institutions, in general education schools, as well as for individual groups, adult citizens. At the same time, the authors emphasize the fact that although state regulation centralizes education in the European Union, and in particular in Finland, the revitalization program of minority languages is still being successfully implemented, mostly due to the fact that program coordinators take into account the diversity and variety of cases and, as a result, adopt certain normative acts to solve different situations. Only society, political decision-makers, self-operating and self-conscious civil activity can help developing a successful national education system where bilingualism is reachable for minorities with significantly different backgrounds.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48977380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main stock repository today is the phonogrammarchiv of the Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature of the UdmFRC UB RAS. Expeditionary recordings made in 1974 and 2006 make it possible to trace the state of musical folklore in dynamics. Analysis of the field material showed a decrease in the number of songs and the complete disappearance of rites in late recordings, while the layer of non-ritual songs survived quite well. The same phenomenon (partial disappearance of the rite layer of songs and the prevalence of the non-ritual) we see in the Udmurt traditional culture. In our opinion, this is facilitated by the emotional component of non-ritual songs, which is relevant at all times. During the course of the work, new materials stored in other funds were identified and will be considered in subsequent studies. The further planned comparative analysis of musical folklore of the Udmurt resettlement tradition with autochthonous tradition will allow relating the degree of preservation and/or loss of its components.","PeriodicalId":41242,"journal":{"name":"Ezhegodnik Finno-Ugorskikh Issledovanii-Yearbook of Finno-Ugric Studies","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49064535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials of fieldworks conducted by the Institute of Ethnological Research. R. G. Kuzeeva UFITs RAS in 2015 in Yakshur-Bodya rural locality, allow us to adjust this thesis. The leading approach to the study of this problem is an inductive strategy; analysis and synthesis methods are also used. It also gives opportunities in finding out ways of coding and decoding emotive information. Sacred texts are perfect because they include ancient traditions of oral saving and delivering of information. They contain appeals to the nation traditional Gods. Such texts are always emotional. They have been being a wellhead of highest moral, religious, philosophic and language culture. Text is accompanied by sacred ritual and so it is a language in use. The lines of the Khanty text “Pesni Pеlymskogo Toruma” are the data for analyzing. They are one of the random texts which have graphical form of presentation. This fact could be explained by newly scripted position of Khanty language, by small amount of language data and by strict taboo of ritual participations: not everybody is allowed to be member or attestor of sacred proses for example children, woman, outsider. So, specialness of this research work is firstly investigating of graphical stylistics potential capacity, which is undeservingly ignored in finno-ugric linguistic study, secondly it gives an opportunity to connect graphics with other levels of the sacred texts stylistics. It demonstrates particularity and uniqueness of Khanty people’s sacred texts. For the aim achieving it is necessary to identify the inventory of graphic stylistics.
